This class is very simple and easy. There are four exams and they are all open book. She has case studys which are easy and help out your grade. They are due on thursdays. You can skip half your classes and still get an A. Easy class. Didn't learn much about the subject tho. Want an easy A, take Hale.

You never really had homework (just a few times) but when you did it was easy. For the first exam it was both multiple choice and essay and after that she gave us the choice on whether we wanted our exams to be essay or multiple choice. She always told us what the multiple choice essays were on so the exams were incredibly easy. She is always willing to help and gets back to your emails asap. I would say take her.

Dr. Hale is by far the best Criminal Justice professor in the department because she is down to earth, a little wacky, and extremely caring about her students. I recommend filling up your Criminal Justice Electives by taking her 4 classes which are Women and Criminal Justice, Organization/Management of Criminal Justice Agencies, Criminal Justice Popular Culture, and Social Construction of Homicide. I missed out on taking her for Intro to Criminal Justice and I still regret it to this very day. She wants to see you excel and would never once consider failing you or coming close to giving you a C. As long as you do your work, you are guaranteed an A. Most people do not like her because she's not a macho, pro-law enforcement styled professor. She would fit in greater in the Sociology, Psychology, or Social Work department. That is the only reason she has negative comments on here. Trust me, if you want minimal work, no studying, and a way to boost your GPA, then I strongly recommend her for every class she teaches! You will not regret it!

There isn't much to say about Donna Hale except she is a good teacher, just make sure when she gives you a study sheet you memorize the 2 essays because they're worth 20 points each. You'll really enjoy this class... take her!!!

Donna hale is the sh*t. She is sooo scatter brained but seriously, she says the craziest things ever. She will keep your attention with the crazy comments she makes. Her tests come from her lectures and the book so it's not that bad. She also curves EVERY test and if you go to her office and discuss your essays, she'll boost your grade.

This is the easiest class i ever had in my life. It's great. She may not teach me anything, but everything i need i get from the book. I didnt get below a 92 on any of her tests. She's always willing to help anyone-no matter if they're male or female. I highly recommend taking her intro class. Show up & she loves you.

This class is a complete joke. The class overall is easy because you don't do anything but if you actually want to learn something it's a waste of your time. She rambles the entire class about absolutely nothing. The worst part though is that you feel like you're five again. She treats everyone like we're as slow as she is. Oh and did I mention you will NEVER get let out of class on time. DON'T TAKE HER!

She is the worst professor I've ever had. An ape can teach a class better. Don't worry if ya have to take her, you can get all the test info from the book. Tests are extremely easy. She rambles on forever and usually holds you past 50 min! She is completely unprepared to teach, I have no clue how she got this job and absolutely no idea how she keeps it. CJ majors stay away!!!!

She has no idea what is going on around her at all. She talks randomly about who knows what and never does a good job explaining a thing. I wouldnt even go to class if i were you. REad the book and you're fine. She really needs to get a grip on reality!

sweet lord, this lady has no clue. she rambles on nothing for the whole class, and she is worthless. i have a tape recording of her class that i let my friends listen to when we want a good laugh. everything you can get from the book. her tests are not too hard, but the whole course is mostly the history of CJ. avoid her if you can. if not, plan on getting a lot of sleep. oh yea, no attendance, so you can skip whenever.

Her classes are the most useless pieces of crap offered by Shippensburg University. The classes aren't hard, you just want to kill yourself afterwords. If she likes you, you're golden. If not, watch out!

She is the worst Professor I have ever had. I feel like shooting myself in the head when I am in class. She is a total femi-Nazi, and everything she says revolves around women in law enforcement. The class wasn't too hard, but I didn't learn anything.

Dr. Hale is one of the most inept teachers I've incountered in my four years. She is a femanist who caters exclusivle to females. She also teaches many upper level CJ classes that she advertises under a guise and then switches around. Examples being her summer class about serial killers and her current class(Fall 02) about popular culture. I recomend trying to avoid her as much as possible but you must take her at some time being a CJ major. Kiss but and come to class.

12 of 37 students found this review helpful.

Dr. Hale is a joke of the CJ department. If you must, take her class for the credits. Come to class everyday to get the points, she hands them out like candy. Your entire grade depends on a 10pg paper and a book of articles you have to keep over the entire semester. We spent several days watching movies, playing board games, and listening to her talk about everything but criminal justice. The way she teaches the class has no relevance to CJ what-so-ever. Just show up and you're guaranteed to pass, but you'll be bored out of your mind....

There are not many dumber things I can think of than her Popular Culture class. While a Popular Culture class has potential to be interesting, she makes you sit through the slowest, most pointless hour and fifteen minutes of your life. Activities include show and tell, cutting out newspapers (this is what we do mostly), her passing out endless comics and other stupid handouts, and her rambling on and on about absolutely nothing. I mean, she's nice but damn this is the stupidest class I've ever had
