Dr. heitsch's classes are so easy. You should only need to go over the vocab before a test. Before you hand your test in she looks it over and if something is wrong she'll tell you that its wrong and let you go back and fix it. She also gives one quiz per chapter but she doesnt count them towards your grade; its really for her own benefit. One thing tho-go to class. She takes attendance everyday and it's easy points.

Dr. Heitsch was always available when I needed help. I missed a lot of class because of health reasons and she let me make up everything I missed. She also encouraged me not to take tests with the rest of the class, to take them at a later date so I could study more. She was always willing to help in any way that she possibly could. If you have to take French, take her!!

very nice prof. she does take attendence which does not count against you if you are doing well in the class. She enjoys giving good grades. Every time the class did bad she would be disappointed. Everybody should experience her personality, she is one of a kind.

If you show up, you get an A. She knows who is and isn't in class on a daily basis and she'll let you know if you're missing to much class. Some people don't get along with her because they think they know french from high school and they forget that SHE IS THE FREAKING PROFESSOR. So, if you show up for class and don't argue with her (cuz there's really no reason to) then you can get a good grade w/o even working all that hard.

If you don't like her then there is something wrong with you. So easy, so friendly, and will do whatever she needs to, to basically get you an A. Take HER!

Yo take this prof for any french class (not that you might have any choice). Her french 1 class was a breeze. I never studied for a damn test. Of course I had french for 4 years in high school but thats besides the point. She's easy and there's nothing to her class. She hates it when people miss class but she lets u hand in homework assignments late as a mofo. She don't care. She knows how it is. believe me, I laid it down for her. I was like what it is b*tch. And she backed down. So take her and if you think she's easy, you can thank me for showing you the light.

She isn't bad at all. The class was easy and if you act like you care she'll give you a B on every test as long as you look like you put forth some effort. Show up to class though, she get's kinda anal about not showing up. So show up, and you're all but guaranteed a B. I recommend her.

this prof is very cool. I knew NO french and I still got a B. She knew I was struggling and she helped me out alot. I still don't know any French and it's kinda difficult if you are totally new to the language but she'll help you as much as she can.

Dr. Heitsch is an enigma to me. On the one hand, she seems rather cold (which could just be a cultural thing), and she can sometimes be rather terse or downright moody. I think she did the best she could with the class though, considering that we were all at wildly different levels of French ability. The class was pretty boring, we did the same thing pretty much every day, and the same people answered the questions all the time. Still, she wasn't a bad prof, just not a great one.

It is necessary to buy the book and quia key code. The homework is on quia plus some assignments she tells you about in class. She has five tests plus the final, class attendence, and homework. If you don't come to her class she will not hesitate to fail you. I found the class to be a little difficult and I have taken French before. She gives you a test on each of the chapters in the book she covers, usually one through five, and expects you to do the quia assignments, many pages of online worksheets, before each test. She was very helpful when she could be, but she was very intimidating to talk to, so you didn't really feel like asking her a question. I would say she is effective if you study and come to every class. If you have trouble getting up early though, do not take her class. She lets you come in late, but doesn't really appreciate it.
