She's a super harsh grader that assigns a ton of readings and assignments, so skip her if that's not your thing. But you do ultimately learn a ton from her, so it was wroth it at least to me.

She has become my favorite professor so far. She teaches her material very well and knows her stuff. You learn so much in this class and have to pay attention throughout the whole lesson to do well. She does assign a lot of reading but it's worth it for the participation points she gives. She is, in my opinion, the epitome of a Excellent college professor. She is definitely someone that you do not want to pass up the opportunity of taking.

Dr. Klein's lectures are highly informative and perfectly paced. Pay attention in class, be active and you'll do fine. Sit in the first two rows so that she sees you more often, a large part of her grades is participation so the more effort she sees you put out the better you'll do. Dr. Klein is wonderful teacher and if you don't do well in her class, you're not working hard enough.

Her class is hard no question... however, she tells you everything up front. If you pay attention in class, follow the readings(or just know general knowledge about history) you will pass with at least a C. I didn't study for any test and got 80's on all. She is strict but it isn't that bad. Very knowing in the subject.

If you don't want to work, I have the perfect place for you, McDonald's! Get real people, for all those who gave negative comments: THIS IS COLLEGE, NOT HIGH SCHOOL!!! Do you really expect to be spoon fed, coddled, and babied??? Stop spending so much time complaining and do the work. I took Prof. Klein for the first time because I was a transfer and that's where they put me, I took her the second time because she TEACHES a class, she doesn't just babysit a group of students. So if you want to learn something, take Klein. If you want to be a slacker, go to McDonalds! And if you think she gives alot of reading, you should just drop out of college now, because if you are in a program in the Humanities, the reading only gets more intense. Also, keep this in mind, she may grade stiffly on papers, but when you finish her class (if you do the work) you will ACTUALLY have some knowledge on how to write an effective paper.

I will not lie, her class is hard. However she is not unfair, just listen to what she says in class and take the notes she has on the overhead. I never read anything in that class and just payed attention and contributed in class. It's really not that hard. A hint for the tests, just write down everything you know about the subject, if you do that you'll be fine. She's really not that bad, just challenging, it's college people live with it.

Dr. Klein's class was difficult, I'm not going to lie, but it was do-able. I actually learned a lot. She has an upperclass student hold study sessions each week.. attend them! She is always avaliable to help you do better, and she is very clear on what she grades for. At the end of the semester I was close to a B+, and she rounded me up because of my improvement from the first test to the second and third.

While Klein might not be the easiest professor, she is probably one of the most effective. She does her notes in outline form..which makes you pay attention in her class....seriously, it was one of the only classes that i didnt miss because i was afraid that if i missed one, that i would crap myself. Anyways. If you wanna actually learn instead of waste time, then this is your class.

Dr. Klein always knows what she's talking about. She seems to really dig history, and it shows. You're expected to do the reading--as you are in your other courses--and if you don't, you will be called out on it in front of everyone. So if you're lazy, I recommend someone else. If you're willing to put some work into your academics, or you dig history a lot, I recommend Dr. Klein.

Dr Klein knows what she is talking about. I learned more from her than in the 4 years of high school. Her classes are sorta boring in that all you do is take notes. But that is exactly what is on the tests. She gives you study guides and they are exactly what is on the test. She is a tough grader on essays tho, but if you know the study guide you should be fine.

Dr. Klein was a hard prof. Don't think you're going to get away not doing work in her class. I learned the most from her than probably any prof up here. She does demand a lot from her students, but if you want to learn history well, take her! If you aren't a history major, take someone easier. She makes herself available to students if they have questions about class too.

here is the break down... The classroom isa perfect example of a good lecture. She uses good visual aids either maps or videos or an outline of the speech she is giving. She is very well organized and has goals for each class. She gives you reading to do before each class so you can participate in conversation. You dont have to do them...... Just go to class open your book and skim for the answer when she asks. She will love you if you answer some questions.. If you dont she will call on you anyway then tell you to read more carfully. So you take about 3-4 weeks of notes then you have an exam.. Major cramming is neccasary and going to the Tutor sessions were clutch! you take 3 exams and do one paper.. If you hand your paper in early she will fix it and you can turn it in for almost a guaranteed A or B.. The class is not that hard, unless your a lazy bastard just going to state school becuase you got in...

Ive always loved history, but even though her class is dull as all getout, she gets the material across in a way you can understand it, if you take her, and i recommend you do, take down everything she repeats, actually, take down the majority of what she says, it will be very helpful come essay time, she grades very critically, but isnt an overly hard grader, she just wants a little more out of her students than some of the lackadaisical profs we have here, take her class at all costs, youll learn

Dr. Klein is a very smart woman who knows how to teach world history. The class isn't too interesting, but she makes sure she teachs the information so you remember it. Her tests are difficult, but even if you fail the first test (I did) if you go and talk to her about it, she helps you out and sometimes even doesn't count the first test as much as it should be. Take her if you wanna learn something!

Dr. Klein was one of the smartest profs/teachers I've ever had. She gave 3 exams (the 3rd had a comprehensive essay question on it) and one paper. She took attendance and knew everyone. She taught class so that everyone could understand. You had to study and keep up with the readings, but if you did, the tests weren't too difficult. I would definitely take her again because she knows what she's talking about and knows how to explain it effectively.

This teacher is hard!! She always comes to lecture and does not tell stories or joke around. Her tests are hard and she grades her papers so critically you think you would have to be a nobel prize winner to get an A on them. But before you run scared, you will learn more about history from this professor than any other. Her method of teaching, even though it may be direct and not so much fun, is very well organized and thought out. She teaches it in a way that makes everything easier to associate and come test time, easier to write her long essays. I would take this professor again just because of the ability to grasp the concepts. For her tests, make sure to make full use of the study guide and read the readings. If you do that, you will be fine. Just have to put in a little extra time out of class and you can easily keep up with her. I personally think she does an excellent job, even though it is a tough class.

First off, on the first day of the class you get a quiz which is graded. Her power points are just an "outline" of the material and you have to read the entire book to understand anything she is talking about. You have reading to do before every class which are always long. Her tests are out of this world. You have 10 multiple choice questions worth 30 points and about 70 terms you have to know the who, what, when, where, and significance for, but on the test you only need to define 4. Then you have a 2-4 page essay you have to write worth 50 points. Would never recommend her to anyone, worst professor there is.

For starters, on the first day of class she expects you to have the reading done. On the first day. So difficult. You need to participate in that class for points, but if you say something incorrect she questions your intelligence in front of everyone. Make sure you know everything there is to know about your debate topic or she will tear you apart in front of everyone. She thinks that we are there for a review of history, not to learn. Expects you to know everything before she teaches it. I would not recommend taking this teacher. I had a TBA, and got stuck with her. Her exam is a written form, it took me an hour and 15 minutes to write the essays. I still didn't have enough time. You will regret taking her.

I am a senior taking this class as an elective, and I have to say that Dr. Klein is the worst teacher I have had. While her class is easy, she is a total nazi. If you are even one minute late, she will have the door already locked and will ignore your knocking. Reading responses are to be completed before class (which I have no problem with) but she will intentionally look for students who did not do the work and call them out in front of the entire class. SHE CONSTANTLY REPEATS HERSELF which is annoying as hell, and 99% not even necessary. All in all, Klein loves being a bitch, but the class and material is easy.

Dr. Klein is a very nice woman but I would NOT take her class. She is a very harsh grader and expects you to know every little detail about everything. Your grade is basically only 2 tests and your final. You do a debate in class for a grade too but she is tough to please with this project. You have homework every night that corresponds with a few readings in your book. This class was the biggest pain.

She's a direct example of a teacher who takes a gen ed extremely too serious. She expects an absolutely outrageous amount of input into the class; such as constant raising of hands and note taking. So much that she will literally call people out in the middle of class for not taking notes, or if they don't know an answer dealing with the due reading. Although I often didn't fall victim to such thing, teachers like this still tend to bother me. In my overall opinion, she needs to settle down a notch, and allow students to put in whatever effort they desire and stop intervening so much.

Well...I used to like history until this professor. If you do not like to read before every class, get out while you can. If you do not read in this class, she will hunt you down and sell you out in front of the entire class. This will also lose you participation points. She gives you a clear study guide on what is on the test but is extremely anal about them. She grades down to the T. so I suggest you RUN! RUN AS FAST AS you CAN! GO!!

Dr.Klein grades all her students as if they are all honors students (since shes the director of the honors program). If I wanted to be graded like I was an honor student I would have taken an honors class! Her class is the SAME EVERY DAY, just notes on an overhead..the notes are in outline forms. You have to decide what is important enough to write. She just rambles on all class and forgets that we aren't as informed on the subject like she is. Her tests are impossible. 50% of your grade on tests is an essay. Her class makes me want to steer clear of history all together. Worst prof by far! Avoid her at all costs. DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU DON'T LIKE HISTORY... she likes it too much and knows right away if history's your weak subject. Then she pounds you into the ground when she knows you don't know what you're talking about... HORRIBLE CLASS. You also have to give a debate, which is impossible to pass unless you kiss her a**... And her participation grading is REDICULOUS! If you don't comment more than once a day, with something accurate to say, you lose points. OVERALL HORRIBLE TEACHER - do not take her if you don't like the subject.

I just want to warn everyone who is not a history buff -- do not take Dr. Klein! Her tests are 20% matching and the rest is writing. She requires so much detail that you might as well find out the person's blood type or at what exact second of the day an event started while you're studying. If you find history interesting, take her; but if you're just looking to retain information long enough to pass the course (like I was), save yourself the headache and take somebody who gives less impossible tests.

From my experience in this class I do not believe Dr. Klein is a very nice person. She thinks she is the God of history, she's a psycho about plagiarism, shes a b*tch, and shes not understanding by any means. I know from experience believe me you do not want to take her.

If you don't mind getting information shoved down your throat at a breakneck speed, or 60% of your class being blamed of plagarism (which was soon backed out of), then by all means take this teacher. You DO learn history, but you don't have enough time to remember it. Her tests are cake, and the paper is mediocre at best. Wouldn't recommend her though.

Dr. Klein is a good professor overall. She knows her stuff and you gotta pay attention. She grades participation as a test grade so if participate 1-2 times per class you should be good. Her power points suck, she wants you to take notes on what she says and that's the way she runs her class. Do the discussion questions for class every day because she checks who downloads the questions online. My first test wasn't too good but I went to her to ask how to go about studying for it. My second test was a big jump. I'm taking her History II class again because I know how it is already. It's up to you if you want to take her, but just make sure that you focus and pay attention if you do.

Not as bad as people make her out to be. She is a very good teacher and def knows what she is talking about. Her class is kinda hard, but if you take notes and listen to her you should do fine. I learned alot in the class, but it was pretty boring. Over all not a bad class.

Dr. Klein is very organized with everything she does. I would describe this class as tedious. You have readings assigned to be read for every class. You might be able to get away without reading them but I couldn't. Most of them really aren't that long and usually pretty understandable. Her tests are long. I thought I was fast during tests but hers took me well into the class to finish. A lot of short answers and a long essay. This class was time consuming, but I learned more during one semester than I did during 4 years of high school. I would recommend her.

I went into this class knowing nothing about history and i got a decent grade. Shes a tough teacher but she knows what shes talking about. Her tests are very hard but she offers a lot of help. Keep up with the readings and take good notes.

Well, Dr. Klein is a very tough teacher, but if you work hard and study the study guides she gives, you will do alright in this class. She makes you write an essay, and she is extremely watchful for plagarism. her classes tend to be rather boring, but if you stay awake and take good notes you'll be fine. I noticed that Dr. Klein believes that she is always right, so don't try to contest it.

Dr. Klein really knows her stuff. She is a great prof. But the class was very hard. The tests were extreamly difficult and there was a paper that she graded hard on. You have to keep up with the work and go to study sessions!
