Subject: Excellent class  (Jan 06 2005, 01:56PM)

I love Professor Knerr's style of teaching: we had four quizzes worth twenty-five points each (mostly multiple choice and a few short essays), and if you read and reviewed the chapters in the book, you were guaranteed to get a good grade. Plus, you were allowed to hand in corrections for the questions you got wrong and get up to half of those points back. There were quite a few papers, but all of them relatively short. Dr. Knerr encourages concise writing and doesn't even like long papers; she'd rather have you say everything you need to in one or two pages. There was lots of class discussion as well. I learned a lot in Professor Knerr's class, and I didn't ever feel overwhelmed by the work load.

She was very effective at teaching this class. You had to think for the tests but it was worth it in the end. She was willing to help in any way she could and very understanding. If you are planning on taking the praxis take her it will help.

She really does a good job with getting you to think about real life situations. You do 4 quizzes that are mostly multiple choice with an essay. The entire class is discussion, with very little lecture. I would definitely recommend taking her!

She is always available and willing to help. Very flexible. She reminded me one time to turn in an assignment due on that day. She told me to e-mail it to her and she was very understanding. She is a very nice lady and loves what she does. I would definitely recommend!
