Dr. Baird is a good prof. It was funny to see someone get so excited about organic chemistry and mad about common names and other stuff. However, he does not spill the beans at all on what is going to be on his tests. You can bug him all you want and he will not give you any hints so you have to know everything. On the test, sometimes he does not provide much room for certain questions, do not assume this means you should write down a short answer. Write everything you know and continue on the back if you have to, because he will dock points everytime if you go skimpy on your answers. Read the book, do all of the problems, and write down everything you know for every question on the test and you will do fine.

As with a lot of Profs, he knows his stuff but tends to be boring. Tests were easy- nothing tricky. Take good notes and study.

I had this proff over the summer. The quizes and homework were really easy, however when it came to the exams they were not so easy. When I had questions I could never get hold of him...

Boring, Boring, Boring. He sounds like Kermit the frog and he is obsessed with teaching students how to build nuclear weapons. He is so monotone that I cant believe people don't sleep in his class. His tests are almost impossible because they cover sooooo much info you have to start studying weeks in advance. Avoid him if you can.

this class would be a very easy class to take for a gen ed your never going to use but if you are a major, dont take him for lab. he doesnt really seem to know what hes doing, thou he is a nice guy if you go ask him for help and all

the man is mostly ineffective as a teacher as he is incomprehensible most of the time as he goes off on tangents about completely unrelated material. he does indeed sound like kermit the frog but his tests don't have much surprise information on them. i have an A in the class, however, i learn mostly from the book... which was $200. i probably will take him again.. but if u're intolerant/impatient i don't recommend him.

Dr. Baird's classes are extremely boring. I had him at 9:30 a.m. and I just wanted to sleep through the entire class. I got a D on the first exam and Cs on the others. The final was extremely hard, i was confused. If you take him, make sure that you study both the notes and textbook, he uses stuff from the book, even if he doesn't talk about it in class. If you think you're doing bad in his class, don't worry, as far as I know I was supposed to receive a C- but I ended up with a B. Just make sure to do all of your articles! All-in-all take him if you must, but if there's a better professor out there, by all means take that one!

Dr. Baird is a nice guy. He is really excited about Chemistry and he teaches his class in a way that he thinks everyone shares his excitement for Chemistry. He sometimes assumes that a lot of the material is common sense and easy, but for a non-science major it is actually pretty difficult. I don't suggest taking him if you never had chemistry in high school. But he is very helpful and his grading scale is really low, you can get a 50% in the class and still have a D.

This prof is one of the most boring prof's i have taken here in four years. He speaks in mono tone, doesn't take attendence, but if you miss you are missing a ton of notes, because he doesn't go directly from the book. He tries to bring the material done to a non chemist level, but you have to understand that's hard to do sometimes. It wasn't the worst class ever, but if you are looking for your last gen ed to be easy, he's not the one to pick.
