Dr. Payne is pretty alright. I used to dread going to his class because it was too easy and I got really bored. He goes over the same concept twenty times and on tests he will ask the same question five different ways. Anyway, I got used to his teaching style and he's really not that bad i suppose. His quizzes are cake, but his tests are suprisingly tougher than you would expect. He had to curve the first test so much that if you got 82/100 you got an A. I think poor test scores were more of a reflection on the format because some of the multiple choice was impossible. Other than that he is easy so take him!! He is understanding and willing to answer questions in class and makes sure that everyone understands whats going on.

This class was not an easy grade, but if you studied it was not too bad. I think it would have been easier if I would have taken it right after I had RD&S I and II, because Dr. Payne starts right away assuming you remember the material from those two pre-requisites, but it all started coming back about half way through the course. The exams are multiple choice and short answer with a couple of formula calculations required. We also did a semester long research project with a group, which was valuable experience! Overall, this was a fun class, and Dr. Payne is an excellent teacher!

Dr. Payne wont BS you with this class. He knows very well that its a psych requirement to graduate, and he understands that no one wants to do math problems all semester. Still, he teaches you how to do them AND shows you the real world applications. Open notes and book tests... Failing this class means you just didnt go to get the notes. Even if you do skip a few classes, meet with him and you will be fine. Great guy, good teacher.

Four words: Open note, open book. Sure the content may not be super easy, but you have all you need come exam day. Just go to class and get the notes and you'll do fine. He can be a little boring sometimes, but overall he's a nice guy.

This professor is excellent in teaching research and design. He makes the material easy to understand, and he is very organized. The study guide for the course is great, and everything on it is really what you get tested on. No surprises! He does what he can to make sure everyone is up to pace with what he is teaching. He gets an A+ in my book!

If you have to take RD&S I would take him! He is a good prof. and he is more than willing to do whatever it takes to help you. He takes the time to make sure you know what you are doing.

Dr. Payne was really a good prof for statistics. He gave a few math sheets and there were 3 exams. The multiple choice section was sometimes tricky, but the math part was open book and right from the notes. I definitely recommend him.

His tests were easy. For the math parts of the tests we could use our books and notes. He gave us specific study guides. Not to much homework and what homework he assigned was very easy. If you don't understand something don't hesitate to ask!

It's bad enough that Dr. Payne has an annoying habit of talking to the back wall, but his tests are also irrelevant and impossible to do well on. He asks the most asinine questions on the test and includes material that isn't on the review sheet. There's also a group project required that he gives no direction or guidance on. This man inspired me to change my major.

Not only is the material painfully boring, but he doesn't make it any better. If you've never had stats, he explains it well, but takes off random points on tests for subjective questions. I only took him the 2nd time because I had to...I wouldn't reccomend him.

Dr. Payne is so easy! He goes over the same thing over and over, so you'll definitely get it. His tests are open book and notes except for the final which is accumulative. Only half of it is open book. There are four tests and a final and sometimes there is a computer lab assignment that takes five minutes. Take him if you want an easy class.
