Dr.Presser is the best! Shes funny, nice, and really helpful. She gives daily homework worksheets to turn in, and they are pretty much just like the questions on the test. Shes very lenient with the homework though, if you miss class just send it to her or give it to her later. Dr.Presser does go a little fast sometimes, but if you can't keep up just ask later at her office hours she's always there or she'll tell you. You also do classwork after each lecture usually and you can ask her questions then as well if you're confused. She also holds review sessions for the exam, going over everything that will be on it, answering any questions or doing any example problems. She also puts what she expects you to do on the exam online. Her exams can be a little rough at times, but if you can do the homework and keep up with the suggested practice problems and ask questions when confused I don't see how you can do that badly. I HIGHLY SUGGEST Dr.Presser if you want to learn and are motivated! These comments give the wrong idea, almost the opposite of what was said which is surprising. And the comments about her voice are just stupid, like really? You're that much of a jerk that her VOICE bothers you? Come on.

Dr. Presser is always available! She does absolutely everything she can to help the students and is always cracking jokes. She's very involved in getting along with her students! She answers a lot of homework questions and won't let you take your daily quiz until everyone understands the topic from the day before. She's awesome and I highly recommend her!

super nice lady, she does sound a bit nervous but you know what you're getting in to. group work for over half the class time where you just d*ck around. tests require studying, quizzed every week which you may need to look over notes but are easy...no homework EVER checked, take her if you can!

I really did not understand higher math at all. I had a very hard time in class but after visiting her during office hours I could answer questions in class and do well on the exams. Take her if you have the chance she is really understanding and if you get past her speech problem she is great.

For those people who said that she talks nerviously she does. But other than that and maybe going a little fast sometimes.. She's super easy, really helpful, and her tests are easy... No surprises. I've gotten C's all through high school in math and i now have a A-.

Dr. Presser is a good professor. Sometimes she goes a little fast, but she has an SI(tutor) you can go to for help. Neither attendance nor homework is required, but if you don't come and don't do ALL of the homework problems, you will not do well unless you're exceptionally well at math.

Dr. Presser is very nice outside of class and will spend a lot of time trying to explain things to you during office hours. Trying to understand her in class is another matter. She expects you to understand and be an expert at everything from the moment the information leaves her mouth. She doesn't like to answer questions in class. If you didn't get what she was saying, then it's your fault and you should see her during office hours. She got upset with someone in class for who knows what and gave us a pop-quiz every class for a few weeks, sometimes on the material she just finished lecturing on. She told me I was "mathematically immature" because I didn't understand what she was talking about. I had received an "A" in every math class I had taken before I got to Ship. Her tests were really hard and the homework was too, but you had to do it or you wouldn't have a chance on the test. There was always a line at her office because nobody understood her in class. If you have to take her, good luck.

She's overly harsh when it comes to tests. If you put too much for a question she actually takes points off even if the right answer is there! Sometimes she took points off and I didn't even know why. She's not too good at explaining things and if you ask alot of questions she gets frustrated. Stats is an easy class and she made it so much harder than it needed to be. You'd think it was a high level class instead of an INTRO class.

This proff is horrible. If you get behind in that class at all youre outta luck. She doesnt like to answer questions in class, and when she actually does . . her answers dont make sense! She goes over 2 sometimes 3 sections in one class, once again not asking if you have questions. She has quizzes just about every week. Sometimes she'll hand back a test that you did bad on, and at the end of the period she'll say put everything away we're taking the test again and whatever you do better on will count for extra credit. Well it sure isnt helping anyone when you dont go over the test or answer our questions on it! There is no logic to anything she does! DONT TAKE HER!

Dr. Presser bites as a teacher. You can't understand or follow her, she goes too fast and for a 100 level class, you'd think you were in a Master's program. Her red pen is merciless. If you meet with her after class, she is very friendly and will answer any questions...but you have to understand her answers. Be ready for the hardest most confusing tests. WRITE OUT ALL OF YOUR WORK. She docks you if you don't. This class made me cry.

Dr. Presser was available, but she got mad when you asked questions in class. She thinks all questions should be for outside the classroom. You are to take it upon yourself to see her during her office hours or getting tutoring help if you have a question. She doesn't really teach the class either. You just do the labs all period with your group. And that doesn't help because you don't know if your answers are correct or not. She makes you write 3 papers and they're only worth 3% of your grade, you might as well not do them!! She's not a bad person, she just doesn't teach well.

This is one of the worst professors i've ever taken. She is the most difficult professor i've seen in a long time. This is a hundred level class, and the majority of kids in it arent even math majors, but you could swear that she thinks that. Her final is as hard as it gets, and she will not help you AT ALL! She goes over problems in class, but on the tests they are the most difficult she could find. I would never take her for any class ever again, and i hope nobody else ever will either. PS she has no pitty for anyone, so theres no such thing as getting extra help or anything to help your grades. Basically it's 3 tests and thats it...

Remember those good old junior high days?? Well welcome back, because Dr. Presser is old school enough to bring back the "homework notebook." Nothing like feeling like a little kid again with a load of bullshit work, all kept tighty in my little ole' notebook specifically for my arithmetic homework. Add a quiver in her voice while she teaches that makes YOU feel nervous just for listening to her, and you have yourself two thumbs down.

The class was overall not too bad. She'll put you to sleep a lot, which happened to me, and it kind of sounds like she is crying when she talks. The class isn't too hard and the tests are fairly easy if you do the homework, which she goes over in class.

Dr. Presser is a nice prof, but she asks for way to much. Her tests and quizzes arent that hard if you study. The one thing I really didn't like about her was when you take a test and write the answer down, the answer can be right, but she'll mark it wrong for some dumb reason. I'm not a math person nor do I want to be.

If you are thinking about taking this class, I hope you took calc in highschool. I was fortunate enough to, so I already had an idea of what I was doing. There are no notebooks anymore, I guess she did away with those, but lots of quizzes (however some are group quizzes). Homework and attendance, while not mandatory, are a must if you want a good grade. I recieved an A in this class, however, I think I was only one of three people to get that grade. If you are going into calc for the FIRST time, you may wish to look elsewhere.

If you are good at math and can handle a prof that moves at the speed of light then go for it. Otherwise you'll always feel two steps behind everyone else, even if you do your work. Her voice shakes when she speaks like she's incredible nervous and its a fairly boring class.
