Dr. Ragone is very knowledgeable. Her class was challenging but very informative. She was very helpful and fair. I learned a lot.

Dr. Ragone really cares about her students and cares about her subject, and I think those are the two most important qualities of a good teacher. This class was very difficult for me and for most of the students, but I think everyone that tried their best got a good grade, even if we didn't leave with a perfect knowledge of French phonemes.

First off she reminds me of my High School Spanish teacher so I may be a bit biased. She's a bit rough on the surface but she speaks Spanish very clearly so you start to get the flow of it. It is kind of annoying that you have a lab or a test due every single week, but you start to get used to it. She will go over the grammar IN DEPTH every single class, but seems to skip over the vocab very quickly. Therefore if you pay attention in class, then all you'll need to do is study the vocab closely and then quickly refresh yourself on the grammar to be ready for the tests. Expect to learn Spanish, but don't expect an easy grade.

A lot of students in my class complained that they didn't understand in this class, but I understood easily, and actually had study groups to help my classmates...I got mostly B's on the tests and didn't really study...Labs are easy, you don't even have to answer most of the questions, just listen to the cd till they give you the answers. Also, if you study off the study guides she gives you, you can do well on the tests. Sometimes its hard to understand what shes saying, but thats natural with Spanish teachers...

It's funny bc I am doing horribly in her class right now, but it's not her fault. She is a very easy grader, she accepts all late work and doesn't take off points. She gives good lectures and she is very intelligent and friendly. I liked her, but I'm just not that good at French.

This lady was kinda boring but again it was French civ so she didn't have much to work with. It was easy but a lot of work. Read 5 books then critique em, then 3 5page papers about some French shit. All in all it was an easy A as long as u do the work.

Ragone is a very happy, pleasant teacher...she makes class fun and doesn't overload students with too much. She is patient and will work with you if you don't understand something...take her! She's very nice if you skip class..a lot...

The work load is about normal for a foreign language. The class was fairly easy, 3 tests and an oral final, 2 presentations (1 group video and 1 individual, you pick your topics), and homework. Homework is easy and a must because she collects whenever. Very nice, understanding, and patient. I really learned a lot. Take her if you can.

Don't bother taking this class because if you show up for it you should already speak excellent spanish. All she does is talk in in spanish for the whole class and you have no idea what's going on. There are also 7 major tests that are impossible.

This class was terrible! We had a test EVERY WEEK. You never get a break, because not only is there a test every week, your lab is due every week too. Don't take this class unless you have a LOT of spare time to study for a test every week and do a lab every week. She 'expects' you to know this stuff and she doesn't explain anything to you if you ask her a question. She doesn't even listen to your question and she doesn't 'understand' what you are asking because she expects you to know all this sh*t. And then when she 'explains' it to you, she just moves on really fast, like you were expected to learn in the 10 seconds she talked to you. I struggled through this entire class because i don't have 20 hours a week to study for a test and work on a lab. I have other hard subjects I need to study for, not just spanish. Don't take her if necessary!

Listen this lady is irrational, mean, not willing to help, and overall the worst french teacher i have ever encountered. Shes never in a good mood, her class is so dry and boring, her tests are a Mo FO. []I know that for alot of majors its required to take french classes but seriously if you can put it off if shes teaching your class do so, Dr. Hietch and Dr. Nagaaga are awesome. Stay away, theres not one nice thing i can say about her, if she doesnt like you good luck with her class, she failed or gave Ds to atleast 50% of the class, i got a 701/1000 i was one of the lucky ones, just beware shes the worst ever.
