Dr. Bardo seems like a hardass at first, but he's actually a cool guy. As long as you understand the problems, you should do well on the tests. And he goes off on lots of tangents, which is pretty nice. I'd definitely recommend Bardo for this class.

I had Dr. Bardo 3 times a week at 8am. I think that was most of the problem. He isnt as bad as everyone else thinks he is. It is true tough that you have to teach yourself becuase he doesnt do anything. I read the book and used the CD that came with it and got c's and b's on all of the tests. The best part about him is that he curves big time. I should of had a C in his class but somehow I ended up with an A-. If you dont mind reading the text book and figuring stuff out on your own he is your man. If your incompitent and you need the professor to hold your hand for you, you should definitly not take him.

Easy class, as long as you do the work. There is alot hype about him being a real jerk but it is not true. Anyone who needs an easy B or A should take him. Although you do most teaching to your self by reading the book. His test are similiar to the homework he assigns.

Dr. Bardo is SO funny! His British accent and the jokes he tells make class worth going to. Five exams including the final, all worth 20% of your grade. As long as you read the book and do the homework, you should get at least a B. He doesn't give extra credit and if you have a problem, it's hard to get some help out of him. If you can take him - take him.

My impressions of Dr. Bardo varied greatly throughout the year, even within the class. Sometimes he seems like a real hardass, other times he makes top-notch capital jokes that only a Brit can. Anyways, all his tests are multiple choice, and as long as you read and know the basics of accounting, you should be fine.

Dr. Bardo is so funny. To the untrained eye he may seem like a real jerk but if you actually listen to him he is funny. Yes he does go off on tangents and talks about weird stuff sometimes but i think his accent is hillarious. As far as the class goes if you go to class and attempt the homework the tests are easy. They are just multiple choice and pretty straight forward.

Ok I came into managerial accounting with an A in fund. of accounting. One would think that you would also be able to do well in the next course. Well i was f*cking mistaken. All I managed to learn was how far behind the US is compared to Europe. I learned to have my notebook, text book, calculator, and pen out before he started class. If you didnt he would stand in the front of the room and make you look like a complete idiot. I swear I would buy this ahole a ticket back to britian, just so I wouldnt have to sit through another class. Dont get me wrong, Bardo is an ok guy when he isnt talking about accounting, but he sucks at teaching the material. He would rather you do it yourself because he is a lazy old man. Screw you Bardo

First of all it is true that he acts like a hard ass. It's not just at the beginning of the class it's the whole time. He pretty much thinks everyone is completely dumb if you don't know the answer to any of his questions in class. He forgets that he was supposed to teach the sh*t in the first place. I had to teach myself the whole time. Not once did I learn anything from him. I read the book and took notes while I was reading just so that I could get a semi-good grade on the exams. I hate this guy so bad. He is by FAR the WORST professor I've ever encountered. AVOID HIM!!! Take any other accounting professor if you can!

At the beginning of the year he tries real hard to act like a hard ass and act like everyone is going to fail, but he lightens up later on. His tests and quizzes are real hard. You do not really need to read all of the chapters, but you should do and understand all of the problems if you want to do well. Classes consist of him yelling at some one making them feel stupid, then complaining about how the U.S. sucks, then he has the students explain the problems becuase he does not know how to do them himself. I did not like him.

Dr Bardo absolutely horrible. First of all, he gives absolutely no feedback from the quizzes, and most of all, half the class is wasted by him lecturing you about not having your notebook out on time, not studying hard enough, or not being interested enough. He loves to humiliate students so don't ever ask any questions in class. Even if you say the right answer, he will say that it is wrong because "you were not thinking of it the right way". He will also yell at you if he thinks that you got the answers out of the book because he thinks that is a sign of being an unoriginal thinker.

Ok. So I read about all the comments and decided that he can't be that bad. Boy was I wrong. Not only does he love being a know-it-all, but he doesn't teach! Every class he lectured about daily events and nothing from the material, so unless you're a "do-it-yourself" kind of person and plan on teaching yourself the textbook, don't bother! After the first QUIZ, I think about 1/3 of the students dropped the class. How do I know? I'm retaking the class (w/ a different prof.) with the drop-outs! All in all, please avoid him!

I thought the subject was interesting but I was the one teaching it to myself. The first couple days of class he'll act like a real hard ass to scare you. There was about 10 people that dropped out after the first test. His tests aren't the hardest but they are not easy. Don't flip through pages, look at the clock, fall asleep or look at the ceiling while he's talking. He flipped out once or twice. He seems to grow on you and you actually start to like the guy. I dont' think he's all that bad. He wants you to do well deep down inside.

Bardo starts out like he hates each and everyone of us but that is because he wants the slackers out. Don't go to class if you have the tests, cause you will waste your time. He doesn't teach the material at all. I taught it all to myself from the book. He really doesn't care if you are there or not. He is really funny and tries to get the class to interact but I think everyone was scared of what he would say if they spoke up. So everyone just sat there while he goes over the homework. If you don't have the tests and accounting is not your thing, watch out cause you have to do some work to get a B. There are only 5 tests and if you mess up on one you really have your work cut out for you. His questions are pretty straight forward if you read material and understand it.

i'm not too sure about bardo. sometimes he can be really funny and nice and other times he can be a complete prick and almost scary. he constantly told us that if we didn't plan on working then we should get out. he would put students on the spot that didn't do their homework and yell at them in front of the whole class. besides all that, he was really nice if you went to him for help outside of class or if you had any questions. make sure you keep up on the problems and the reading though, because he doesn't really teach, he just goes over what is in the book. so you kinda have to learn it yourself.

He is a very smart man, lots of experience under his belt. He told my class the first day of the semester that we were all going to fail and to withdrawl from the course. He is very hard on you, and likes to humiliate you in front of everyone. Don't ever ask your friend a question in class. Sit there, keep your mouth shut and your eyes open or you're in trouble. Do the homework too!! He randomly collects names and soc. security numbers from those who don't do it. But... he does seem to be a nice guy out of class. Tells some funny stories about his life experiences and such. Took me a whole semester to realize he is hard on you because he wants to see you do well. Stay away if possible, if he's the only choice.. I suggest change your major.

Bardo will teach you very little. Any knowledge you get out of the class will be from you own efforts. However, he is pretty funny and if you get the multiple choice tests from someone (everyone seems to have them) you can get an A no problem. However, for the responsible student, an understanding of accounting is very important in the business world and you may want to consider the fact that while you may get an easy A, you will not learn very much from this professor.

This class really wasn't hard, but it was made difficult by Bardo. The guy pretty much sits on a chair behind a computer for the entire class period. There is very little interaction with the students in the class. He goes off on topics that no one wants to hear or even cares about. On the first day off class he said not bother e-mailing him because he will not respond. He made it seem as if he didn't want students coming to his office for help. I asked him to explain a problem for me and he told me to figure it out myself and get back to him later if I was still having trouble. He would give no assistance during tests. He said everything we need to know is in front of us. Bardo has no personality at all. I had him during Term 5 of the summer and I hated going to class each morning. He made it almost unbearable just because of his attitude. Class wasn't hard, but I don't feel like I learned very much in it.
