Take him! He is nice professor who is very willing to work with students if they need any help. The class is interesting. He explain. Everything well and shows a lot of video clips based on the topics taught. The exams are all multiple choice, but you have to know the information because a lot of the questions are applying the things you have learned. He drops your lowest exam score and there is lots of extra credit opportunities. There is an unlimited amount of extra credit that you can get. Doing online surveys on the sona system gets you .5% extra credit on your final grade and those can really add up. Also going to psych events on campus and writing a one page reaction paper to it gets you 1% extra credit on your final grade and all the group activities in class are .5% extra if you get a certain amount of questions right.

Easiest A I've ever gotten. 5 tests, drops your lowest score. Participation is 20% of you grade. Loads of extra credit offered, I never studied on exams and had a 78% average, this is because I accumulated 16.5% extra credit throughout the semester, making my grade a 94. Easy A, and you'll learn a little too.

Toru is a great guy and very personable. You get 4 tests @ 20% of your grade a piece, dropping the lowest one of the bunch. The remaining 20% is comprised of class activities that are basically a way of keeping attendance (very easy). He gives so much extra credit its ridic, each 2 page summary of an event gives you 1% on your final grade. This tallies up really quick if you do a few of them. The class was really interesting too which was surprising.

This was my second class with Dr. Sato, and I enjoyed it much more than the first one! This was the first time he taught the class, and I thought he did very well! The material was easy to understand, in both the book and note form. He was very understanding and helpful with whatever the students needed. I highly recommend the class and the prof!

I loved this course! The material was extremely interesting, and I thoroughly enjoyed going to class! The text book was written by Toru, and he gave it to us at the beginning of the course....so, no text to buy! The notes pretty much followed the book, and the exams were fairly easy if you studied. There was one paper due that was on three events we had to attend on campus, and then we had to relate what we found out at the events to a concept or theory in the text, a few in class assignments, one out of class assignment, plus several opportunities for extra credit were also offered. This prof. made it very easy for his students to succeed if they were willing to put some effort into the course. Also, Toru is one of the nicest people I have ever met! I would most definitely recommend this prof. for this course, or for any course he teaches for that matter. I wish I would have taken more of the courses offered by him during my time at Ship! Stay COOL Dr. Sato!!!! : )

Dr. Sato is an excellent professor. The material is interesting, and he does a great job of presenting it. He also uses many video clips throughout the semester to make things a little more entertaining. There are many chances for extra credit, and you are able to earn as many bonus points as you want. Also, if you are happy with your grade going into the final, you don't have to take it. Overall, I loved being part of Dr. Sato's class and found the experience to be quite rewarding.

Sato is simply awesome. He gives 5 exams the whole semester. 4 exams and the final. If you do good enough on the first 4 exams, no final. He gives 2 point quizes just about every day, and you can use your notes. He is extremely easy. Hardly any homework ever. Take this class if you can.

Very nice guy. In class you take notes from an overhead projector. He gives examples, explains well, and you earn class points very easily by answering a question at the end of class using your notes that you took during the class. The question is extremely easy. Tests are multiple choice and pretty easy. Not a bad class at all.

I personally like Dr. Sato, but I will try to be unbiased in my review of him. Dr. Sato taught using overheads, whereby all important information was on the overheads. He did not require a text book (one would not be useful anyway) and he listed online readings that were not necessary, but aided in understanding the subject matter. Dr. Sato also showed video clips pertaining to relevant information, and he even gave the opportunity for up to 12% extra credit added on to your final grade. His tests were very easy and required very little studying. There were four tests, and participation points at the end of each class, whereby you answer a question and are allowed to use your notes.

Sato is real laid back and he is an all around nice guy. Every class we take notes and then we would answer a question from our notes for an attendence grade. Tests were not too bad, you have to study for them though. And he has lots of extra credit available.

I am taking his class now and I am really enjoying it. He makes the material interesting and we sometimes do group work, we watch video clips, so it is quite interactive. I don't know why some others say its boring cuz it's one of the least boring classes I have had so far. The class time just seems to fly right by. Has interesting stories and they are not just for our entertainment. They are almost always relevant to the course material. You do lots of in class assignments. They are easy but you'd better go to class or else you lose points. Tests are not as easy as some of these other comments would make you believe. Save yourself the agony and take the test on the test day. Don't do a make-up test. They are harder than the test for the class (you also get a grade deduction for make-ups. eek!). I didn't know and took a make-up test and regret it now. It's a great class if you really wanna learn though. He's a really nice guy too.

Dr.Sato is a wonderful prof =) I really enjoyed his stories, however his class is boring 95% of the time. The positive side to his class is that there is no book so you save some money, he's a great guy, and he gives a ton of extra credit. The negative side is that (as stated) the class is boring, you take a billion notes, the extra credit is only worth 1 pt per event (which can last up to 2hrs w/ a 1pg paper) and the test are okay. Many people said he's easy take him n so on. His class was a breeze for me but I'll warn you the test aren't as easy as everyone puts them on to be. Glance over the notes once n you'll get a C... if you want an A or B study!!! Overall he's not bad but a little boring =(

The quizzes are one question(an easy definition that's in your notes usually), ask your neighbor, use your notes, use your book, ask the prof. That defines the class right there. It is very simple, yet you actually learn about psychology. Sato can seem a little out of it and strange sometimes, but he's very good at teaching this course. All the notes are on overhead, tests are straight from the notes and lectures, you don't need the book. Study guide online, probably the easiest class I've had at Ship, yet it wasn't boring either. I would take Sato again if I ever needed another psych class.

Dr. Sato is a very young prof. Sometimes he seems real disorganized and kind of walks aroudn the room alot. He is really good at teaching this class. He really wnast everyoen to do good in his class. He gives little mini quizzes that are one question at the end of some classes. The thing about thq uiz is you can look in your notes for the answer, your book, or the person sitting next to you. He also puts up all the study guides online for the tests that is a huge help. Overall a good prof.

Dr. Sato was a good prof. Nothing was real tough in the class but not too easy and he gave many chances for extra credit. The notes are right off of the overhead which can get pretty boring. He tries to liven up the class with video out-takes and little group "tests" which he uses for attendance. Overall I learned a little in the class but felt I didn't apply enough. Still a good class and a good prof. Money well spent!!!
