Probably the easiest class I have ever taken in my life, including high school. He's laid back and just really doesn't care. ALL you do is memorize the multiple choice at the end of each chapter, and he picks a few out of each and that's the tests. I went to class about 30% of the time and got an A+. If you care about computer science, then I wouldn't suggest him. But if u don't and just want a very very easy grade, this is the guy for you!

He is a laid back teacher and is pretty easy. He assigns about 15 programs due whenever you feel like showing him. there are 3 tests which he gives you the problems that will be on the test before hand. All i did was do these problems and memorize them and got A's on the test. You dont have to be a comp sci major to take this guy.

I have learned alot in the 3 classes i've had with him. He gives lot's of short programming assignments. You think assembly is going to be hard, then after schroeder's class you see how easy it is. you really can't go wrong taking him.

His classes are easy, he does always cut class short, but he can get away with it because he packs a lot of knowledge into that 30-40 minutes. He doesn't overload you or drone on and on about boring shit. That's why he keeps the classes short. The programming projects aren't bad, but I didn't pay attention and totally screwed up the last one. The tests are tough, but he curves well and I got a good grade. He's a pretty good prof, especially considering how damned boring Microcomputer architecture can be.

Show up for the first week and for tests and do the one 2 page paper you have to do and its an easy class. He knows its boring and doesnt care really about you being there. I got a B with only going to the first two weeks of class and class for tests. 4 tests, one paper.

I had this class as a gen. ed. and it was basically a joke. It was pointless to me because I'm not a computer science major and he tried his hardest to make it interesting for the rest of us. The two 'exams' were painfully easy and one of them was open notes. He even gave us the questions for the first test. There is no final and the final project is a powerpoint presentation that you can do on whatever you want. This class is so easy if you need to waste a gen. ed. Take him.

Well, if you're truly computer science, then you're lazy and don't really want to do much work... so to not take schroeder is just stupid. Anyone can tell he'd rather be on the golf course than in class, if indeed he shows up. By no means am I complaining.. he's just THAT good of a teacher.. he needs not be there the whole time for you to do well in the class ;). If you have the choice, choose him.

The guy comes into class with the book in one hand and a coffee mug in the other. He'll lecture straight out of the book for 20-40 minutes, then will be the first one to leave. The exams are, for the most part, the bold words from the book. Multiple Choice/Short Answer/Problems = EASY Optional Final if you want to replace your lowest test grade. In class labs every friday that take 5 minutes to do then you can leave. He doesn't even look at them, just puts a check on them and hands them back.

Class:Web Programming (A)

I signed up for Web Programming (a graduate level course, by the way), thinking I could improve my website creation skills and learn something. But alas, all I learned was how incredibly annoying .NET can be. For one, the book we used (Database-Driven Web Sites), was horribly written. It insults your intelligence by holding your hand through every single step of the lesson, teaching you only how to follow directions. I could go on and on about how terrible the book was, but this is about the professor. He was as lost as the rest of the class was. He reads directly from the book during every class, so there's really no reason to come to class. All that was required of us was to complete the end of chapter case-studies and to complete the final project at the end of the course. Attendance is optional. You use ASP.NET to build the webpages and by the time you finish the course, the very utterance of the word ".NET" will make you cringe. Everyone in the class experienced problems with it, mostly strange build errors that no one (including the clueless prof) could fix. Anyway, my advice to you: do NOT take the course if either (1) this prof teaches it or (2) it's done in .NET.

This man was one of the hardest profs that I have had in the 3 years that I have been attending shippensburg. He is always in his office when he says he is, but the problem is that even if you try to get help from him you dont learn n e thing. It is a waste of time even going to see him cause he will just sit there and wait for you to say something even if you tell him you are lost and have no idea what is going on. He just looks at you like you are stupid because you dont understand how to do one of his assignments.

Do NOT take him for web programming, he was learning this stuff himself as we were. Also, he only teaches .Net and Visual Studio. So if you like to be tied to the microsoft monopoly and learn straight from the book take him.

Professor Schroeder's class was a waste of time. Two out of Three days of the week he didn't lecture, and he just let us work on our projects. He gave us very little feedback on how we did, and for the last month of class he rarely even came to the classroom. There were no tests or quizzes in this class. Just about 5 small projects and one Large project. We were given vague due dates that kept getting extende continually through the semester. If you want an easy professor, he's a good choice, but If you're looking to learn a lot about something, please avoid him.

I first thought this guy was not all too bad, that is until the semester continued.... guy moves way too fast, has horrible hand writing, and the icing on the cake is that he made his final at 8:00am on friday. (kind of a dick move...) the only thing that saves this guy is that his exams arent all too horrible

I got shoved into his class as a freshman due to my lack of a major. If you're not a computer science major, don't take him. He doesn't explain things very well and often doesn't know what he's doing himself (I'd ask him questions about what was wrong with my program and he would just give up). I had three of my compsci friends helping me to study, and I only managed to pull a C because of his curve. He's a decent guy, but don't take him if you just want to give computer programming a try.
