Class:chemistry, a cultural approach (D)

He's a really nice man. However, if you look just close enough, just deep enough, past those eyes, you can see the fire of hell incarnate. He doesn't believe in mulitple choice questions because they're "misleading" and "tricky." But he can throw a pop quiz every 2 weeks... nothing "tricky" about that. So yeah, he'll ask you questions on these quizes which include nonsense that you're supposed to remember from the EVER SO entertaining 1982 chemistry films he makes you watch, and then toss on a few questions from his higher up chemistry courses. The funny thing is, he admits that he knows we're all only in the course because it's an elective, and that none of us really give a damn. So you think, "okay, maybe this won't be so bad." Think again. Half the class will drop by mid semester. The tests are curved so bad that a C becomes and A because no one can get above a 70% on a test. Something's wrong when 75% of the class fails every test.. and I really don't think it's that all the students are dumb. The main problem is that he's used to teaching higher level chem courses... with kids who care about chemistry, and who have back ground knowledge. So to take him for a bs elective is suicide. Again, he is a really nice guy... not teacher. After all this typing, I think he retired anyway, so this is all for naught.
