Taylor is a great professor. I've learned so much from him-- be warned, if you take this class be prepared to work!!! You have a semester long group project where you put together an ad campaign.

I really liked Taylor and he was pretty easy even for someone who isn't a Marketing major. This was the first online class I ever had and he was very responsive and seemed like an all around nice guy. A lot of the class was the discussion board and participation, but most of it was opinion. If you did the questions and commented a little on other people's things you would get a decent grade for the week. Two projects that weren't very difficult at all at the end. Take him for an online class if you can!

At the beginning of the semester, I hated this man, now I think he's my favorite professor. He is more effective for Sales management than business to business, but no matter what if you're a marketing major you'll have to take him for Marketing Analysis unless something changes. Advice is to take him for Sales Management ahead of time. He does expect a lot, there are case projects at the end of the semester which take awhile to figure out and he expects an almost perfect presentation....you also have to do a 2 page case analysis for the other five cases you aren't presenting. Along with that, there are a lot of in class assignments and his tests are long, but if you know the mass of material you will do well. In sales management, he also has you do an interview or job shadow a sales rep and write a paper on it. His classes are a lot of work, but he's really a nice guy who will do anything to help his students both in class and to prepare you for job interviews/experiences. Also, taking him for another class lets you know what he expects with case analysis' and preps you for the marketing analysis class. I would definitely take Taylor again.

This was the second time I had Taylor and the first time I had him, he wasn't my favorite. He does, however, want you to succeed and learn. He will always try and help you. He truly cares about his students and wants to see us improve that is why he can be hard on us. More then likely every marketing major has to take him for strategy and he isn't that bad, he could be worse. Give him the benefit of the doubt.

First and foremost- don't buy the book. The only time you will ever even need the book is for the two cases you will be doing with a group- you can always photocopy a group members book (the cases are the bulk of the grade- there are no exams). This man really has no clue what he is doing- I did a search on a lot of the assignments listed on our course outline, and found them on another professors page, from another university- THE SAME SYLABUS! If you ever have any questions about a case or something- he will probably look through the last semester's submissions (b/c if you do a good job on the cases, he asks to keep your's- probably so he can learn what it's all about). In short- take him if you want a fairly easy class- don't take him if you want to learn anything new.

Class with Ron Taylor is boring and a waste to say the least. Why not just get the book on tape and sit at home and listen to it? He asks for several assignments... but never shows any indication of handing them back... or even that he has taken the time to look at them. It takes at LEAST 3 weeks to get tests back, and I'm still not sure if he will EVER hand back our group presentaions. This class is just a waste.

As long as you go to class you will learn from him. For his exams, he wants you to know everything in detail and his first exam is 7 chapters long! There is a 200 pt. group project you must do well in to do well in the class. This project is at least 40 typed pages!

He was a good prof. I learned a lot from him and did pretty well on the tests. He has you do this group project though and it is hard to do. We had some problems with our group project that were uncontrollable on our part and he took points off from our group project even though we could have done nothing to prevent this. He wasn't fair on this so my grade suffered. I still learned a lot from him.
