I would like to start by saying Dr. Tucker is probably one of the nicest profs. at Ship. Her class isn't easy but neither is the subject. If you actually pay attention in class (which is hard to do) you will see that she actually does teach and gives you hints for what to watch out for on the tests.

This class was not bad at all. Dr. Tucker is very nice and there is not a whole lot of work for the class. Just little in class assignments, 2 homework assignments, 2 exams, and an easy presentation. Classes weren't too bad...most were half way interesting. I recommend taking Tucker over some of the other professors that teach this class.

Dr. Tucker is a very nice lady. She's hard to hear, so I would recommend sitting near the front. As long as you show up to all classes and give it some decent effort, you'll be fine. Unlike other posts I've read, she does explain the problems and even posts solutions on blackboard. I think the biggest problem people have is playing on the computer while she is teaching, and then they don't know how to do the problems. Make sure you read over the assigned chapters, which is like 3 per exam. Pay extra attention to the bolded areas, know how to do the problems she goes over in class, and you shouldn't get less than a B.

I have read some of the negative comments from other students and what it boils down to is participation. If you read the chapters (before class), sit within the first 3 rows, and participate in the lecture, you will do well. If you sit in back, well, your loss -- feel free to join the ranks below. Dr. Tucker does have the knowledge and will give any assistance needed in addition to class time.

A nice enough lady, but not a good professor. Cannot garner students' attention, doesn't speak loud enough for anyone to hear, doesn't pose thought provoking questions. She can read from the book and show you some slides from the book, but does not relay this into real life experience. I left this class quite disappointed. Some people are meant to teach and some are not, she is not.

She is by far the worse Prof she does not teach at all she just reads from the slides. Your better off not even going to class because it will not help stay away. She is a nice lady but tests are impossible and she can't teach.

HARD AS THEY COME only because shes an idiot who cant teach and looks like a horsey. You will spend more time on IM during the class than trying desperatly to hear what the lunatic is trying to say- even though it doesnt make any sense anyway. shes a loser from texas who should be sent back to her own world east of the "suskaharna"

Dr. Tucker, while she's a nice person outside class, is not a very good professor. I sat front and center, and I had an extremely hard time hearing her because she speaks very softly (I can't imagine how hard it must have been for the people in the back). In addition, when I could hear her, her teaching style was so confusing, it didn't matter if I could hear her or not. The bottom line is that if you have the opportunity to take someone else, do it!

She will not give anyone an A. I worked my arse off and got A's on the first two tests and somehow end up with a B. She wont even give an A on the easy presentation we had to do. But she is definitly easier than Kohn. [] Not as bad as everyone thinks she is, just wont give an A

Dr. Tucker is a very helpful person. She may not be the loudest speaking person, but she does know what she's talking about. Her teaching techniques aren't the greatest, but if you have a problem with ANYTHING, she'll more than glad to help or answer questions. I recommend taking her. Her tests are a little on the hard side, but as long as you do the assigned homework, you'll be fine.
