Dr. Williams assigns a lot of easy work. we do group projects and they are straight forward. she also gives out quizzes pretty much every week. I never read the book but the quizzes are 5 questions for each chapter and its ok, not too hard. her exams however are hard. I studied her notes that she prints out for class so you never need to take any. she likes to ask questions on exams that no one ever remembers. for example: percentages of gases, numbers, etc. there are 4 exams including the final. I hate science so I would never take a class with her again. however, some people say it's an easy class. so it's your choice whether to take her class or not.

Dr Williams changed my life. She has great office hours recycle and is available to see any student at any time. Her lectures are normally powerpoint with a lab every couple weeks. We had a field trip to the creek recycle and we did a lot of group work. Even though it seemed recycle like half the class fell asleep sometimes, she still found an effective way to show me my wrong doings and make a change recycle and help the environment in everything I do.

This class was recommended to me because it was easy and we need our gen eds. Williams prints out all the slide shows (good for the printing quota I suppose) and leaves room for notes. As long as you are at least half away and look over the notes before the test, most of it should come easy. It is hard to stay awake because she has the lights off all class and she just talks a lot, but its not difficult at all. The in-class assignments are in groups and they are very easy. I would take this class with her!!!!

Come on, yes, SCIENCE is going to be hard as ever in college, but this class has NO LABS, and NO MATH what so ever used at all. There are small write-ups involving current conditions with water, soil, air, etc. There is nothing hard about this class except that the tests are not MEMORIZATION, they are APPLICATION. So, when you study ALL her notes, which she even prints out for you off blackboard, just APPLY what you are studying instead of MEMORIZING it. Just a simple groupwork class.

She went out of her way to get me enrolled in the class even though it was full. She would be lost without her powerpoint presentations. (This class almost put me to sleep on several occassions.) Several group activities are required. She missed about 5 classes because she was sick, then went to a conference. In the process, she screwed us around on a project that was due (changing due dates, etc). This messed a lot of people up because the class was confused about the final due date, and she refuses to accept late projects. The class was boring, but she was OK. I would take her again.

This was a great gen.ed. class. I learned so much. Pro. Williams is very insightful with information on the environment. This would be a great class for people who love the great outdoors. She offers extra credit which you can utilize up to two times (10 points each). She givse you the print out of the slide shows. Her tests are easy if you look over your notes. Also you and your group do labs throughout the semester that helps to pull up your grades. The ONLY downfall to her class is it can be VERY boring, because you already have the slide information in front of you and she just reads it off. But I would recommend this class to anyone that likes nature and needs a easy gen. ed.

Dr. Williams made this class really interesting. While this class is not too hard, you do have to work. However, I thought Dr. Williams explained everything thoroughly and creatively. I got more out of this class than I thought I would, especially since I was only taking it for b/c of gen.ed. requirements. Overall--- well worth it to take the class with this prof!!

This was the easiest class I ever took at Ship. [] I spent no time studying, let everyone else do the labs for me and I got an A. The best gen ed to ever take. Take her, I bought the book and I never opened it. We had quizes from the book but I never read and got 4/5 or 5/5 on them. Soooo easy. The tests are right from the slide handouts she gives you so all you have to do is read over them before the test and you have an automatic A.

Dr. Williams teaches a great conservation and natural resources class. I actually found that I enjoyed learning about aspects of conservation, and our involvement in them. Sort of eye opening! There are several assignments, 5 quizzes, and four exams, so there are plenty of chances for a good grade in this class. She also offers extra credit for attending seminars that relate to the field of conservation. I would recommend this professor, as she is a very nice person, and she knows her stuff!

I really like Dr. Williams. She is very into her teaching. She cancels class a lot and usually isn't there on test days. But she is a great prof. She is there whenever you need ANYTHING!! Her tests are pretty easy if you pay attention in class. You don't need to buy the book because her test questions come right from the notes. I don't think she grades hard on the case studies. I did mine half ass and I still got 24/25 and 25/25. You have to do a really really bad job to get a low grade. If you have a chance to take her, DO IT! you wont regret it!

Prof. Williams is a good professor who seems very dedicated to the subject matter (which makes a difference!). Her lectures are very organized, which is good because you'll take plenty of notes. She also offers plenty of extra credit opportunities.

Dr. Williams is your perfect profesor. She teaches well, is extremely organized, and is a really nice lady. I was afraid to ask her a question b/c she seems so into her teaching, but I went to her office one day and she treated me so kindly. I really like her and am looking forward to taking more classes with her.

Ignoring the fact that she is dull and the class itself is boring as all get out, she can be extremely rude. I asked her specifically about an assignment because I was unsure of my answer and didn't want to get it wrong. Her response was somewhere along the lines of "It's really not an exact science, as long as you're close it's fine. I won't take points off." She took points off. When I spoke with her about it she blew me off and then later after I tried to speak with her again she got very upset and said 'Fine I'll give you the point' in a very rude manner. She also referred to another section of the assignment as too vague... when I inquired about that - making known I wasn't trying to argue, I just wanted to know so I don't repeat the same mistakes - she couldn't tell me why she marked it as such and took points off. In my opinion if you cannot explain why you took points off- don't take points off. She always seemed nice to me, boring but nice, until this incident.

Most of the things said in both of the negative and positive sections of this teacher are true. It's true, there are some things that make her a good teacher, but it is my opinion that the her negatives far outweigh her positives. Let me start by pointing out that I got an A in this class. That's right, I got an A and I'm still giving this teacher a negative review. Here's why, SHE MAKES HER CLASS ALMOST UNBEARABLE TO SIT THROUGH. I honestly slept through a lot of her classes. Luckily, most of the material is common sense, which made her tests easy. Despite her easy tests, getting an A in her class is not easy. I don't know if she realizes it, but this is a GEN-ED CLASS. However, we literally had a 2-4 page paper due every 1-2 weeks. Sure, she gives 4 tests that are relatively easy (and she gives you the choice to take multiple choice or short essay tests), but I wrote more papers for this class than I did for all of my other classes combined. That's saying something, because I had 300 level English course this semester. I guess if you don't mind doing a LOT of work, this isn't a bad class to take, but I warn you, it's incredibly hard to stay awake in class. However, if you would like to have some time for other classes, I wouldn't recommend taking this professor. The gen-ed grade is not worth the amount of time that you have to spend outside of class to do well in this class!

I never thought I would find such a hypocritical teacher. She doesn't practice what she preaches. She kills more trees in this class than all of my others combined. She makes copies of her slideshows and hands them out in class, then expects you to pay attention to her while she reads over them for 2-1/2 weeks. She's very pissed off all the time when she speaks about people damaging the environment and her projects are a joke: they're easy but take time. Put your time into the projects and papers because they're a huge part of your grade. The extra credit assignments are kind of fun and worth the 10 points you receive. Don't miss class. If you miss more than 2 she butchers your grade, as it says in the syllabus. I know it's as boring as it gets, but take a nap rather than not show. Outside of class Dr. Williams is friendly and helpful, but during her lecture she's angry all the time. I would suggest taking another teacher other than Williams, but if you want long, tiring lectures in dark halls about fishing villages...be my guest.

Professor Williams is horrible at keeping your attention. She uses power point and simply reads right off of the screen. She also prints out at least one packet a week for you, so that you can follow her in the reading of her "discussions". (some conservationist) We had 4 tests and at least a quiz a week. We also had to do a survey which is a big part of your grade. She was by far the worst professor i had here.

I would definitely not recommend Williams. Her tests were very difficult, not because of the matirial but because she wants you to read her mind. Even if the answer was correct or you had the correct concept she will mark it as wrong. She usually won't give partial credit even if it's partly right. Her teaching style is bad too. Her class is very monotonous and she has a sour attitude. It seems like she is contemptuous of her students. She does give out outlines to the class which can be helpful if you can straight out memorize the contents. I will not be taking any more of her classes in the future.

Ok .. I know some of you thought this professor was great, but I do not believe so. If you have a chance to take another professor do so. She grades hard on the case studies that you have to turn in weekly which are 25pts. I got a low grade on the first one and I worked my ass off! But one positive thing about this prof. is that she is there for you when you need her and willing to talk to you.

Maybe it was just because I had a 3:30-4:45 class (after a whole day of others) but it was one of the hardest classes to sit through. Attendance is required, and although you get all the slides, the tests have A LOT of information and can be pretty tricky. It wasn't bad, but I think it could have been better. She's really nice and considerate, however, and there are some group projects that break up the monotony.

This professor is easy going. She doesn't do too much with class. Most of it is laid back. She gives you packets on everything and tells you what is testable and what isn't. Her tests are very difficult though. Do not underestimate the tests. You better study your ass off for them. The only thing hard about her is the tests. She is a pretty good prof though and she is understanding.

Easy class.. You have all of the info that is going to be on the tests in the notes she prints out for you. The class is so boring though, because she just reads off of a powerpoint. And you go through a lot of information. You can get 20pts extra credit which is nice, but the tests take a lot of time to study for. If you have a background of atmosphere you'll be fine, if not... this class will be hard.

Dr. Williams is very passionate about her teaching. She is always available to help students too. Class gets canceled a lot too. You have the choice of either taking multiple choice or essay tests. The tests are fairly easy. However, the class is sort of boring. Almost every class is spent writing notes from a PowerPoint presentation.
