Dr. Zientek's class was a relief compared to other classes I have taken. She can be boring and cheery, but her tests come directly from her powerpoints. All you have to do is read them a few times and pay attention in class and you'll get an easy A on the exams. There are only 3 of them in the semester. Her attendance policy sucks, so make sure you're in class. She has one audio tape assignment, where you record yourself reading a script, print out the script and complete a log. Not hard at all. You do like 3 worksheets per exam that were pretty much self-explanatory because they were about you haha. There's a 3 page paper at the end about how you deal with stress and what stresses you out, but it doesn't require much research because it's about you! Overall if you attend class, read the small powerpoints and just attempt to do the assignments, you'll pass with at least a B.

Zientek is a very formal teacher, and comes off very jovial and stuff, which can get on your nerves. She gives you a 10 page syllabus which seems over whelming, but she sticks to it like glue, and keeps you prepared throughout the semester. The exams arent hard if you study. And there's normally a lil assignment due everyweek. All around a good prof with good insight and experience to back it.

Subject: GO TO CLASS TO GET AN A  (Dec 24 2004, 11:53AM)

Dr. Zientek is a very nice lady yes, but she is very annoying as well. She lectures through class and won't let you out a minute early. I took this class as an easy elective, thinking I could get an A, and I ended up with a C. She takes a point off for every time you are unexcused from class which is really lame. I didn't know I was still in highschool. Since when do college professors monitor if you come to class or not? She also requires that you do all these stupid assignments as homework. They got to be a pain towards the end of the semester. If you are looking for an easy class, that doesn't require a lot of effort, I wouldn't suggest this class.

This class is so easy, its ridiculous. You have 4 tests and a bunch of homework assignments that are only worth 1 point a piece. That's where the problem is. Its stupid in the first place to have assignments that are only worth one point. But then they all must be typed as well. I completed an assignment, handwritten one day because the instructions on the paper clearly said "in the space below." When I handed it in she said she could "give me feedback but no credit." Then when I got it back it had all kinds of positive comments on it but I got no credit because it wasn't typed. I don't know why it has to be typed because apparently she could read my handwriting well enough to give me "feedback." Also, you lose points for being late and being absent, which really sucks because being there is so pointless. I learned very little that I didn't already know. She was also inconsistent with her methods. For the first test she gave us outlines for every chapter. For the second test she only gave us one chapter outline and for the third she gave us none. Sadly, in most cases there is no way to avoid taking her because she'll be the only one teaching the class but I'm just letting you know what you're getting into.
