Subject: Decent class...  (Jan 09 2006, 06:43PM)

Dr. Pritchard is a pretty good guy. Nice, easygoing, down-to-earth. Overall the class isn't too bad, you get one quiz, a couple of papers, and a final plan. Now, I admit the final plan is a pain, it gave me a LOT of grief during my last week there, but he said in an e-mail that he would be grading easily, and I got a B- in the class so I guess he did. Overall not a bad class, just put forth a little bit of effort and you should definitely survive.

Pritchard knows what he is talking about but doesn't always explain it well, especially when the students need to be walked through programs like quark. Other than that he was great. He is willing to help and is understanding. The projects are fun except for the stress of the deadlines, but he wasn't too harsh with that either. He tries to get you ready for the real world and cares about his students. He can come off strange but he's really nice.

Dr. Pritchard is a very interesting professor. I would suggest taking him if you want to learn something about Public Relations. The class was based on lab work in the mac lab. You basically work with another client, and make brochures, advertisements, and a newsletter. There is also an easy midterm, which was take home, and a final project which incorporates everything you did over the semester. Dr Pritchard is always available to his students, and plus he's also sooo adorable!! Take Him!!

dr. pritchard is really nice and funny. he is always around to help, but he can be a little rude if he thinks that you should know it when you don't. his class is pretty easy but you learn a lot. there is only one test and its open note. the final is a portfolio, which is just revisions of all the articles you did during the semester. take him if you can.

Dr. Pritchard is an excellent teacher. He's funny and treats his students like equals. There are never any suprises on the tests because he gives out a study guide for every one.

I havent quite completed his class yet but he's definately not hard. You really dont need the book because all the test material is from his notes and he gives you a study guide of the whole test ahead of time. He takes attendance on an average basis, so you can get away with missing class here and there. He actually makes class interesting because in our class its like a group discussion on the topic. The topics are acutally interesting too because we mostly talk about pop culture with a few facts added in here and there. Definately a good class to take with a good grade almost a definate. Just know the junk on his studyguides. Definately recommended. Pritchard is pretty nice because hes funny and doesnt treat us like hes so much better than us. Hes a good guy.

This guy is such a spaz! He's very energetic and is always moving around during class. His tests are very easy. He only takes role every once and a while so you could miss some classes without him noticing. I recommend him to everyone.

Hehehe...Bill Pritchard. This is one of the easiest and most interesting classes. It's basically all about pop culture over the past century. Pritchard is really cool cuz he's real laid back and kind of quirky. Like he has to be moving around constantly, but he moves all jerky and stuff. And sometimes he acts kind of like he's drunk, but he's so easy. He gives you a review sheet with everything on the test ahead of time, and it's all on his lectures, so you never need the book for anything. If you get a chance, take a class with Bill!

Im taking him right now and figure I would leave a comment on him because he's new and there won't be any comments on him other wise. He's a nice guy and likes open discussions in his class. One test so far and it was EXTREMELY easy. Gives a study guide before exams. Has kinda a funny voice and makes funny faces. And he LOVES Classic rock and Rock and Roll. Be prepared to listen to a lot of Rock and Roll history. All around: nice guy, good class, easy tests, take him.

I don't think that he tought the class that well. If I hadn't already known Dreamweaver I would have failed. He didn't explain things correctly, and my classmates were always confused. Overall, he's a nice guy and puts on a fun class. ONLY TAKE IF YOU ALREADY KNOW HOW TO BUILD WEBPAGES.

There is definately good and bad sides to his class. Bad: 1. he writes ALL OVER the board and its soooo hard to take notes. 2. He doesn't really inspire you to learn, just memorize the study guide for most questions, and then use common sense for the essays. 3. Advertising Advertising Advertising TV. That's all he talks about. it would be a great class I think if I were in broadcast or even PR, but not for print concentrations. We spent a day on books and a day on magazines. Whereas a whole week was devoted to TV and another to movies. And everything was tied in with ads. Good: 1. Easy class. You can not do the reading and still get an A. 2. I actually did learn some stuff, which I didn't realize until my dad and I started talking about ads...not that it's incredibly useful, but he does have some good things to say. I think one reason I wasn't thrilled with the class was its 5PM TR time slot. I usually have no trouble staying awake in class, but that one was a struggle.

This is a very fast paced class. Pritchard is new to Shippensburg. I'm not sure he really knows what he's doing yet. He jumps around a lot. Likes to write on his chalkboard. Take his notes. You don't really need to read the book. He goes over everything in class and most of it is common sense... TV, Radio, etc. He gives study guides before the tests. Know what's on them and you'll do fine on the test.
