Woeltz is a very good professor. I have him at 8am for cult diverse lit and granted it is an 8am so no one is awake but he is very good at teaching the material. He always picks very good books to read like right now I have to read a book about a spanish harlem drug lord. He makes them interesting. And you actually want to read them. He also gave us essays for a test in advance and let you take notes and use them for the test. He cancels class the one day for the test but we got to do the essay section outside of class.... he is a very good professor!

I can honestly say that I usually do not like reading. For this guy I would read anything! The books he chose for his class were actually interesting. I never minded going to his class. He was down to Earth and all around a great guy, as well as a great teacher. If you read the assigned reading you will do well. When I had this class I was in the mind set that drinking was more important than anything. If I actually cared I would have gotten an A. So please if you want to learn something for once take him if you can. He seriously is the best prof I've had yet at ship!

There are no words that can describe how awesome of a professor Dr. Woelz is! He is awesome. If you can't write papers well, and need a lot of help, take him! He has off the wall topics for papers, but it makes it really interesting. You barely have class, like 4 or 5 papers, and one group assignment. He is always available to see at good times of the day, and is a really easy class. TAKE HIM!

This guy is great. HIs hour and 15 classes never went over 50 min, he grades pretty easy no matter what you write, he cancels classes all the time and he gives a lot of take home stuff. All you have to do is read the books and you are great. Take him if at all possible.

Dr. Woeltz is the man. He cancelled a total of about 5 weeks worth of classes throughout the semester. We read 5 books, did 5 tests a few quizzes and thats it. Hour and 15 minute class never went over 50 minutes. I had him at 8 am and glad I took him instead of a better time. Not that hard of a grader either and funny. AWESOME! TAKE HIM! DO IT NOW!

Prof Woelz is an awesome professor. He is a funny guy and his classes aren't too bad. His tests are cake if you actually read the book, if you don't you will have a hard time. He gives you the essay topics the class before a test. He doesn't give pop quizzes. He is definitely a fun guy, and he even curses and makes fun of people alot. I would definately recommend him to anyone and I am planning on taking him again!

...take him. He cancels class all the time for no real good reason. You have "reading days" where you won't have class so you can catch up on your reading. He'll also cancel class alot to give you time to write your papers which are also pretty easy. He keeps the class interesting (especially considering we read "The Great Gatsby," which if you didn't read in high school you will quickly find out is the world's most boring book.) He jokes and curses a lot too. Take him.

Well actually i'm taking him now. but i have him for two classes, both college writing, and Intro to Fiction. This guy is awesome. Grading in college writing is somewhat tough, but i'm really bad at it, so i wasnt supprised. But other then that, i love the class, and i would take him again if he was offering any classes i needed. Oh and he likes to curse non stop, wich makes class amusing..

Woelz is a great professor. True, he may put on a rough exterior in the beginning of the semester but he realy does lighten up and you can joke around with him about stuff like drinking. He is somewhat anal when it comes to grading but the thing is, as already stated, you can re-write any and all of your essays to get your grade up...and if you do worse somehow, it doesn't change the original then. You are hardly there the last month of class because of the final project. He will cancel a whole week of classes at a time which is great. Final is an 8-10 page paper on any approved issue...you'll know what I mean if you take him and 8 pages isn't bad since he gives you like 100 years to do the damn thing.

I do have an extensive background in English and writing techniques...but if i was a Neanderthal I could've gotten an A in here. Woelz is a nice guy and he doesn't belittle his students when they make a mistake. He assigns papers that are worth test grades and smaller ones that are worth quiz grades. At the end of the semester you are allowed to rewrite any test paper in order to get a better grade. You basically never have class because he's always giving you time to complete your assignments. This class is laid back and there isn't a final, only a paper that's due the last day of class that he gives you crap-loads of time to do. Take this guy if you are concerned about keeping a high GPA.

Dr. Woelz didn't really strike me as a professor i would like. However, after you get past that initial project that has nothing to do with writing, he's a very good teacher. He assigns a lot of papers but they are easy three pagers. He likes to talk about gender roles a lot but the topics aren't hard. He assigns a research paper, and during that paper about every-other week class is cancelled because he has conferences with you. No final exam, only turning in your research paper and then you are done!

Dr. Woelz is tough teacher but knows his stuff. He was really effective and really helped me out with my writing and mechanics. He gives a lot of papers, but most of them aren't hard at all and all of them are based on your opinions, which makes it easier. He gives some quizzes, but not many. He grades the major essays (there are 3) kind of tough, but you have the chance to revise them. He was a little tough but helped me a lot. He's a good guy, likes to joke around and laugh but doesn't take a lot of crap. I'd recommend him if you want to improve your skills.

Woelz is a new guy, and pretty young. The first few weeks of class we spent on a project that didnt involve writing or research of any kind. We built a model of a building, and no i have no idea why! One thing I really liked about his class was that we didnt write about the normal historical or informative crap we have been writing about since grade school. We did things on like talk shows and stereotypes, all of which were opinion papers. A big negative for me was his grading system. He goes by the old school C as an average. He starts at C, and if u do an average job thats what u get, and he works up or down from there. Although he does allow for revisions near the end of the semester on all of the essays that were handed in. So, over all, Woelz is interesting and a good guy. I would take him again.
