Dr. Campbell is awesome. I had him three times in my college career, and people who have bad things to say just shouldn't be in college. His material is challenging, that is what college is about people! He's funny, intelligent, thought-provoking, and wants his students to learn. Yeah, he's a hard grader, but he actually wants you to LEARN. I liked the way he taught all of his classes. He's the BEST!

Dr. Campbell is laid back, and pretty cool. He is interesting and very smart. I took social influence so their were no exams except for weekly 10 point quizzes, but just to make sure you read... And read you will it is a reading intensive class... Hello it is college not high school AP psych class guys. Seriously all there is to do is a group project which is pretty easy, one paper it's not too bad, and one big group project, it will take time, but it's all manageable. Class is not over yet but I'm guessing a B+ or A for my final grade. I can't speak for social psych but as for psych of influence take him if you can, I love going to class even with it being 1:15 one!

Before I even had one class with him, I was nervous because I had read the stuff on shipunderground...with people saying that he and his tests were diffifult. We just had our first test today, and I am almost positive I got an A. It wasnt hard at all! It was very fair. The people that say his tests are hard are probably just too lazy to either go to class, take good notes, or study. Also, he gives great examples, and explains the concepts in a way we can easily understand them. I will be taking him again for another class at some point, I'm sure.

Dr. Campbell is awesome! He is really funny and always makes me smile when I'm in his class. I think his social psychology class is really easy, however, I am a psych major. You only have to complete 4 tests (which include a multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank and essay section),and a few 1-2 page papers. If you have absolutely no experience, or limited experience, in psychology, I suggest that you don't take this course. If you are a psych major, I think you'll find this course to be really straightforward and enjoyable.

I took Dr. Campbell for Socail Psych.. I was kind of scared going into the class from reading stuff off of here. I LOVE Dr. Campbell! I have nothing negative to say what-so-ever! You will have to work and study in his classes to earn a decent grade (hello it's called college! Not everyone goes for a reason!)Dr. Campbell is a really cool guy, while the stuff he teaches is kinda hard he will do an amazing job with examples you will remember and you are able to relate to. I'm re-taking him for Social Influence... I would LOVE it if he taught more classes and I got the chance to take him for a 3rd time! Seriously, take him!

Why would anyone give campbell a negative comment? He's a chill guy, the classes can be sort of bland at times, but the tests are pretty straight forward if you study your notes. TAKE CAMPBELL!

He is a wonderful professor, however you really need to work to earn a decent grade. Study hard to succeed, I wish I had. The only reason I got a C was because I didn't study hard enough, my grade is in no way a reflection on HIS teaching. He is a great teacher and always uses wonderful stories to illustrate his points

Dr. Campbell is a very nice professor that gets a raw deal on here. You gotta understand, these are college courses and unless you are willing to put in "college time," you will not perform well in his classes. Don't get it twisted, I struggled in his class, but I took it as a free elective and still made it out with a C. He supplements his difficult exams with weekly one page papers which bolster your grades. He really has a lot of fun teaching, and this was by far my favorite class I attended my entire college career. You will learn a lot of useful information which is actually practical in this class, which most professors cannot say about their teaching styles. Anyway, you can't judge what people are saying just because they did poorly in his class; I got a C and still recommend him to anyone.

I loved this class, and the course subject was very interesting. He does grade a little on the hard side, but he just wants his students to be precise in their descriptions of the concepts covered in class. There are four exams, some homework assignments, and a few presentations that are worked on with....you guessed it, a group. He used powerpoint for notes, and added some cool examples and some websites to visit. I would recommend this prof. for this class. Thanks for making class fun Dr. C.! : )

Dr. Campbell is a great professor! He uses power point slides for almost the whole class, but he uses funny stories or examples about the stuff being covered so that it is easy to remember or apply. His exams are rather difficult, but if you read the book(i can't stress that enough)and pay attention in class, then you will do fine. I suggest using the study guide that comes with the book because it helps a lot. Dr. Campbell is a great professor and I learned a lot from him. His class is fun and I recommend him, but only if you are willing to work hard!

Dr. Campbell was such an awesome teacher. His personality rocks!!!! He is so much fun in class and his tests actually are not hard at all as long as you look over the material a couple of times. All the notes are powerpoint and he puts the notes online at the end of the chapters before the test. Going to class certainly helps out too. The class is so much fun you'll want to go! Take Dr. Campbell!!!!!

Dr. Jamonn Campbell is amazing. He is one of the best professors I have had the priveledge to have for classes. His classes are always really interesting and since he is younger he really can relate to college kids. He tells funny stories that help you remember what is going on in class. His exams are on the harder side but if you study they aren't impossible. Take him if you can!

Dr. Campbell is an excellent professor. Attendance is not required but you're missing out on good information for the test that is not covered in the book as well as his funny stories if you don't come. His tests aren't difficult if you know the material. You must read and copy down all of his overhead notes to do well. I definitely recommend taking this professor.

This is another professor who rereads the book to the class. Maintain SOME degree of self-respect and teach the class. I CAN READ BY MYSELF without you wasting my time and rereading it to me. I could also save a lot of money that way. Also, the tests do not match up well with the book or the class. For example, the book spent almost an entire chapter discussing Individualism/Collectivism, and the test barely mentioned it. Also, he seems to like to pick minute, obscure concepts out of the book to test us on. And the group projects are a joke. Just because we are studying group dynamics doesn't mean we have to do everything in groups. Basically, I'm more than frustrated with him.

Subject: Do NOT take this Class  (Apr 22 2008, 07:42PM)
Student: Anonymous ()
Class:Intro to Group Dynamics  (--)
12 of 37 students found this review helpful.

This class is called Introduction to Group Dynamics. It is not an Introduction. It is a research class. He changes his grades based on his mood. One week you can write a paper and get a 5/5. The next week you can write the same quality paper and recieve a 1/5 on it. The class is seminar based but do not expect to be able to voice your opinion. Regardless of what you say the final answer comes from the professor and he will tell you that your views are wrong even when it is opinion based. If you do not like social psychology do not take this class as an elective it is not worth the workload and extreme stress and tension. The class environment is extremly hostile.

He is a descent prof but the stuff he teaches requires no education whatsoever. I mean, how do you get a PHD in teaching someone about the "foot in the door" phenomenon, or the "low ball effect", theyre self explanatory concepts that everybody knows about but people like Dr. Campbell are getting PHD's off this sh*t. After learning about all this general stuff then he throws a wordy, really hard test that gives nothing but hypothetical questions and he expects you to do good. Give me a break.

Sure, Dr. Campbell makes the class entertaining, and even makes sure we know that he reads what people say about him on this site (If that's truly the case, then why not post something yourself as a rebuttal?!? That's why it's there, you know!). I agree that the hypothetical questions are a pain because there is NO ONE CORRECT ANSWER except for his! In a way, you do feel as though you have to read his mind. I feel that I knew much of this material before entering the class, which made me end the semester wondering why I even took the course.

Well, the material seems really easy and common sense until test time comes around. He uses a lot of hypothetical questions that can be really confusing. The essays aren't bad because they are only worth 5 points. Make sure to read the chapters and take note off all the research that is mentioned, because a lot of that is on the test, including the essays.
