Subject: Not THAT bad  (Mar 04 2013, 10:06AM)

Sure, his classes are typically really boring, but he's actually really funny once you start talking to him. He has a kind of superiority complex, but he's allowed to because he really DOES know everything. He's really interesting, too, with all of his stories - this man has clearly lived a full life. He never assigns any homework, and as long as you study hard for his tests and quizzes, you'll do just fine (you just have to regurgitate what he lectures on and on about, the same things every single day). There's little to no group work, though, so if you can't sit through a lecture, Janifer is not for you. Like I said, he's not the best professor I've ever had, but I probably wouldn't dread it if I had to take another class with him if I absolutely had to.

Dr. Janifer's classes aren't so bad. Be warned that he will try to intimidate you in the beginning of the semester though. Don't let him get to you, he might call you out during class, but just be cool about it. For WIFYS, you have to write a lot of papers; but for his classes you can write about anything you want. He edits papers really well so just go through you paper and change what he says and you should be fine. He let's you out early a lot of the time so that's always a plus. He is available for help... just ask, don't be afraid of him. The final is easy, just write a paper in class.

Dr. Janifer is one interesting guy. He speaks in monotone but succeeds in intimidating you. As long as you keep up with your work, bring your book to class everyday, and do the corrections on the rough drafts, you'll be fine. He normally lets class out early. Right now it's more than halfway through the semester and I've stayed the entire class period one time.

Janifer was an awesome prof but had a lot of work...reading to be exact. I took him over the summer and the course was intense and fast paced. He is available to talk whenever needed and can always be reached by email. Just make sure when you are taking his essay exams use TONS OF DETAIL BUT DO NOT GO OFF TOPIC.

Dr. J is definitely a very intimidating guy. And has been everywhere and knows everything. I hated him at first... he scared the sh*t out of me. Once class gets rolling though he is a cool guy. He is actually a very nice person. He definitely knows what he is talking about and is very passionate about this subject. All I have to say is READ READ READ... the reading is soooo boring but it definitely helps you on tests. If you do not understand something about the reading he will give you a good explanation about it to help you read better. All in all I liked him the class was tough but it is definitely worth it.

All that is required for this class is to read every single small, short story he assigns. The 50 question quizzes he gives appear on the 4 tests which consist of 80 question quizzes which are all on blackboard as multiple choice. There are no papers. The only reason there are negative comments is because he does not teach, and all you do is teach yourself by reading. He does not ever ask in depth questions. As the subject says, JUST READ.

Ok this class is all about writing papers... if you can write a paper take this class because it is the only thing that u do. He really gets pissed if u dont come to class even thought there is no point. But he does tell awesome stories about his life. There are no tests or quizzes unless u piss him off enough, and he lets u out early most of the time if u r taking the hour and 15 minute class because he gets tired of talking about stuff. Sometimes u will come to class and he will just take ur paper and then u can leave. His grading on the papers is a little critical but he makes u submit a rough draft first which he corrects then gives back to u before u hand in the final copy so just fix the sh*t he told u to fix but to get a good grade have someone else check it too.

Dr. Janifer made this class extremely interesting, and challenged my thinking on many levels. The books required for the class are very interesting also, and there are movies that go with all of them which I recommend watching as the characters are far more believable when you can see them represented in a movie! The exams were not bad, and we had to answer discussion questions for every story, which were not that difficult. Overall I would recommend this prof. for this course online. Thanks for a great class Dr. J. : )

I would have got an A but I turned in a paper after class n he dropped my grade a whole letter, that was prolli the only thing i didnt like about him! Besides that he is a good teacher and the class was easy. All the papers are based on experiences and things of that nature. []

At first, I thought this guy was going to be awesome. The first day of class he basically talked about his life experiences, which was very interesting, but it went downhill from there. First, he does not care. He rarely honors questions and he will try to make you feel stupid in any way he can. He gets upset when people don't answer his questions, but once again, he makes you feel stupid in any way he can. His study guides are worthless. The tests and quizzes have such minor detail that even when studying for 8 hours straight (true story) it's incredibly challenging to know what he's looking for. He's just a rude guy to everyone. I tried so hard to like this guy for what he's worth, but he's simply a jerk and thinks he's better than everyone else (even though he barely knows how to use a computer). It's really a shame because there's no doubt that Janifer is very knowledgeable, he is just here for the money and could care less how you do in his class. Do not take.

I'm sorry. I don't usually do something like this, but this guy deserves negative comments. I understand that he's a professor and all, but at least he can have some type of heart to actually care about his students. I enjoyed how his essays were challenging, but . Didn't like how he would leave such rude remarks on my paper. For example, I wrote an essay about a certain religion that my family follows, and he wrote throughout the paper how what I was writing was wrong. I really do not recommend anyone to take this class.

Before taking the class, I had heard rumors that Dr. Janifer made every possible effort to turn every course he taught into an Ethnic Studies class...I was not disappointed. His "teaching" was a worthless assembly of ramblings about his childhood, and every test was a surprise because of this method. When I attempted to receive help in his office during hours (I had to skip a class to make them because he didn't accommodate otherwise, despite the syllabus he supposedly follows), he denigrated me and didn't answer a single one of my questions. I have been told that if you study for his class you can easily pass (these were people who didn't take Intro to Lit), but what is there to study. You can't pass a terms test with stories about a Chicago childhood, a Californian upbringing and a Millersburg education. Simply, he does not care about whether or not his students succeed or not, and he puts himself on a pedestal in every class.

Janifer was terrible. I was up late and woke up early one morning to do school work, and he called in front of the class that I was high, despite never causing an issue in the class, and not being high at all. After that he was terrible to me personally, but on top of that too everyone else as well. He would call you out and make you feel like an idiot, simply for not understanding something. He also had a very strict word limit that he refused to read past, yet on the final paper, I hit the word limit with good material in the paper, and simply for the fact that there was blank space at the end of the paper, he took off 15 points. That made no sense due to the word limit. He was a terrible teacher, I would have to go to tutors to understand things because if I, or anyone else ever asked him to re-explain how to do something he would basically just call you stupid for not understanding the first time. Avoid Janifer at all costs.

If you can avoid taking him,do it! He is arrogant and has no respect for his students. No matter what you say, your answer is always wrong. His tests are ridiculous! They are mostly all true/false questions and they are random and most of the time have nothing to do with the reading. In class, he doesnt talk about anything about the reading. He will just talk about himself and his life. He will mark questions wrong on tests and then gets defensive when you ask him about it because of course he always has to be right. I have failed all of his tests and I have A's in all of my other classes. Obviously there is a problem. Save yourself from misery and take someone else.

There are several things wrong with Dr. Janifer. First of all, the entire class is wasted on his personal stories that hold no meaning to the point of the class. Next, he teaches MLA format INCORRECTLY, then if you try to correct him he won't have it. Also, he purposely tries to intimidate his students and I watched him make a girl cry. I had gotten A's in every writing class I had encountered until this man decided a "very impressive" paper is only deserving of a B. He is outrageous and every time you go to this class a little piece of your soul will die.

I don't even know how to being to explain this professor. I can start by saying that Janifer is a great speaker/lecturer. Listening to his life stories and his vast stores of knowledge are fascinating and keep your attention during class. However, every bright side has a dark side. As a professor, Janifer fails. His tests are composed of a subjective portion which is composed of true/false which simply test you on whether or not you have read the material and 2 or 3 essays that require that you pay attention to his lectures and understand the reading material along with supplemental readings that he provides. I have noticed that his answer keys for the subjective questions are often incorrect so you may have to argue for some points back every now and then(he puts the tests on D2L and you take them during class in a computer lab). Oh, I forgot to mention that he does not provide the essay questions to you ahead of time; so you have no idea what they will be. This class is basically a handful of extra work and struggle simply for just a Gen Ed. I cannot stress enough how vital it is that you take notes during class and READ the book in order to get a decent grade. Class participation is also expected and he will get irritated if no one participates. So far, he hasn't given any other graded assignments other than tests and quizzes. I'm sorry if I've made him seem like the spawn of Satan, but it does take time to adjust to Janifer and a lot of studying outside of class.

Probably most horrible classroom experience. Too much reading and I'm not one to complain about reading but the reading assignments are too time consuming. Dude is a certified a*hole like there's no such thing as being right in his class. Never hands back quizzes/exams for you to study and the stuff he tells you to study, is always in trick question format on the quizzes/exams. I say all that to say this, if you value your gpa, don't take this class.

I took this class because I was going to enroll in the Ethnic Studies minor program, and the class sounded interesting to me. First off I'm a good student and before this class, I have never dropped a class, never gotten below a B, and rarely miss class. So my complaints about this professor would be that he never gave us a syllabus, and would assume that we know when things were due. He changes the subject of conversation so often that I would have a hard time following what he was saying. He also wrote things on the board and even if you were paying attention, you had no idea what was written. He would ask questions and when you answered them would tell you that you were stupid, even if you had the write answer. During one class he had us read a passage from the book and as one girl was reading she missed a word (not an uncommon thing) and he made her stop and complained that what she was reading wasn't what the article was saying. He is rude and arrogant, and I would not recommend this professor to anyone.

Lazy, not helpful, and a straight up pompous ass. Three phrases to describe him. He is a bad professor, who cancels classes at crucial times in the year. Grades with total bias, despite saying he doesn't. Never around, and when a question is asked, he makes you feel like an idiot. His e-mails are vague and does not get assignments graded back to you at a reasonable time, and does not change due dates if he is late getting work back to you. ALWAYS talks about growing up in the "hood" and makes every conversation about race. If at all possible, avoid this man. It is not worth it. If it was up to me, he would have been canned a long time ago.

Holy cow. Never in my life have I had a professor this bad. I have never been in a class where no matter what you as a student say, are always wrong. I am an A/B student and am doing terrible while putting in tons of effort. He only teaches his point of view, hates white people, and over teaches nothing in his class. He is never clear in lectures and creates tests and exams on nothing that is on the syllabus. You're better off just never showing up and taking time to do the mass quantities of readings on your own. My roommate was an English major, and said never in her 300 level courses did she have this much material. When you have this much material and no direction in class, I really do wonder how anyone can ever follow where he is going on his rambles or even completely understand the readings fully. Never have I met a professor that I feel is trying to make our education hard just because his was. My best advice is to run away, but if you get stuck with this class I would just say to talk to your advisor and use your option of a pass or fail for this class. Good luck to anyone that takes him.

Dr. Janifer is by far one of the most negative people I've ever met. He can be quite nasty when he edits your work. I usually see criticism as a chance to improve, but he is extremely harsh, and his comments seem more geared towards putting you down than improving your writing. It seems like he hates his job and hates his students, and he doesn't even try to hide it. The class usually sits silently, since he'll ridicule you, or even sometimes get angry, if you ask a question or answer one wrong. Good luck with this miserable person and his awful attitude.

Worst class ever. I don't know if it was Raymond or the subject matter, but this class blew. It was one of the most boring classes I've ever taken. It was also like a white bashing class almost. The tests were impossible. You practically had to memorize the readings, which was the ENTIRE text book, in order to get a decent grade on any of the tests. He must heavily curve though because I got F's or D's on practically everything that was graded for that class and somehow I ended up with a C.

I cannot stand this professor. I've honestly never met a professor like him. His lectures seem so disconnected from the readings...which by the way are like 500 pages per week of the most BORING, UNINTERESTING text in the entire universe..he always talks as if we should be able to read his mind, he doesn't elaborate on points, and he shifts from topic to topic with no transitions so you're sitting there listening trying to figure out what he's talking about and when you finally catch up you've just missed 10 minutes of his lecture. I have an A+ in every single one of my other classes, I've been an A student my entire life, and I love school and I can honestly say I've never failed anything but I have failed every single test and quiz this man has ever given. It is unbelievable. If you have a choice to take this professor or someone else, DON'T choose him or you will regret it! He is a good person, but a terrible professor.

Let me start by saying I have been on the Dean's list for two years, and this is the first B I've ever worked my butt off for. Janifer has POTENTIAL to be a nice guy, however, most of the time he talks down to the class. Answering his terribly worded questions is always a panic attack because no matter how close you are to the right answer, he never gives you credit. His tests are redundant and damn near impossible. I thought this class was about culturally diverse literature, not 99% African American literature, with 1% being about other nationalities that he then compares to African American lit. If you're a white male, your chances of getting any respect in his class are slim to none. By far the WORST professor I've ever had, the administrators that are supposed to be watching him are SERIOUSLY lacking in their job title.

Dr. Janifer barely showed up for class, which may be a good thing but he never emailed or told us so we would have to wait. HE has no way of grading your papers, it seems like he just reads them and randomly assigns you a grade. The papers I worked hard on got bad grades and the ones that were horrible got good grades. I hated him as a teacher. Plus class was completely irrelevant to anything we were doing for the class.

I have been on the deans list and have taken many challenging classes already as a freshman... 2 200 level classes... and stayed on the deans list. I would spend over 3 hours on my papers and make necessary corrections to my papers as he would indicate. However, on the final paper that I handed in he would make 10 more corrections that he missed in the previous paper... how contradicting... If you are going to correct papers do them right. I would be a better professor than Janifer.

Janifer may seem like a pretty chill guy as a person, but don't be fooled. I think there might be brain somewhere within his skull, however somehow he seems to be overall incompetent. He doesn't understand how classes work and lives in his own world with his own messed up rules. His tests suck. They're hard and HE makes typos and selects wrong answers - but if you make an error in an essay question, you'll hear about it. He also denies that he makes any sort of error. He walks out of class in mid class, he cuts you off, he talks down to you. Basically he's a lazy rude jerk pig that doesn't care. I don't know HOW he got hired here. He has a ton of baggage about his 'woe is me' life and tells the same stories over and over again. Just read the book. He's lectures are totally unrelated. I got stuck in this class and couldn't get out or I would've PRONTO. I've been to other schools and he is the worst prof. I've ever had. Hopefully someone fires him. Very dissatisfied. Learned nothing.

Avoid this person if it is possible. He can easily be described as only a bitter and angry person who takes it out on his students. He starts the semester off with an elaborate speech about how he wants you to write whatever you want to write about and how he is going to help you. Lies. All lies. He is never around and he will abuse your work. Going into the final I had a 'B' in his class. He was very hard on me... When I got my final grades back I managed to have a 'D'. Somewhere along the line he manipulated his grade book. AVOID HIM. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

I'm currently sitting in this man's class. We just had an exam last class and most of us did poorly. When we go here, he asked if we had questions on the test...but would only answer if we could tell him the exact wording of the question....from a week ago. Lucky me brought my laptop to class so I could look up all the questions. There was one about the reading where he said "This character did not believe in arranged marriages or marriages for convenience." true or false. I said true and got it wrong. In class I asked about this and quoted the text saying that the same character thought that marriage for convenience was low and a mortal sin and so on the quote went....it made it very obvious that the woman did not agree with arranged marriages.....and he told me that it was a gender issue. That I was being too romantic in my thinking. As I continued to read from the text and support my stand, he shut me down and threatened to take points off. I was so angry that I was going to shut my computer, leave the class and accept whatever grade I had to, to drop out of the class. This is a perfect example of how this man works. This is a COMMON happening in his class. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. It's not even that the class is simply hard....it's that he wants you to answer by how he thinks and you have no way of knowing how that is. He is RIDICULOUS.

The class was called “culturally diverse literature” but the only thing I really heard about (for 2 hours every day during summer classes) was how the black man was so oppressed. I learned nothing about a new culture (although the Irish and the Indian were briefly mentioned.) 90% of the readings were by black men and the other 10% he made ABOUT black oppression. And I have absolutely nothing wrong with African American people, but the man drove me up the walls! If something didn’t work on blackboard, that was your fault and you’d better fix it. E-mailing anything to the man was not an option – ever. Don’t even ask. He is a professor who firmly believes that he is the final authority on everything ever. He asks questions that are so vague and open ended that it takes about 5 minutes to figure out what he’s even trying to get at. By then he’s pissed off and ranting. Overall, I would not advise taking him for any class, ever. Although he did not cancel class while I had him, friends of mine had him and said in 2 week, they had class once.

He is the worst teacher ever. If you even have class because he canceled it so much without a notice you stayed a maximum of 40 mins... he canceled the majority of the last 2 weeks of class and expected you to give him a perfect paper when he handed it back just the class before. If you write all the papers you will pass, but however when you ask how to improve your paper he is never available to help you. If he doesn't like the beginning of your rough draft then he stops reading it and you have no clue what he want for the end... you have to guess like everything else he tells you. If you won't be in class for some reason the day a paper is due do not e-mail it to him, he will not accept it and count it as late. If you slide it under his door he will not accept it, even though he asked us to turn one in that way. I have never met a teacher that yelled at me when I asked to turn a paper in early. So you can't turn it in early or through e-mail, basically if you aren't there its late no matter what. Overall he is the biggest dick I have ever met, that is not an understatement. He says that you need to spend time on your papers, but the final he gives you the 2 hour slot to write it in and grades it as you had 2 days. On top of that he makes you grade your portfolio in that time and yells at you if you cut into his time. Like you don't have enough to do already in that time, he can take all the time in the world but you can't. If you want an ass hole as a teacher take him, but if you don't want to have a paper every week to do and not want him to make rude comments to you in front of everybody then do not take him.

Dr. Janifer seems like a nice guy at first, maybe a little hardass, but nothing you can't handle. But from my experience in the class and pretty much my entire class, he was a dick. Every single day before class we would bitch about how he doesn't respond to emails, sends mixed messages about when papers are due or what they are actually supposed to be about, and how short he is with you. If you want to try and meet up with him, good luck, his office hours are limited and he's not even there a lot of times and he's never available on fridays or weekends. My biggest problem with Janifer is that with our last paper, I re-did it twice, having him look over it...and I got a D? after he said it was good. He is absolutely no help, cancels class soo much (last week and a half noooo class) and if we do have class, we stay for at the most 30-45 minutes. The class is a joke and so is he. I have talked to other people that have previously had him..and its unanimous WORST TEACHER EVERRR!!!

This guy is WACK! The man missed class all the time with no notice and made me feel like an ass at least 33 times in front of everyone. 4 people out of 15 dropped the class by class #4. One day we all come into class and he hands us a sheet with a zillion terms (that he's never mentioned in his life) and we are all looking at it wondering what the hell it is and he's staring at us as though we are freakin' parasites to mankind and so I raise my hand, "Um, what is this for exactly?" Janifer,(mocking me) "Um, it's your test." Me, "Um, is there a due date and what do you want us to do with these words?" Janifer, (slams hand on desk) "I want everyone to leave, NOW! See you on Thursday!" I'm not lying to you, the man is so preoccupied with the fact that he's african american that he forgets to do his job. I'm surprised he didn't request for a red carpet on the ground for his overly jeweled body to prance on when entering the classroom. I think if you take him you might as well start eating some glass :) If you simply MUST take him then be sure to read and know everything there is to know about african americans and you'll be great. He's not even from africa...he's from f*cking CHESTER! []

Janifer does the crappiest job as a professor ever. His classes are entirely worthless as he spends all of the class time lecturing on historical aspects of the texts, which never are actually applied to the things we have read. The questions on his "tests" and "quizzes" are ridiculous and never have anything to do with what's been discussed in class. When you think you have written a good response to an essay question, you will most likely get a poor grade because nothing is ever good enough for Janifer. You never know exactly what information he is looking for on quizzes, tests, essays, or papers. He NEVER sticks to the syllabus and throws out random assignments whenever he wants. DON'T TAKE HIM. Did I mention he likes to make fun of you in class and demote your intelligence? Yeah, cuz he does. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Dr. Janifer is definitely a very intelligent man. However, he is a terrible professor. The syllabus at the beginning of the semester he may as well have never even handed out, tests and exams are on the texts - but we never discussed any of them in class, and lectures were on the Civil Rights movement, black struggles, etc. I wouldn't have minded the discussions if they were relative to the readings or if it was an African American literature course. But it wasn't it was American Writers II. We should have been discussing Wharton, O'Neill... but instead we were discussing Equiano (American Writers I not II), slave narratives, etc. I seriously couldn't stand going to class because it was more of a lecture on how blacks were oppressed and how they are still. His questions are so vague that I don't think he even knows what kind of an answer he wants. If I were you, I'd stay far - very far away from this professor.

Dr. Janifer doesn't seem to care if you understand anything about his class. I have never had a professor that was so unprofessional. He never came to class, and if he decided to cancel he never sent an email or let you know he wansn't going to be there. We never took a quiz or exam on time, or ever came close to following the syllabus. Keeping track of your grades was impossible because he never told you what you got on any assignments (tests and quizes included). In class, you would start a movie and never finish it. You were lucky to finish or start talking about a book that you were responsible for, partly because we never had class (however, you were still responsible for the material). You have about 10 quizes/exams. He often asks the same questions word for word from exam to exam. On our final he asked 140 questions and about 50 of those questions were in that same exam 2,3, and 4 times. Steer clear of this one!

I don't even know where to begin with this professor. Firstly, do not bank on anything that is on the syllabus really happening- it won't. His "tests" and "quizzes" turn out to be full blown papers given every other week during the semester. He tells you that you can base them on whatever you want but that's not true, he wants to read papers on what he deems important in the texts. Do not expect to be involved in literary discussions within the class, that also will not happen. You can, however, expect to learn about the Black Civil Rights Movement even if it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the literature you're reading. To pass this class with an A, make sure you participate often (although he calls on people at random and simply asks, "What do you think about all of this?" so sometimes you don't have a choice but to participate), turn in your papers on time, and make sure you do precisely what he wants with the paper even if it defies regular MLA conventions (and it will) and even if you completely disagree with what you are writing. I would really like my money back for this class because it's a simple contractual obligation for the professor to teach and this professor certainly did not. I held up my end of the bargain and paid for this class but it was only a huge waste of time and money.

I agree with the other comments that it doesn't seem like he reads any of the books that we're supposed to. He hardly talks about them at all. How he is able to keep his job is beyond me.

We cut multiple books short, and miraculously when test time rolled around these books were the ones that he repeated the same questions over and over all from the beginning really making me wonder whether or not he actually read those books. However, God forbid we didn't read Malcolm X. That book made up the most questions on the mid term. Truth be told the main focus of the course is on African Americans, and thus those books get top priority. Also be prepared to learn via video

Dr. Janifer never comes to class. He missed at least 6 classes, and he showed up 20 minutes late for the final. Furthermore, when we do have class, he usually brings videos about the author that we are "studying." I really feel like I've wasted tuition dollars, and I don't have a consumerist outlook towards education under normal circumstances. However, under normal circumstances, one gets out of a class what one puts in. This doesn't work that way. Dr. Janifer (when he actually shows up to teach) assumes that all of his students are idiotic fools, and he treats us all like that too. Outside of class, he's a pretty cool guy, but if you want to actually learn something, don't take him.

I love American Literature, especially the stuff we should have been reading in American Writers II, but Janifer had other ideas. This class was basically Intro to Ethnic Studies! That is when he decided to show up. If you talked about how oppressed blacks and minorities were he liked you. The syllabus has four tests and quizes, well since he was never there we had two tests and two quizes, mostly take home, which you would think would be good, but no, he tears them apart. Maybe if he came to class and taught instead of showing stupid movies and talking about how awfully minorites are treated, people would actually do well in his class! Worst professor on campus by far.

Nothing like going to class and waiting around for 20 minutes only for him to not show up and no one in the department hearing from him all week. His tests suck. He'll give you the first test and your second one is almost the exact same thing, but he never gives you your old tests back so it's impossible to study. Also, you think you'll have papers to hand in and quizzes to take...no no...he never does that. So you had better do good on the exams, mid-term and final, otherwise you end up with only 4 grades in the end and do shitty. Also, he's NEVER in his office, doesn't return phone calls and I'd swear the man doesn't believe in e-mail b/c he never responds to that either. If I were you, I would NOT take him.

Dr. Janifer starts out as an ok guy, but he then gets lazy, tells the class we are going to have tests and then we don't, he repeats test questions over and over again but does not let you see the test. He thinks he is God's gift to women, and is very rude when it comes to women and his standards of dating. He told our class that he would only date a woman who has at least her Master's degree and can support herself so that he can buy his cars and his jewelry. He is a PIG!

He was a horrible teacher, very redundant, gave the same test over and over again but never let you see them afterward so you missed the same questions over and over again. He didn't do the reading himself, so he frequently made mistakes regrading it, he has a very strict attendance policy though, and that's what killed me, I couldn't bear his class, he was so lazy he would hand out all the notes for the whole semester so he wouldn't have to present them in class. I hate him

Janifer is a pretty good teacher if you excuse a few things. Sometimes when typing up papers he'll leave the classroom and not come back for 10 or 20 minutes. Sometimes he also talks about other things than College Writing, but he doesn't go off topic very much. I didn't learn very much in this class, the most I learned was how to document sources properly and cut down on my writing. But even still, he'll let classes leave early sometimes and he can be funny in class. When bringing rough drafts to class, type them, don't bring paper you wrote on because he doesn't like that. If he asks something in class, even if you think the answer is obvious, but you know it then answer it, he wants people to raise their hands and participate. Also listen to his comments on your papers, the comments might seem picky, but they actually make a difference.

Lectures in class are quite unorganized, but if you take good notes as well as read the novels, it shouldn't be too hard to pull a B in this class. Janifer is a great guy, but rather unpredictable. Sometimes examinations are in class, sometimes they are online. You never know ahead of time. His notes on the blackboard are very unorganized. If you take him, I wouldn't rely on him too much.
