Professor Rosenberg is an awesome guy. Although class can be boring at times, he always makes little jokes or does little things to keep us entertained. For instance, last week we were learning about teenagers and professor sagged his pants and pretended to TWERK. The class requires two texts. 1.) is an online thing which you need. It has the textbook as well as assignments which you have to complete every Sunday. It quizzes you on the chapter you were supposed to read. It is NOT a graded quiz so as long as you complete it you get a 10/10. There are 3 exams. There are in class quizzes, 1 exam, and the final. I highly recommend this class to everyone.

First off--I *hate* sociology. Absolutely can't stand it. I totally dreaded taking this class, and was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Rosenberg is a really nice guy who keeps class pretty fun, and really knows his stuff. There are two exams, which are a breeze if you review some of the material, a final (part is cumulative, but not horribly so), and one easy, easy paper. (I did mine the morning it was due and got a B+.) I came out liking sociology a lot more than before this class. Bottom line--not too much work, really nice guy, fairly interesting class. Highly recommended for a gen-ed.

This was a pretty good class. The subject matter was actually INTERESTING (as opposed to biology... honestly, why should I care what an enzyme's function is??), and Dr. Rosenberg is a really nice guy. He was very friendly and helpful. I admit after the sem was done I wasn't sure if I'd pass or not, but he was cool enough to give me a C. If I had to take it over I know I'd get an A. I recommend him.

Dr. Rosenberg is very personable and encourages participation. One only needs to ask questions to earn participation points. His most important notes are given on slides, but he does not just simply lecture. He encourages discussion and provokes deep thought on social issues. He is very interactive with his examples. His tests are multiple choice, true/false, and short answer. The material for the tests is almost exclusively from the notes and the Henslin "Down to Earth Sociology" articles. He is very straightforward and helpful whenever help is needed.

I just wanted to say Dr. Rosenberg is a great professor. He is very easy to get along with, he never loses his temper, and you can tell he genuinely wants everyone to pass his class. For example we had a research paper due, some people were having problems with it, and there were people with many other papers and exams that week so he postponed the due date to help us out. His class can be boring at times but it's not as bad as this conservation of natural resources class I had! If you want a professor who will try to help you out the best he can and you can tell really cares, then pick Rosenberg.

This is what college classes should be, not a whole lot of time out of your personal life for studying, and a whole lot of learning interesting ideas in class. Rosenberg is a nice man and very personable, he'll know your name within two weeks whether you talk all the time or not at all. He gives random quizzes to see if you're keeping up, but like the tests, they're easy. Learn from him, talk to him outside of class, browse the study guide before tests, and you got yourself an A.

Dr. Rosenberg was wonderful to have for Sociology. I used to be a soc minor, and Rosenberg told me i had a knack for it. I wanted him for my minor advisor, but the minor doesn't have advisors and he is a part time professor. This prof is very knowledgeable in this subject, and can be funny at times as well as thought-provoking. You have to read a good bit, but it is informative and interesting stuff. His exams are pretty easy, and he isn't a tough grader. I would recommend him for anyone who wants to learn and isn't afraid to think out of the box. I plan on visiting him, as long as he continues to teach here.

Dr. Rosenberg is a great professor. He knows his shit and through him, you can learn a lot too, especially if you have an interest in Sociology. If not, it's still a pretty interesting class. It's a class that actually makes me want to wake up at 9:00 to go to, and it's my only class I'm not constantly looking at the clock to see when it's over. Whoever said Rosenberg is a know-it-all or that his tests are too hard is just a moron. First off, he DOES know a lot, and is really laid-back, and is good with names, and his tests consist of 25 multiple choice questions, four 5 point short answers, and a 30 point essay. If you skim the readings, you'll ace the test. TAKE HIM!!

This guy is always around and gets back with anything you might need. There's a paper and a research project but as long as you keep on top of the deadlines it's a cake walk. This guy is good and i'm planning on taking him for my next soc requirement. His only drawback is that it's hard to take notes in his class.

He looks like a dad. He tries to make everyone do well. He tries to make class interesting. Sometimes he suceeds, sometimes he doesn't. You do have to do a lot of reading, but he pretty much feeds you the chapters in class so you really just have to work with the articles. His classes aren't that difficult. He's a good teacher, he's a cute little man. Take him.

Subject: He is WAY to serious about sociology  (Dec 11 2002, 03:18AM)

He needs a serious wake-up call. His tests are freaking hard as hell. He thinks he is teaching at Penn, his friend teaches there, and he thinks he is just as smart, so he makes his tests and class hard as hell to make up for it. The only problem, he doesn't teach there, and I wish someone would tell him that, but I am a coward, thus it won't be me. Also, he has madatory attendance, you miss 2 classes, you better drop the course! Advice: Take someone else!!!
