If you're looking for an easy prof for World Geography, take Jen Pom! Although difficult to understand, she is easy! Her 5 (20 point) map quizzes are sooo easy and you can drop your lowest grade. She also has 3 tests which are pretty easy if you look over your notes. The final is the third test and it is not comprehensive. Notes come straight from her powerpoint slides which are what the tests are on. The project you must do is a powerpoint presentation on a world heritage that you're assigned and it's very easy and boosts your grade a ton! I barely studied and ended up with a B in the class and i got a D+ on the first test! I would definately take Pom again if i needed anything she taught!

Pomeroy does powerpoint presentations which are really great. Her tests are somewhat difficult, but if you study you will most likely get a B. She has lots of extra credit possibilities. The only thing, you are only allowed 1 excused absense and after that, you get 10 points deducted from your grade. She has an accent, but it's not too hard to get over and understand...and if you dont, she will repeat herself or write it out on the board

If you pay attention to what she said, it's not bad at all. She really cares about how students do. Tests are a bit difficult.

This professor is so easy! She gives map quizzes that take ten minutes to study for and really bring up your grade. Plus, she gives you extra credit and the project she gives is really easy. If you want a good grade, take Pom!!!

The worst professor ever. I thought I was going to learn GIS at an introductory level in this class, but I was wrong. She is very unhelpful in answering your questions, she will respond with questions to your questions, rather than providing an actual useful answer. Strongly recommend Feeney or anyone else other than J POM

If you get on her good side and stay on your toes with the assignments, Pomeroy is an ok professor, but is frustrating for the average college student trying to get good grades. She is very sharp and mean in class, accuses you of being a stupid class, and will mark things wrong on the papers you submit. I got a 15/16 because my title wasn't in the right place according to her standards. She is very unfair, especially for a gen ed class and I resent the fact I was required to take the class. I would schedule someone else if you want time to dedicate to your major's courses. She is impossible!!!

Dr. Pomeroy was hands down the worst professor I have ever had in my entire life. Everyone in my class agrees. She does not teach all she does is read off of things and is extremely boring. She is no help whatsoever and keeps insisting her class is easy but she makes it unbelievable. Please do not take this professor. I did well in the class but there is no need to suffer with this horrible teacher. How she got her teaching degree is beyond me. Her husband is awesome maybe he should teach her a few things instead of saying "uh" and "um" all the time. She is hard to understand as well and lovessss talking about China. Go Figure. Stay away from her at all costs.

She's very impolite. She often tells the class that they are "stupid" because we do not tune into the same news channels or read the same newspapers she does. She accuses us of being stupid because of laptops, cellphones, and not knowing things that are not common knowledge to the average college freshman, such as the figure head of the United Nations. She also contradicts herself in her writings, and then will blame the class for our "mistake". An example is she told us to double space our reports in a hand out guide she gave us, then yelled at us for double spacing when she was grading them? Also, she gets upset if she has to spend more than 30 seconds on a slide due to the fact that no one can write that fast. She's very frustrating and can be mean, so avoid her if at all possible in your schedule. If you have to take her, prepare yourself for ridicule and low grades due to her explanations of what she's expecting from you. =/

I got on here and read all the stuff about the easy map quizzes but didn't see that they were from 2003! She gives the hardest quizzes possible for a 101 class and you have to write 5 papers throughout the class, one almost every week! Her test materials come from the quizzes though so even if you fail terribly on the quizzes you should do ok but I highly recommend taking someone else if you can!

While professor pomeroy is a nice lady, im not sure teaching is the profession for her. Her class is fine until you get to the tests. She gives you a study guide, and then the test has nothing to do with it. If the answer she wrote on the key is wrong, and you point it out she says "oh, well too bad" and marks you off for having the correct answer! We spent half the semster covering asia, and looking at pictures of her trips there. If you want to learn nothing AND get a bad grade, this is the class for you.

If you are thinking about taking her for any class, you should really really reconsider. Not only is she absolutely horrible to understand, but she changes her tests because she is not the best at English!! My entire class got the same answer wrong on a test and she said that the answer was supposed to be what we all had, but since she made a grammatical error she changed the answer to match her messed-up question!!! Can you say trick question!?!? The map quizzes are so simple, but you only get 5 of them, so they do little to boost your grade. I studied like crazy for all 3 of her tests and still did horrible on them. You really have to read into her questions a lot because she does make a lot of grammatical errors, which make a lot of the questions hard to understand. And good luck finding her in her office (even during her office hours!!) Do not get me wrong, she is a wonderfully nice person, but as a prof. she is absolutely horrible. I only suggest taking her if there are absolutely no other professors open for the course and you absolutely have to take the course that semester!!!

Not only is Professor Pomeroy hard to understand, but her class sucks! She is not good at teaching the material she covers & the study guide she gives you for the tests doesn't even help you on the test. This class should've been easy, but she made it almost impossible. And the funny thing is, her husband is also a prof. & I hear his class is cake...So if anything take him, Do not take her!!!!

She is a sweet lady, but she can be really hard to understand. She gives notes on a powerpoint, but they don't always make sense-when you go to study them later you're not sure what it all means. She gives copies of past exams for studying purposes but when you ask her a question about it she sometimes gives you the wrong answer (by mistake of course) and then doesn't give you credit when you tell her she was the one who told you the wrong thing. Her questions sometimes don't make sense, and you have to come to class every day even though she posts notes on blackboard because she gives extra notes. She also gives notes while you're trying to write down other notes.

DO NOT TAKE THIS LADY!!!!!!! She is absolutely the worst prof I have had here. She does not teach at all, and the notes that you take she doesn't even explain to you. You do all the tutorials yourself, so you are basically teaching yourself in this class. Oh, and you cannot understand a single word she says. The only thing that saved me in this class is that she curved the final. Stay away!

Pomeroy really tries hard but her English is fairly broken. It's hard to understand her at times - and it takes her a couple of times to explain certain things. Tests are not difficult but you need to study for them. Project is a waste of time but easy way to get points. Not a demanding class at all.

She's not the nicest lady I've ever met and she's difficult to understand. Tests are difficult but can be balanced with 5 map quizzes. An easy project and a non cumlitive final make up the course. Not bad, but also, not great!

I do have to say her class was very boring. Take her if u want an easy class, but be prepared to find your self sitting there and wanting to just jump out the window. The project is easy but she wants a good oral presntation. Midterm wasnt bad, final was a little tricky. Easy overall. Also have fun finding her in her office!
