Easy to pass in his class, you just have to study the cases and he lets you miss two and for a night class that wasn't bad! I would take him.

Subject: Humorous man, difficult class  (Jan 18 2007, 04:38PM)

Going into Comm Law, I had heard many stories about how difficult the class was and how bad Bitzer's exams were. For the most part, this was correct. No matter how much you study, the exams are NOT easy. Luckily, he does have a nice curve that bumps everyone up by at least 10 points. Dr. Bitzer also has a unique sense of humor, which helps make otherwise dry lectures seem bearable. Overall, the class might not be the easiest, but the professor is great, and despite what people may say, it IS possible to get an A.

Subject: He doesn't care  (Dec 14 2005, 03:22PM)

Bitzer is hilarious. He doesn't really care if you show up, he doesnt really care if you pay attention, he doesn't really care if you participate. He doesn't even care if you play games on your cell phone in class. The tests aren't easy, simply because it's hard to pay attention and everything on the tests is straight from his lectures. I wish he taught another class though so I could show up to listen to him make fun of people, and get another B without doing anything.

This prof is extremely funny!! the class is enjoyable and i even had it as a night class. His tests are a little unexpected in how hard they are.... however his tests are all curved so there is no problem with grades. All in all I really enjoyed the class

Bitzer is a good prof. He can get long-winded at times and laughs at his own bad jokes, but the class is interesting and your only other alternative for the class is Waltermyer (YUCK!!). The tests are multiple choice, very easy. Do the reading and you'll be fine.

Dr. Bitzer is the best prof in the comm department...he makes class fun with candid discussions on topics everyone loves to talk about sex, drugs and rock-n-roll!! I would take the class again just to hear him talk and all the stories he loves to tell!!

Prof. Bitzer was seriously one of my favorite professors from Shippensburg. I graduated last year and came on this site, browsing around and saw that NO ONE had written a review of Bitzer. I find that preposterous. How anyone could come out of his class without awe or inspiration is beyond me. Bitzer is a great teacher.

If you have to take com law and you have the choice to avoid Bitzer DO IT! His test are totaly out of left field, the only saving grace is that he curves them. However, wouldn't you think a prof would realize that he isn't teaching something right if he has to curve EVERY test? The class is so boring, all you do is sit there AT NIGHT and listen to him talk about case studys, for 16 weeks! It's horrible, needs to be restructured.

The class overall was easy. I had it as a night class and we always got out early. You do not do real work for the class because you don't have to do any assignments, except a Case Brief which you can get off the internet. You think the tests are easy except when you find out later that you failed them. Bitzer curves the tests but doesn't give them back so you can't see what you got wrong. He offers no feedback whatsoever and if you actually want to learn something about this subject don't take this prof.

I'm indifferent about the guy. On the one hand, the class was really easy, and required no thought whatsoever. On the other, he's boring, gives a ridiculous project (establish a radio station), and has white stuff building in the corners of his mouth. [] I feel I deserved more than a B, considering I'm one of the few who actually showed up. Basically, take if you're looking for an easy A. Don't take if you want to actually learn something.

He is a much better teacher for com law. He doens't put much time into Media management. His tests are freaking hard too!
