Dr.Bluman is awesome! Hes a cool nice guy...very very understanding. He'll accept late work and such all the time. You give one 2 minute speech, one interview (outside of class with your group), one group presentation, and one 10 minute speech. Quizzes and exams are kind of just average...if you do the reading you'll be fine with an A...if you just skim you could pull off a B or so. I mean, the stuff I learned he could have taught me in a 30 minute presentation rather than a whole class...but at least it was an easy A.

He wrote the textbook himself for the course making it really easy to understand. He also posts his voice recordings of lessons online. Short tests are every class on the chapters and the voice recordings. My classmates were able to get As on the tests without even looking at the materials because they were easy. I would recommend however to actually read and listen to the stuff. The final was the most difficult part. The speeches were not too bad. He lets you talk about basically your interests whatever they may be.

Alright, clearly everyone dreads having to take a speech class. Dr. Bluman is a great prof though. Only around 3ish speeches (one group then two individual, one that you do twice). The class was easy, because he lays out the entire course for you in a binder that you buy. He wrote the book. The only negative is that the book/binder is super expensive and you cannot return it. I would recommend him to anyone that is not keen on public speaking.

Initally, everybody fears taking a public speaking course. Dr. Blumans class is nothing of the sort. He teaches why people fear it, and lets you interact in groups. His self-paced tutorials may be a bit boring, but he's a great guy. He's a very intellectual guy, and really knows his information. He wrote the book for the course! I would take Bluman if you have the opportunity. He is a pretty fair grader, I'd take him again in a heartbeat.

This guy CREATED and wrote his OWN BOOK for his human communications class. He created an entire binder of NOTES for you to take and A DVD COLLECTION of his lectures that you simply listen to and take notes in this binder. It is an A handed to you.. PROVIDED you do the work... and he is a fun guy that makes the class interesting. Lots of group work, but he seemed fair with the grading. Speeches were not bad at all if you simply follow his exact advice and directions. Less speeches than other classes had to give :)

Although no ones wants to take intro to Human Communications we all have to. Dr. Bluman is a very experienced guy who tries his best to make it bearable and worthwhile for his students. Although he gets a little too into it the class was pretty laid back for a speech class. He was probably the best prof I've had so far at Shippensburg. Take him, you won't regret it.

Dr. Bluman is sooo easy. It's like taking a middle school speech class...you have like 3 speeches the whole time, and as long as you try and show you have prepared, he will give you a decent grade. You have to take these little quizzes after every reading assignment, but as long as you read you will get ten out of tens and therefore, you will get an A for the year! It's a super easy class so take it!

Dr. Bluman is a good professor. He made speaking in front of others a little more comfortable. He is considerate of the students with the price of his made up binder you buy and he will buy books back at the end of the semester since the book store does not. We had just two speeches on our own and one group presentation. It wasn't a bad course and Dr. Bluman was a good sport with such a non-responsive class. There are quizes almost every week, so you have to read the book and do the self paced tutorials. Overall, this was a good class and not hard at all. I recommend taking Dr. Bluman when it's time to schedule this course.

I was concerned when entering this class since like many others, I hate to give public speeches, but Dr. Bluman made the class interesting. Yes, at times it was boring but I don't regret taking his class. He actually wants to help and actually gives a damn about your well being. He is simply an all around good guy.

This was such an easy class. Dr. Bluman is boring to listen to but there is not a whole lot of work. You have to do tutorials outside of class before each class but they take no time at all. A 10 point quiz on the reading is given everyday but they are EASY. 2 speeches and you choose your own topic and a couple of group prjects that take no time at all. I recommend Dr. Bluman for anyone taking BOC

This class was by far the easiest class offered on the planet anywhere. This guy would let people do their presentations later if they didn't show up prepared (Dumb freshmen, this isn't normal). Gave out quizzes that were crazy easy, had to do like 3 presentations that are like 2 minutes long. God you can talk about dirt for that long. THIS GUY IS A CAKE WALK

Dr. Bluman is great. His class is freakin easy. The part that sucks is the group work. If you aren't a slacker you will end up doing all the work in your group. However, other than that, there are no tests, only speeches and quizzes. You have to read the book (that he wrote by the way) and do your work outside of class and you will pass for sure. The final is hard but if you did well during the semester you should be good. I recommend him to anyone-he is so easy and such a great, nice, and caring prof.

He is a very personable prof who is extremely understanding if you don't have something ready in time. Take him if you want a prof who you can get along with.  Dr. Dale Bluman is a very unique individual. I definitely encourage students to take him. The way his teaches his class brings life to the course. His course is both challenging at times and easy the others. His course is not the typical BOC course. He has his own book for the course which deals with life, rhetoric, and speach. The beginning of the book is not hard to understand. He also gives a tutorial, and various presentation assignments. His final is kinda hard. So study for it. he gives quizes weekly so read the chapters and tutorial for it. Overall he is an excellent teacher. You definitely get a good grade if you are determined and motivated.

I had so much fun in his class. It was a night class, which always sucks, but I would do it again in a heart-beat. Everything was group work except two speeches, one three minutes long, the other 10 minutes long, which he gave us a practice run on in front of 1/2 the class. Couldn't have been easier or better. TAKE IT!!

Easy, easy, easy. But then again, the class itself is easy. Just read the book when you're supposed to and you'll get decent grades on your quizzes. He gives a lot of bonus points if you attend all of the classes so if you mess up a quiz or two, it's all good. There's only one or two difficult concepts that are difficult to learn in the class. He goes over them thoroughly so you'll know what to do eventually.

Dr. Bluman is a really nice and his class is pretty easy. You'd think it was an intense speech-driven class, but it's really not. You only do 2 real speeches in the class and he grades them pretty easily. You have to buy a notebook that you'll print out his textbook from (yes, he wrote the book...). It's not too difficult to read, just a little boring. There's also some "Self Paced Tutorials" on a CD that you have to do. Their really easy, just take notes on them and you'll be set. He gives 6 quizzes on the reading and SPTs, which are easy for the most part if you read and stuff. Most of the work is done in teams. If you get a good group, the work can be pretty fun and again, he grades pretty easily. He's easily impressed with presentations that are slightly different from others, too. The only bad thing is that the ideas and concepts you learn are mainly taught in the book and the SPTs, not really by Dr. Bluman. It's still really easy, though. Dr. Bluman is a really great guy and loves talking about his personal life, which is a nice touch. It's easy to suck up, too! Take him if you can!!

Dr. Bluman is one of the nicest professors I have ever had. He wants his students to do well in his class but he does not make it so easy that you don't learn anything from the class. His assignments are actually somewhat enjoyable, he allows you so much time to do all of them. Another cool thing is he cancels class all the time and there is no attendance policy. Take him if you can!

Dr. Bluman was very nice and easy. We a short personality test on the first day of class so we could be grouped in ways that would work best. That was terrific because my group got along so it was easy to complete projects.Does require out of class work, but it is simple. The class is perfectly laid out. I would recommend him to everyone!

Dr. Bluman is a super nice guy. I thought that I would hate speech class but it was so easy and I did actually learn things from attending class not from the readings or the CD. He didn't grade hard and he put you in groups to do some of the speeches. The CD thing is dumb and honestly I never did any of mine or read the book and the lowest score I got on one of the quizes was a 7, they are all common sense. Take Dr. Bluman if you can.

Dr. Bluman is a good guy. You have to do speeches like in all BOC classes but he definitely does not grade hard on them at all. He also makes you do this stupid cd-rom thing, and he does a quiz on it each week. Most of it is common sense, I would recommend paying attention in class, not doing the cd rom, but become friends with someone who does do it so you can copy theirs before the end of the semester. I would definitely recommened taking him. It's not a hard class to get an A in.

Dale Bluman is probably one of the most ridiculous professors I have ever encountered. Was the class easy, yes, but it is a communications class, it should be easy. What I hated about his class was his self-written text that contained ten chapters that were so redundant that they could have been summed up in two. Not only did you have to read his text (because there is a quiz every week), but you also had to listen to his obnoxious voice outside of class while doing the self paced tutorials, which were also redundant as hell. If you are a freshman I am sure this class won't seem as unbearable, but if you are not a freshman don't bother taking this class, there is nothing new to learn. Boring, waste of time, and you barely get to practice speaking in front of a group which is what the whole class is supposed to be about.
