This class really isn't that bad. Sure it is a lot of work, but if you do it, it will pay off in the end. There are only three tests, one is dropped, and the other you can replace with lecture notes. Technically you only have to do well on one test. There is a group paper that is a pain because you have to meet in groups all the time, but it isnt that bad and is an easy good grade. I would take her again if i had to.

Dr. P is a very effective teacher! The class isn't easy, but what psych class is? She curves the test grades and drop your lowest one. She is funny and makes the class interesting. She is a good professor and knows what the hell she is doing!

Dr. Nichols-Whitehead is a great teacher. This course is not easy. There is a lot of work. We had to do ten worksheets at about 4 or 5 pages each. It took three hours a piece to do them. There is a paper to do in which everyone gets a chance to peer review, and we had to do two field observations. I would have to say this is more of a hands on approach to learning. The exams are fairly difficult, as we are encouraged to apply concepts learned in class. In the end I felt I walked away more knowledgable in the field of child development because of this teacher. She is excellent at group discussion too!

I really don't know how to rate this prof. She's a really nice and funny lady, but her classes kill you! I'm only a freshman, but for all my other classes I put 1-2 hours of work in a week, I did about 6 in her class. I found out that the book she uses is meant for 200-300 level classes. Ouch... this one's gonna kill my GPA! But, if you like worksheets, group work, and a really weird grading system (that D is just a guess from my own calculations... God only knows what I got!) she's the prof to take. Not too big on lecturing, but you learn a lot on your own if you don't get through going over the worksheet in class. I understand college is different than high school, but this class was insane... I'm not a Psych major, but this class felt like I may have been! Seriously, I don't know how to rate her. She's a wonderful and helpful prof, but she kind of needs to be because of the difficulty!
