She makes class interesting, and really cares about her students learning. She guides you through lab reports and everything. The only thing is that no matter what Principals 1 class you take, it's going to be difficult. Make sure you are up for studying no matter who you take it with. Especially for lab practicals.

She's a great prof, she helps you out a lot. She understands her tests are difficult and will give extra assignments to help boost your grade. They're not difficult, just as long as you try, and if you don't get it go talk to her and she will gladly help. She posts her powerpoints online which helps when it comes to studying for exams and a good review for the final. She also gives extra credit opportunities. O and always do the self quizzes after each chapter sometimes she puts those on the tests. Other than that you should do fine, there shouldn't be a reason why you should fail. Just as long as you try, she will help you pass.

Her class is pretty tough but it is just a lot of work. any principles class is gonna be the same way but I felt like I got a lot out of the class. Any time I went to see her she was willing to help me with anything I needed. It was a lot of work but I learned a lot.

Dr. Light is a very good teacher. Her class is hard and I struggled in the beginning but then I started doing the objectives and that really helped during the tests. Always go to class because she covers a lot of information every day, lots of lecturing. I especially love that she calls animals critters and she uses other great terms that entertained me.

Dr. Light is such a nice woman. The material she covers is very tough and rigorous, but as long as you do your work and do what she expects of you, then you will do fine. Dr. Light's funny outlook on things is always entertaining and interesting to hear. If you are somewhat adept at biology but want to get a firm foothold on the basis of biology, I highly recommend Dr. Light!

This prof is soo nice. I loved her. There is a lab every week, but there were only about 2 formal lab reports due. All of the other labs were just worksheets. The labs weren't hard at all and she gives you a detailed study guide for the tests. She is very understanding and very passionate about what she teaches. Take her if you can.

I had her my very first semester and I enjoyed her class. Bio is a hard major so of course a decent amount of work will be expected of you. She is such a nice person and is always available when you need help. Through email, phone or office hours she will help you out. I will admit that I struggled a bit but I learned a lot from her class. I suggest taking her if you want a good base to begin your journey as a bio student.

Dr. Light's class is prob the easiest princ 1 class you can take, all you have to do is read the book and you'll do good. If you read and and participate in class you'll get 5 bonus points after each test! Some tests are hard especially the protist one, but that was because I didnt read all the chapters, so that was my fault. And even though the protist test was hard, she curved it so it wasn't that bad. If you have to take princ 1 take her!

Alright, so she's a little tough. But I think she understands where the students are coming from, and can admit when her tests are ridiculously hard and will curve them if necessary. She's very easy to talk to, and a really nice person, and if u put effort into this class, you'll be fine :)

Prof. Light is an awesome teacher. She's quirky and funny as sh*t, I have a great time in her 50 min. lecture. The Powerponits she gives are straight from the book and are posted online. The tests are hard but if you study then you will not have a problem. Every question is off the objectives she lists or from the quizzes at the end of the chapter. Lab is fun and she's always in a good mood. She's always available to help out and her extra credit opps are numerous.

This class was easy and interesting. If you like power point lectures, take this prof. She is always around and willing to help. If you are lazy, avoid this prof like the plague.

Dr. Light delivers her lectures using PowerPoint. Since these lectures follow the book, reading your assigned chapters is a must! Her tests are multiple choice and take questions from the book’s chapter review section. The only time I didn't do well on a test was because I didn't do my reading. She is always available via email or office hours. Dr. Light also offered many chances for extra credit and curved a few tests. Bottom line is if you do your work and pay attention in class you will do extremely well in this class and learn a hell of a lot.

This is a good professor if you're willing to put forth an effort. Dr.Light is a really nice person, is ALWAYS available to help, and she does offer extra credit. Yes, the class average for tests was usually a D or F, but she gave us the oppurtunity several times to do extra credit, which tremendously helped out. And there were a fair number of students who did get As and Bs on their tests. So the students who didn't do well either didn't study, didn't take advantage of the extra credit, or didn't go to class, because it is possible to get a B. So if you're into biology and want a challenging course (where you can still pull off a B) I suggest you do take Dr. Light.

The class is extremely boring. The labs are pointless. The tests aren't hard if you study and the assignments aren't hard either, there are just a lot of them. But if you enjoy waiting a week or more to receive grades on assignments and exams then Dr. Light is definitely the teacher for you.

Dr. Light is really nice, but not a very good teacher. Her class is incredibly boring and her tests are not exactly a piece of cake. She lectures EVERYDAY, never lets you out of class early, and never cancels class. You have a paper to write every week, and even though they aren't very hard, they are time consuming because you have to look up all of these websites and answer all these questions she gives you. There are 3 tests including the final which you definitely need to study for. Too much work for a gen. ed...i recommend taking someone else.

She is a cool person but her class is really hard. It seems like she knows nothing. The tests: forget it. They are so hard that you need to study four weeks in advance for the next test. From day 1 study for the first test. I dropped the class because it was way too hard. GET ANOTHER PROFESSOR.

The comment before this (Oct. 11) completely sums everything up. She swore should would never curve but when the class avg on the second test was an F (the first test a D), she had to curve it because having a class avg of 49% is absolutely terrible. She's a nice lady but I feel like I have learned nothing. Thankfully she gave some ex credit because the tests were so bad. PICK A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR!

If you have a chance to pick another professor please do so. She is the absolute worst teacher I've ever had. The tests are next to impossible and she teaches nothing during class. She does powerpoint for all 50 min, and you're constantly writing and she always flips the slides too fast so you can't even get all the information. We cover 9 chapters in 2 weeks and she expects you to understand everything in each chapter. Please DO NOT TAKE HER!

Dr light is a great teacher and probably one of the smartest especially with crayfish. His class is mostly all lecture and there is a lab that goes with it. I found her tests to be extremely hard. If you have to take this class for your major make sure you're 21 or know someone who is.

I strongly suggest this prof. if you have lots of time on your hands, you enjoy hard work and a challenge. If you're looking for an easy ride, Dr. Light is NOT for you. She's a very nice person, but I didn't care for her as an educator. Required a lot of time, energy, and work for small things that weren't a lot of point value. The class average was normally a D.
