Bardi ROCKS!! His class is SO easy and it's actually interesting. The only homework is a reflection every week, you basically write whatever you want. And best of all he doesn't believe in tests... need i say more?

Should you decide to take intro to ethics with bardi, make a point of not buying the book. It is covered in class, but it's not necessary to have. The discussions in class, and the reflections that you write are the more crucial elements. Bardi is an interesting guy, and his non-traditional approach to teaching allow for a wonderful classroom experience. A lot of people will be turned off by the fact that he's a total hippie ([]), but those people probably would dislike the class no matter who teaches it. I strongly recommend anything that bardi teaches.

Professor Bardi is a nice man, but is a little on the wierd side. He encourages participation in class discussions and grades most-heavily on that. His class was mostly discussion, but there was no structure to it. I spaced out a lot during these discussions b/c they got pretty "out there" at certain points. We did not use a text book, but instead read a novel called "A Modern Guide to Happiness" or something... It was based on Aristotle and his teachings. I didn't read it and I did just fine. We did not take notes. He requires that you turn in a "reflection" each week based on your readings in the book, or based on the discussions in class. A lot of people saw this as an easy A and skipped frequently. In the end, this hurt them b/c it can affect your grade if you miss more than 3 classes. As far as semester grades, he lets you choose your grade and then compares it to what he has chosen for you. You have the option to argue for your grade if you think you deserve better. I have to hand it to Dr. Bardi, though, because he treats everyone with respect and sees them as his equal. All in all, I would say it was a good class, but would not recommend it if you are the type of student who needs a structured classroom environment.
