Considering no one has written a comment on this guy since like 2005, one is due. Bright's American Legal Environment class is hard, so why write a positive comment? ...cause it shows up first and you'll read it. Brights class was relatively easy despite the incredible amount of reading you have to do. Just make sure you read and study hard at least one week before exams (none of that b.s. the night before studying or you'll fail, yep) Do this and you will at least pull a C in his class. Also, make sure you go to every class because he has random "pop" quizzes (he gives you the answer to each one) but are just for attendance. Overall, if you're stuck between which American Legal prof to pick, Bright's not a terrible choice, just make sure you wear your study pants all semester long.

The way that Bright teaches made the material in this class interesting to me. You have to read the book to really understand. His exams are not bad at all...most questions come from stuff we talked about in class, a few come from the reading. Oh, and the attendance quizzes sort of amuze me. Just don't miss them!! I have learned so much from this class...I definitely recommend taking Bright.

I loved this class! Other than his drawings on the board, THE 13 COLONIES, scribble scribble scribble, and the repeated extra credit of who are the 9 justices of the supreme court, and on the final the 9 reindeer! and the 7 dwarves, his class was awesome! I learned soooo much in this class and I got a great grade. Yes I had to study hard but Bright is a great guy who will explain anything to you. Notes are helpful but if you don't write fast get a recorder! He allows them. Great class and if there was a continuation I would definatly take him!

Bright might not be the easiest professor, but he helps out students when he can, often giving out extra credit points and legal advice. Go to class, take good notes and look over them once and awhile. Plan and simple. Expect to have off class at least once a month since he's also a practicing lawyer.

I don't know why so many people complain about professor Bright. Yes the material is a little hard but you don't have to do very much to get a fairly decent grade. Go to class so you don't miss one of the attendance quizzes, study your class notes on a regular basis, and review the case questions in the back of the chapter. Some of the case questions in the back of the chapter are exactly the same as the questions on the test. And he gives you the answers to those questions. So come on people he's not really that bad.

This was probably my favorite class so far. Bright is a great guy, he pretty much explains everything you need to know and gives good, often amusing, examples of the concepts. The tests are easy as long as you look at the questions at the end of the chapters. I'd definitely recommend this class.

i failed the first exam and thought i was gonna have a hard time in this class. I went to see him and he was very nice. All i had to do is keep up with readings and legal cases at the end of the chapter. I went from an F to a B at the end of the semester. If you can get a copy of all his previous test you are guaranteed an A in the class.

Bright's class I thought was one of the most interesting classes I have taken in the Business school. Although his class is all lecture if you are interested in law it goes by quick. He is very straightforward although the test can be a little confusing, not too bad though. No work outside of class. Listen to him, review notes and you will do fine. Overall, a really good guy.

People say he's a good professor but what is so good? HE knows what he's talking about, but can he allow others to as well? No. I probably missed 1 or 2 of his classes, never missed a quiz but somehow I kept getting D's (ended with a D overall as well) on his tests? I was there to take HIS awful notes from the bored and I read the chapters. He has half the test multiple choice and half the test yes or no, so it's like you have to know every concept in order to know the ending case results. Why isn't being in class, taking notes and reading the chapters enough to get a good grade? What else is someone supposed to do? I even went to talk to him about it and he acted like he didn't want to talk to me. I don't think he cares about all of his students and I never felt comfortable being around him let alone talking to him. He knows all the stuff he's talking about but telling us how simple it is if we learn what he's teaching now instead of waiting the night before the test. What does that even mean? He's basically saying teach yourself all this stuff now so you won't have to teach yourself the night before the test. A lot of professors are like him where you feel like you're teaching yourself and going to class is a waste because you don't learn from the actual class anyway.

Good Luck taking Business Law. In order to pass the class...read, read, read & understand!! In class Bright jumps around so much, it's very hard to learn anything. The only thing that I enjoyed was the real world examples that were related to the laws discussed. GO TO CLASS- the 10 pop quizzes (1 questions) are for attendance. It doesn't matter if you get the question wrong..I failed exam 1 & Bright always says he hates to see students do bad in class..just drop it. I kept going to class, even though he figured I needed to get B's on the 2nd & final to pass the class...Didn't happen!!!! Advise when your failing...GO TO CLASS NO MATTER WHAT!! He passed me with flying colors...I feel that was only because I went to office hours and showed that I cared enough. Good Luck!

Prof Bright just constantly lectures. If you miss a class you miss a lot of notes. Also, in his lectures he talks way too fast so most of the time you cannot understand him. If you miss one of his attendance quizzes it knocks your grade down. Also, he really does not care if you pass or fail. He is not very helpful at all. Also, his tests are extremely hard. Do not take business law with him.

Only 3 tests and then random attendance quizzes. Material is hard enough without having to understand his confusing mumbo jumbo. Tests are hard also. Dont take.

Ok...this guy is a lawyer so he knows his stuff, but he is a HORRIBLE prof...His classes consist of all lecture and he scribbles on the board so you don't know what the hell it says, plus his lectures consist of all examples of former cases which you can't write down so basically class is pointless. What makes it worse is the fact that if you miss class he gives pop quizes and if you miss one there goes 1% of your grade. There are 3 tests, which are weighed as 35%, 35%, and 20%, so if you screw up on one you're pretty much f*cked and if you go to him and talk to him about it he says that he can't help you. I would NEVER take him again...

He is not a bad professor, you just really need to read the book. I'm not much for reading so I didn't do as well as I would have liked. The lectures can get boring but I never found myself sleeping in this class, even at 9 in the morning. So if you like reading you should take this professor

all in all hes really a pretty cool guy. His class consists of nothing but lectures. There is no work outside of class other than to read. But dont be fooled, his tests were pretty damn hard, it seemed as though every question on the exam was a trick question. He doesnt take attendance, but he does give pop quizez, if your not there for them than he takes off 1% of your overall grade so watch out. Ohh ya on these quizez all that is required to pass is you name on the paper (his own sneaky little way of taking attendance) All in all though i would suggest this proffesor, if you do the reading and go to class it wont be hard to get a better than i did.
