If you want a fun, easy history class that you learn a lot of cool stuff in Prof. Keyser is your guy. He works with you if you have to miss a class, and he respects the game of football.

Came into a hard situation with having to start in the middle of the semester. Managed to do it though. Great teacher, and the tests are easy. Highly recommended.

He is a really good prof. If you take the night class with him he lets you out early cuz he doesnt want to be there any more than you do. Hes down to earth and will help you if you need it. Hes nice and funny also.

Andy Keyser taught a pretty good history class. If you enjoy listening to lectures and studying from ONLY your notes, then he is a prof for you. However he talks the entire time and doesn't show any visual aids. He has 3 tests I think, all 25 questions taken right from the notes, very easy if you study, with a few short answers. You have readings to do every day, and a quiz occasionally but its not bad. The other book you don't need to buy, I didn't use it once. He's young and has a good sense of humor so that makes the class tolerable.

Dr. Keyser's class was pretty easy. Although it was repetitve (every day, he just stood in front of the class and gave notes), it wasn't so bad. He's a younger guy so his lectures are pretty understandable. He also goes at a pace at which you can take notes. YOU NEED TO TAKE NOTES!!! There are only 3 tests, and the final is not cumilative. He gives you study guides before the tets, which are right from the notes he gives. You do not need to read the textbook unless you miss class, and even if you do, it may not help you- he tests straight out of the notes. You do need to read the primary source book, he also has test questions on that. Once in awhile he gives quizzes on the primary source readings, but they are usually not to bad, and he drops one. There are 2 papers that are VERY easy, and he grades very easily. So, I would recommend Dr. Keyser if you go to class every day and hate to read.

Dr. keyser's class is great. he is so nice and will change the class how the class wants it. he usually ends class early. its so obvious what are on his tests because he lectures and writes on the board and underlines important terms. you dont have to take notes just the stuff he puts on the board. his tests are so easy if you just do that.

Subject: Good approach towards history  (Dec 22 2004, 12:54PM)

Prof. Keyser is an excellent professor of History. I like his approach because rather than read the mind numbingly terrible standard textbook, we always had to read the Human Record book. The next lecture, we'd be expected to know that material, as we'd either discuss it or take a pop quiz on it. His lectures were engaging, you would pay attention because he would draw you in. There were three tests, half mult. choice/half essay. We had three pop quizzes and two papers to write. If you do what he asks of you, which amounts to about 45 minutes of reading for each lecture, you will do fine. Additionally, I'd occasionally have questions about the lecture after class, and he had no problem staying a few minutes to answer them. Take this man if you have the choice.

This prof. is a very funny and down to earth. He rarely held the class for the full time and you don't have to go. He has 3 Tests which if you study you'll do fine. A few pop quizzes about the reading you were suppose to read and extra credit is offered. I would take him again if I could.

I do not think anyone besides history majors really enjoy history classes but Mr. Keyser made this class be as painless as possible. There were two tests and a final which were not hard. I pulled high C's on them without studying and just by going to class and paying attention. He gave us three quizes which were on the readings and two of the times he told us the class before we were going to have a quiz. There were two writing assignments which were not hard and two extra credit opportunities as well which helped to bring up my grade. Overall Mr. Keyser is really friendly, down to earth and easy to approach with any questions. If you have to suffer through a history class pick one of his.

This is not the teacher... taking any History with him is hell. He does not use any of the textbooks you buy. He makes his classes lots of discussion. He assigns you many readings for each class and they are not easy readings.
