Professor Broyles was incredibly easy. He doesn't take attendance, which was a major plus, however, a lot of the classes were made up of handing in 2 abstracts that were assigned for every class. Unless you have a friend in class to hand them in for you, you have to go to hand the abstracts in. Other than that, it was very easy. It is a class based on a lot of writing. There are no tests or quizzes. He assigns an annotated bibliography which is time consuming but definitely easy. I am definitely not what I would call a good writer which is why I dreaded this class, however, Broyles is the easiest grader I've had so far at Shippensburg. Take the time to find the key points in the articles he assigns for you to summarize, and you're golden. I STRONGLY recommend taking him if you have the option.

Really easy. He randomly makes hilarious comments that catch you off guard sometimes so thats great. The entire class is pretty much discussion but it can get kind of boring if no one talks, obviously. He assigns some outside work that really only takes like 15 minutes to do. TAKE HIM!

Dr. Broyles is a very easy A. You have 4 graded assignments: 2 exams (includes the final) and 2 1 page essays. He grades very easy on the essays and if you study for the exams you will do fine. I found that his tests were a little tricky in that the definition questions are harder to understand compared to the definitions he gives you in class. He tells you on the first day of class that if you fail the first exam, but improve on both essays and on the final test you will get an A. Pretty cool professor, really boring, but I think that's because the class wasn't very talkative.

In this class our grade was made up of 2 exams, one paper, and attendance. The first exam was made up of 10 short answer questions and the final (which he did the week before finals) was made up of two essays. As long as you showed up to class and paid attention the exams were super easy. He shows a lot of videos, most of them are interesting, and has discussions the rest of the time. It is boring but he tells you everything you need to know. The paper was an analytical paper on the book Into the Wild, which is a short interesting and easy read. Dr. Broyles is also really nice and down to earth. He cancels a bunch of classes. I would highly recommend him.

Easiest prof. and class I've had since I started college. I didn't study at all and still got A's. All you have to do is go to class and pay a little attention and you'll get an A. There is no homework, a couple quizzes and two tests, including the final. He also shows like 10 movies in his class itís really easy. Take this guy.

Broyles is awesome!! He was super nice and made the class easy. There was a tough assignment at the end, but he gives you basically every test question on the study guides, which are mainly from the quizzes in class. He loves class participation and was really cool. Take him if you can.

Dr. Broyles is one of the greatest teachers at Shippensburg! If you get the chance to take him - do it. His classes can be a bit challenging and he does make you think, but he is easy-going, not real hard, and an added bonus is he cancels class alot. He is a great professor and I have taken him more than once.

Dr. Broyles is one of the few professors on campus that actually cares. His class is easy but only because he makes it that way. If you show up and pay attention you will get an A. If you take Dr. Broyles then consider yourself lucky.

Broyles is as easy-going as a professor can be. He doesn't harp on attendance (although he does take it at the beginning of class) and his exams are EXACTLY from what he lectures on. He is laid back and doesn't take things so seriously, take him and have fun!

Dr. Broyles' class was wonderful. We actually learned something, funny how that happens at college. However, you don't realize how much you've learned until it's over. He shows movies and has class discussions; you write one paper and have two tests, all of which he's prepared you to do well on. Take this professor-you will love him-promise.

I learned to think in his class, although I didn't really grasp the terms too much. It's really cool when he goes on tangents, especially about the president and minorities!!! Haha. He's great. Tests are easy, he's cool, and can offer his own personal stories to illustrate the terms. Take him.

The class is basically discussion. The more you talk, the better your grade will be. There were 3 tests, participation and we did a pamplet on different cultures. You watch a lot of movies too. I liked him and his teaching methods, but that's because I participate in class. I would def recommend him if you like to talk.

Dr. Broyles is a good guy and he cares, but his class is so boring. Every week, the class is the same. On MOnday, you turn in notes from your readings then discuss them in a discussion group. In this group, he mostly talks because no one else really cares or wants to say anything. Then Wednesday is movie day, watch a movie that takes up the whole class period. The on Friday, we discuss the video again in a big discussion group. There is a mid-term and a final. There is a brochure for a minority group in America that you have to do. The class is easy, but so boring.

Dr. Broyles' class was pretty easy. Two exams (mid-term and final). The first was multiple choice and the second was an essay. Not comprehensive. There's a brochure you must do, which is really easy. He grades on participation and on the annoying outlines you have to do every week on the reading. His class tends to be boring on discussion days, especially when no one wants to talk. His movies are weird, but some are interesting. Not a bad class to take.

I have NEVER done this horrible in a Sociology class. In high school I got a 99% and in this class I got a C. It was only three tests and that is it. If you do not do well on one or two of the tests then you are screwed. The material on the tests is not well covered in class and he never seems to take an interest in his students.

This professor was ridiculous. The conversations are easy but the quizzes are impossible. I found that many of questions had exact expected answers with only 30 minutes to take a 25 questions test. No time to look the answer up so you're left with guessing or memory of a 4 digit figure. Would not recommend his online class at all.

After reading the comments on here I decided that taking Broyles for sociology was a good bet... however, I think he changed his curriculum this semester. There is a required work book for his class with all of this analytical data that you have to interpret which of course I always interpreted the wrong way. He just seems like a harder grader this semester so I dont know if he will continue with this way of teaching, but thats what I've gotten out of him so far this semester.

He is boring and shows a lot of movies .. but his exams are pretty easy if you study! He only has like 4 grades in his class: the term-paper, midterm & final, and participation/attendance. I was really worried about my grade in here but I did it. I don't know how but I made it. He is really nice tho.

Dr. Broyles is so nice and funny, for the most part, haha. His classes can be a bit boring sometimes, but he tries to make it interesting. There are lots of movies that are actually quite good. The quizzes are easy and the midterm was cake. All you need to do is study the terms he gives you in class. I would take him again!

He changed the book, so now we dont do any outlines. His tests are about half vocab and then half are impossible facts and percentages. His classes are boring and not mandatory to attend.

Dr. Broyles is a very interesting teacher...when he's actually there. I took sociology with him and i enjoyed it. I thought it was interesting stuff, except when we had class cancelled every week. Take him if you want a B, A's are real tough to come by.
