When I took this class there was no rating for him so I was a bit worried. To my surprise he was very easy! You should take him if you can. As long as you study you will have no prob getting an A. He gives a mid/fin and a paper so u need to study for them. Overal a great guy!

Dr. McKenzie is a great professor. There are only three homework assignments (in History I and II), and they're really quick and easy to do. He also assigns a paper on a book (I had Beowulf and All Quiet on the Western Front); the paper isn't very long, and it was also pretty easy to complete and get a decent grade on. He only gives a midterm and a final, no other tests. You have to study for them, but he's not a hard grader. He doesn't have an attendance policy, but I was compelled to go to class almost every day. He throws in anecdotes with the course material which keeps the class entertaining. He mostly lectures while using powerpoint or overhead notes, there really isn't much class participation and no group projects. That, for me, is the ideal class. I strongly reccommend that you take Dr. McKenzie if you can. He's a great prof.

Note-taking in every class for the whole class time, no group work/projects of any kind. You just sit there everytime bored out of your mind. A midterm, a final, and a paper make up the majority of your grade. His tests are really hard because you never know what might be on them. It's anything from ten chapters of the book. He doesn't give review sessions. Oh and there's no extra credit. Have fun. :)

Dr. McKenzie's class was really interesting, but his tests are a little harder than I expected. He does not really give extra credit, so if you take him make sure you study ALOT for the 2 tests because it is hard to make up for a bad grade.
