Do not let the class 'Statistics' scare you if you have Professor Cook. He makes everything very simple to understand...as long as you put forth the effort to understand! This class can be an easy A if you do your work and go to class for the in class assignments and the short friday quizzes. He is always willing to help you before/after class with anything you do not understand.

So, if you're not good at math.. at all.. take this professor. His way of teaching is the way I like it. No tests at all, just a quiz every friday. I prefer this way of teaching because remembering the information for tests is my weak point. Then all you have is a final project on anything you thought was interesting. So no tests at all. If you want to get a good grade just take him.

Prof. Cook is awesome. He's the best professor I had this semester and actually knew what he was talking about. The tests and questions of the day weren't difficult and I didn't really have to study for them to get an A. Also, the final is just a short presentation instead of some long, boring math test. Cook is also willing to help whenever you need it and actually cares about his students. The guy even offered to take people to the voting polls. I highly recommend him!

His class can get boring only because he's teaching math, not a very exciting subject. But he is a pretty funny guy and tries to make class fun. He really wants everyone to succeed and tries very hard to help you. If you go in during his office hours, he will do your homework for you. Only 9 homeworks all year and they were usually 10 problems. Quizzes are easy and he helps you during them if you ask for it. I would recommend him. It was an easy B+ (I almost had an A).

The main goal of Professor Cook is for you to pass and understand material. He allows you to use your notebook and textbook for quizzes and the final isn't cumulative. Actually, you don't have to take the final if you have a good enough grade. His classes were entertaining. I'm not good at math and he helped me to understand. Although sometimes rash, he's a really good teacher.

Okay, let's get this out of the way: I am a complete moron at math. If math isn't your forte, and you need it for a gen ed, I recommend taking Professor Cook. He's a nice guy, and the class is actually pretty easy. If a moron like me can get a C, than you should definitely get an A or B! Recommended!

Prof. Cook's classes were extremeley easy and only required taking notes off of an overhead/powerpoint. He makes really good use of the comp. equipment in the room (like the smartboard) which helps to keep your attention in an otherwise extremely dull and boring classes. There is usually one 12 point quiz each week and 3 tests, followed by a cumulative final. The quizzes are so simple and pretty much make-up your grade, plus you get to drop your 2 lowest quizzes. The tests are simple too, just look over your notes. Cook is an awesome prof. and is always around to help you out. I'll admit he makes some really corny jokes, but they actually help you remember everything for his class in the end. I highly recommend Cook for any and all math classes!!!

Ok Professor Cook makes a lot of jokes. Most of them are pretty lame. But it makes class more interesting. He drops your 2 lowest quizzes. And if you miss a quiz you can go and retake it at any time. If he is not around he can schedule a time that is better for you. He has a website with all of the notes on it already so that if you miss a class you can still be caught up. You can come to him with any questions. Most of his lectures make perfect sense and if you study your notes you should do well on the quizzes and tests. I don't honestly think that I opened the book more than 5 times the whole semester. He gives homework assignments that are optional... they are normally a good 30 problems or more though. I would recommend him.

This class was sooo easy ... his tests have some surprise questions on them but as long as you try you'll be alright. There's a quiz every week but you get to drop your 2 lowest grades so it's no big deal ... they actually really help your grade. If you're good at math and know what you're doing then you'll be fine ... if you hate math just make sure you study your ass off and review quizzes and you could end up with an A.!

His lectures are so so so so.....boring! I drank two cups of coffee before each class and could barely stay awake; he can take the simplest proceedure, say adding two numbers, and turn it into an hour and fifteen minute lecture...somehow! His class wasn't too hard, I didn't really ever study, and I wasn't really awake during class. He's really chill to help you understand something though, plus if you go to his office for answers he plays some killer jazz. So...because he listens to some awesome jazz, and because he's helpful, and because he's mellow and chill...I really loved his class and I enjoyed it. Peace.... Sparky.

As far as math professors go, this guy is definitely one of the best. Sure, he's kind of dry and makes corny jokes, but he's a genuinely nice person and will bend over backwards to help you if you need it. He does drop two quiz grades, like everyone else says. Go ahead and take him, you won't regret it.

Cook is by far the best math teacher I've had since freshman year in high school. He knows what he's talking about, is always there early and late to answer questions and makes class fun by telling stories and some corny jokes. His class is easy. I would highly reccomend taking this guy for math.

He's such an easy and good teacher and such a nice guy! He gives notes on powerpoint that you can get from his website.. He doesn't give any homework, he allows you to drop your two lowest quiz scores and even if you miss one you can make it up.. He even reviews before the quizzes, if you can take him do yourself a favor and do it!

Mr Cook is a great teacher. He allows you to drop your two lowest quiz scores. All of the notes are on powerpoint and available from the web on his website. Even if youre not good on tests these weekly 12 pt quizes will help keep your grade high. He is very helpful on tests too... if youre confused he'll do anything to help you find the answer you need. Take Mr Cook if you get the chance

I took pre-calc with mr. cook and it was by far the easiest class I ever took. We have weekly quizes which are really easy and 3 major tests which are also very easy. He'll let you use your calculator for everything on the test and quiz (even if its graphing and transformations). I only showed up on days we had quizes and test...no attendance taken, and he puts the study questions, and notes on his web page. If I were you I would def. take Mr.Cook for any math class there is.

Cook is a very nice guy to take for a class like pre-calc. I know's what he's doing, and he uses the technology of the room to his full advantage (the use of a drawing pad helped the lectures with examples) and he tried to keep everyone into what he was talking about with horrible jokes. If you are taking pre-calc (or a similar level of math course) try and take Cook...he's worth the time.

He is really boring and tries to be funny. His teaching style is hard to follow since he likes to tell you the hardest method first and then briefly skim over the easy way. He's never really sure of his answers or how to do things and he's def. obsessed with his smart notebook. He's a nice guy he's just not a good teacher.
