Dr. Joseph knows her stuff and is very good at relaying the content. I really looked forward to her classes, as she caused us to stop and think about the ideologies and issues that encompass this volatile region. She's also a classy lady (kinda cute too!) and was a pleasure to have had for this class.

I hate history and I still managed to do well. Its a dry subject unless you are interested in it and Prof. Joesph is very interested in and wants people to like it too. She assigns four books, but as long as you go to class to review them, you don't really need to read them. Her class reviews are very helpful, and even though I did awful on the quizzes in class I still did well. She also offers extra credit to help boost your grade!!

Dr. Joseph is very easy to understand. She is good at explaining things and goes over the information in a timely but slow enough fashion that you have time to learn everything easily. She is a very nice woman and I def. recommend her!

I love Dr. Joseph. And I tried to take her for History II, but it was closed. She is a great lady and she really knows what she is talking about. You take a quiz about every 2 weeks, on the documents and really nothing on the readings. Pay attention to the documents, b/c that is what you will use for your 6 page paper at the end. Mid term and final are easy!!

I will be completely honest...I really don't have much of an appetite for Mid East history, but in order to graduate we History majors need 3 foreign history credits (1-European, 1-Asian, and 1-Mid East/African/or Latin American)...so I took Dr. Joseph. The class was very interesting and I learned a great deal. She grades fairly easy and the work load was very light. She does assign too many novels (5-6) but we were not tested on any...book discussions only! She does a nice job with her lectures and the exams weren't too bad. I would recommend Dr. Joseph...she's very approachable.

Keep your syllabus - she follows it EXACTLY. 5 quizzes, & she drops the lowest, midterm, final & easy 6 page paper. She hands out a 'review' sheet for the tests, which is basically the test. She goes over the info on the quizzes the class before - predictable, easy class. Take Her!!!!

Dr. Joseph is a really nice woman who cares about what she is teaching. She may not have the most exciting lectures or topics to discuss but she is not a very hard grader.

Prof. Joseph is very kind and is very accepting of peoples responses to questions regardless of whether you are right or wrong. If you are wrong she effectively explains why and gives understandable responses. I thought that getting an A in this class was possible because Prof. Joseph makes it easy to understand what she is looking for on the quizes and exams so there is no quess work.

Sabrina is an easy teacher. She kind of acts timid and shy like she is fresh out of grad school. Her class is not that bad. As long as you do the readings that are assigned pretty much for every class then you will do fine. She gives a quiz about every two weeks on the readings, which she goes over in class. There are about 3 short stories you have to read. there are not tests, but the midterm and final are made up ID terms and two essays, which come from the readings. The ID terms she lists on the board at the begining of every class. And you have to write a paragraph on them. She is an easy grader.

If you're not much of a history buff, definitely consider Professor Joseph. Her classes are extremely boring in that all you do is take notes and go over documents. You take 6 document quizzes and you get to drop one. You can also replace a quiz grade with an on-campus event. Mid-term and final are both essay format. You have to write one 6-page paper - but it's not difficult. There is no excuse as to why you should fail this class. Joseph is a very friendly Prof and is always available if you need it.

This class required very little work to get a decent grade. The quizes were easy, however, the midterm and final were slightly more intimidating given the amount of material that you're supposed to know. She is very lax with her grading though, so it still isn't bad. Her teaching style is very boring, she just stands there and talks and gives you powerpoint notes that you never use for anything. The group discussions were pretty lame too. Overall, this was an easy class so I would recommend it in that respect.

If you go to class, very easy!! 6 quizzes, she explains what is going to be on them. The midterm and final aren't too bad. Go to class, pay attention, great prof.

Dr Joseph was the easiest history prof I've had. It is a must to take her class. The quizzes are very easy and the mid term was easy too...lots of notes to write though....only one paper to write...good teacher though

This really is not a history class, but a religion comparison and women's roles in society class. She gives you notes on the culture and yet never asks any questions about them on the quizzes, only religion and what women did. She talks as if shes reading an essay and never gets the class involved. Quizzes are near impossible and tests are just as bad.

I'm not sure what the heck these other people are talking about... Her class is impossible.. I have never gotten above a 10 outa 20 on any of her quizes and I study my ass off... Dont even bother taking notes, they are worthless, but anything that is said about the book "The Human Record" TAKE NOTES ON THAT.... that is what the quizes are on..... This class is also extremely boring, trust me, you will want to shoot yourself after a half hour

Professor Joseph is nice enough, and is a very easy grader. 1/5 of your grade is participation... I missed one class, put forth a little bit of effort, and she gave me an A- for it, so no complaints there. If you read the documents for the quizzes, and get a basic understanding of what they're trying to say, then you should be okay. Also, there is a paper you have to do, but the hardest part of that is the outline (picking a legit topic). The class itself is extremely boring. It's a Gen Ed, so you'll need it, so if you get her, just bear through the class, put forth some effort and you should be fine.
