Adams might be a hard teacher, but it was worth it. Her exams are hard if you don't read and put a lot of time into studying. She also gives open note quizzes which really help your grade and other in class work that will help you out if you don't do to well on the exams.

This class was so easy. You took chapter quizzes and a few tests but she lets you drop your lowest scores on each. I didn't even take the final because I did well enough on all the other assignments. She doesn't take attendance and only has 2 or 3 easy homework assignments. Breezed through this class without even trying. I'd definitely take her if she's available.

Dr. Adams class was not the easiest, but she was able to use good examples in class, which made the subject matter of the course much easier to understand. The class was virtually all lecture, which got boring sometimes, but that's every class from time to time. Her sense of humor is a bit wacky and her laugh a little obnoxious sometimes.....however, she really cares for her students and will work hard to explain things that you don't understand. Her exams consist of Multiple Choice ?s and usually 2 essay questions. We covered 9 chapters in the class. After each chapter there was a 10 point OPEN NOTE quiz, so take good notes (both from lecture and from the book). They're not too bad at all. You don't necessarily need to read the book, but it's a good idea to read over the bolded terms in the text. If you are looking for a really easy class, don't take her.....but if you're looking to learn something and put forth a little effort she really is a great teacher.

While I never really considered cognitive psychology to be terribly interesting, Dr. Adams really turned me on to it. The textbook for the class is not always easy to understand when reading through it, but she always explains things in class very thoroughly so the material is easy to understand. She gives a lot of great, practical examples to help get her point across. Her exams can be tricky, but if you read the chapters and study your notes, you'll do just fine. All of her quizzes are open note, so there's no need not to get a perfect score on them. If you ever need help, Dr. Adams is always willing and available during office hours to help anyone out. If you're ever in a rut, seriously go talk to her. She is absolutely fabulous! I love her.

Everything about prof adams on this page is a lie. She is annoying and not funny and will keep you there until 5 mins after class because she's not done laughing at herself.... seriously I cant stand the thought at being in the same room as her.... 4 people that I know including me dropped it after 3 weeks of taking her but we were just the lucky ones... Quizzes are not open note... she has chapter quizzes before every chapter and you have to read the whole chapter before the quiz which takes like 4 hours to comprehend because there are so many different studies... and yes the quizzes are that specific with questions like 1 and 2 but not 3 which is a total mind f*ck. Good luck to anyone who decides to take this class. She shows no sympathy to anyone... she treats you like you're a graduate in psychology and you know everything she does.

Professor Adams is a Great Professor. She gives great examples and is very straight forward. All of the quizzes are open note, following the same answers on the exam, which consist of 40 Multiple choice and 2 essay questions and you can pretty much figure out what they are. Take Her!

She is a very cool professor. If you need to take Gen. Psych. as a requirement, and want the easy way out, take her! All notes provided on blackboard. Read the bold definitions in the book that are not in the notes. Tests are strictly composed from the notes and bold definitions. You have an open-note quiz on every chapter. 15 quiz questions appear exactly as is on each test. 3 Tests and 1 Optional Final. Boeree has met his match!

Dr. Adams was very effective in teaching the course. All her notes are on power point slides you can download from blackboard. Unfortunitly, you have to go to most of the classes in order to do well on the quizzes. The quizzes are easy and are open notes, and most of the quiz questions are on the test. She taught the class very well and made it some what exciting. If you go to class and do the work, you should have no problem getting an A.

Dr. Adams was very effective in teaching this course. While some lectures were pretty borning, it was an easy class. The notes are on blackboard but she has an attendence policy which makes it hard to miss class. The quizzes are easy, 10 questions and you can use your notes. The questions that are on the quiz are almost always on the test. The tests are pretty easy and you just need to read over the material. Overall, she's a pretty cool professor and she gives a lot of extra credit!

I absolutly loved Prof Adams. I was dreading going into psych, but this class was not only effective, it was fun. Her notes are on blackboard, and you just need to print them out. Theres a quiz at the end of every chapter you cover, but dont worry about it, its open notes and she makes sure that you know everything. She uses practical examples which really help you understand concepts. Her tests arent terrible, you just have to put a little bit of effort into them, plus..all of the quiz questions end up on the test. For our final, we knew 20/50 answers ahead of time. If you have to take psych, I strongly suggest that you take this prof. No one could say anything bad about her unless they never went to class and failed.

She is a very good professor. She gives clear examples so that you know exactly what she is talking about, and then it's easier to remember information that is on the tests. She takes attendance every day, but it's good to be there in case there is a quiz- which are all open notes! And the quiz questions are always on the tests, so you already know a handful of questions that will be on it. I definitely recommend taking this professor.

This Professor was the worst I have ever had. She literally shows now sympathy for any student. She laughed in my face when I ask for some sympathy.. Over ten students missed the first assignment because the book store was back ordered on our books. We had the receipts and proof but she still would not budge. Then on the first exam she manipulates you by the way she words her questions and fools you. The average grade was a 60% with 21 F's in the class..When we asked if this normal she said yes, my students always fail tests... She acted proud of it which to me indicated she truly does NOT care about her students success.. The material in the class is very interesting and I am honestly sad to drop this class, but I cannot stay in her class with her outrageous grading techniques and I feel her motivation to make her students struggle. She thinks we are graduate students and gets mad when you do not know everything, when this is some students third class in their major. I would highly recommend you do not take her and do not pay attention to these positive comments, they fooled me.

Dr. Adams cares a lot about her students and is willing to change the way the class is taught in order to comply with her students' needs. That being said, I would not take her class again. The class was extremely difficult, because you have to know and understand many studies and the ages of development.

I just want to say, do not be tricked by my grade in this course. So who ever commented above that this class was easy and the quizzes are open note is a serious liar. This class is by far the worst psych class I have ever had. I've had a lot of psych courses here at shippensburg and I have never felt so helpless in a class environment. This class, the material, and the teacher are impossible. I'm a very determined student and I work for my grades. The amount of effort I put into this class was unreal. I studied and prepared more for her tests than all my other classes combined. Don't bother asking for help because she will just talk down to you and make you feel like a total idiot. I know the information is complex and you have to be very intelligent to teach the course, however, this woman needs a serious lesson on how to teach effectively and actually encourage students to ask when they need help rather than just talk to us like we already have PHD's. This woman is not nice, not helpful, and not a good choice to take. Half the class was failing by the second half of the semester, as if that not bad enough, numerous students heard her talking to other students about how stupid the people were in our class. She is very unprofessional and a horrible teacher overall. Save yourself and avoid her classes.

Dr. Adams makes the same mistake many new professors do. She instructs the class to purchase a textbook, read the chapters in the textbook, and then during class SHE REREADS THE TEXTBOOK TO THE STUDENTS. I can do that myself without paying tuition--I have been getting Extremely good grades in the course, though most other students have not. Both sections of this course are failing. I'm doing very well simply because I have the ability to teach myself out of the book. I'm rating this professor negatively because her job is obsolete. I'm a big girl, I can read. Rereading the book to the class is NOT teaching. I understand that this little charade is necessary for students who don't bother to try to comprehend the information on their own, but if you don't spoon feed them, they will take the hint and read the book, or they will fail. I just have a major problem purchasing an expensive book AND paying tuition, only to receive the exact same information twice. TEACH US SOMETHING OUTSIDE OF THE BOOK OR HELP US APPLY IT!

Who ever is saying that the quizzes in this class are open note is a LIAR! I'm taking her right now and the class average on the first was was a 3! You read that right 3. Since the class is doing so poorly she lets us print out quizzes and use the book but that still didn't help on the test... I'm not even a psych major and I feel sorry for those that are. Seriously STAY AWAY!!!!! The class is hard enough and she makes it WORSE!
