Dr. Massad, is by far the greatest professor at shippensburg university. He may not be a lifetime professor, but his career in the world of real estate and his business knowledge more than make up for his lack of teaching expierience. Most importantly he makes his students want to go out and make money like he has done and that is clearly the goal of the finance program. Take him for anything.

Vic will give you a lot of information that you can apply in real life. He is not a career academic, like most of the Ph.D's; he is a business person first. He has a lot of background in real estate and investing. His Ph.D is in marketing and he has run his own Ebay business. The class was very relevant to the business world; Vic tells you how it really is. He prepares you for the tests well and allows a crib sheet. This subject isn't easy, no matter who's teaching it. The 4 case studies you have to complete will take quite a bit of time. He goes by the textbook, so plan on reading it as well as coming to class to see what he stresses. He is very accessible outside of class; the most of any prof I've had yet.

He's a real nice guy that teaches a not so easy course. He tries to make things interesting. You get a cheat sheet for the tests and he goes over the reviews well. I'd take him over the foreign profs just cause he speaks english well.

I wasn't planning to post until I saw what that other person wrote. This guy was easy and there wasn't that much work if you paid attention. The final was ?'s he gave us beforehand and all he did was change the numbers and on top of that he let us use a crib sheet! I guess it's true what they say, international management majors are stupid, especially when a comm/journ kid gets a B.

First of all this guy speaks english which is a huge advantage in the finance department. His tests were fair and he gave out assignments that were easy and counted alot toward your grade. Didn't care if you showed up or not and added personal experiences to make otherwise dry material better. I'd take this guy for any finance class.

He shouldn't be a teacher. That's all there is to it. He didn't even get his answers right half the time, and then made you feel really stupid when you couldn't figure out his own messed up examples. Then he continues to degrade us by implying that everyone that goes to Shippensburg is a lush and we just don't make enough time for schoolwork. Of course, it can't be that his teaching skills leave MUCH to be desired and his assignments are ridiculous. He may be a good antiques dealer (cuz God knows we heard about it enough in class), but that is truly all he should stick to. Do yourself a favor, don't take him.

I don't know why this guy teaches any finance at all. I'm a senior finance major who took this class late out of scheduling error and this guy was doing all accounting stuff. I already knew everything, and this guy is hard to follow in class, and his notes are extremely unorganized. If you're a finance major, take Choui for financial management...that way you'll learn his style and he'll like you by the time you need to take real finance classes

Dr. Massad is by far one of the worst profs I've ever had. His method of teaching is writing formulas on the board, doing all the math in his head, and writing the final answer on the board. He doesn't show you many steps to get the answer, and doesn't explain anything at all. His tests are ridiculous, usually around 13 people get F's or lower on each exam, and we have 7-8 page projects due around every 3 weeks. And don't bother going to his office for help, you're far better going to the finance tutors. He doesn't explain anything. I went in for help on this one case, on which all we were told to do was answer the questions, and he was like, oh, you need to do about 10 more steps, which he never mentioned until the day before it was due. I've studied about 7 hours for his tests, and all I got was low Cs. Don't take Massad for Financial Management if you can help it.

Class was very average. Only complaint was that his reviews did not narrow things down for the tests. Expect to study everything. His final is hard, you have to study 12 essay questions only 3 to 4 of which will be picked. It really eats up your time.
