Dr. Ricardo has been the best professor I've ever had. I took him for 202 and 204 spanish conversations and cultural studies. It was a bit challenging at first to get used to being taught in Spanish but he is so patient and very understanding. You can tell he wants you to succeed in his class room and does all that he can to get you where you want to be, but of course, you have to work hard to get there too. When you're not talking with you neighbors about your weekend, singing karaoke, or giving presentations, you're most likely to die of laughter as you watch this fantastic man sing to shakira. Your life will never be the same. Take him. You won't regret it.

Dr. Ricardo has been the best Spanish professor I've had yet. I had him for two semesters in a row and will be taking him again next semester. He makes the classroom a fun place to be which lightens the mood for everyone to speak spanish together which in the end helps your vocabulary and fluency. He's hysterical and if you're lucky he will sing Shakira for you. Take him. You'll learn a lot and enjoy it.

If you want to learn, take Dr. Ricardo. His teaching ability is only surpassed by his love for teaching. The class requires a great deal of out-of-class work, but is well worth it. He teaches by examples, real life examples you retain, not just cram for a semester then forget before the next begins. If the class does not seem to be catching onto the concept of the lesson, he re-teaches the concept until the class understands. Definitely worth the time and effort to take Dr. Ricardo and one of the best investments you could make in your future!

The only professor to take for spanish. Don't take anybody else. He answers any question and does not make you feel like an idiot if you get lost in the class. Take him!

Dr. Ricardo is all about ACTLF (American council of teachers of foreign languages)..So you are thinking: so what? who gives a rat's a**? What this means is that he is up to date w/ the most current trends in teaching foreign languages. His PHD is like 6 months old, so he is totally CURRENT in what's going on in the world of teaching foreign languages. Dr. R is a TRUE LATINO. He reads it and breaths it. His classes are full of the most current topics on what's happening in the spanish-speaking world. BUT DON'T EXPECT TO BE SPOON-FED. Because his approach is SO MODERN....modern approaches tell you that students will do A LOT OF WORK, so you will have to study outside of class and work on projects quite a bit. You won't be doing drills in the class YO SOY, TU ERES, EL ES. Forget it!! If you want a fun class with a little bit of homework, sign up.

Professor Ricardo is one of the goofiest and down-to-earth profs I've had at ship. His classes are always interesting, but you must be on your toes b/c his classes involve a lot of class participation and speaking in spanish. Tests are mostly verbal, but he preps you enough that you should do fine if you attend classes regularly.

Overall his class wasn't that bad. You have a couple quizzes, exams, tell me more (language lab stuff), and little homework. The only thing I really hated about the class was its almost impossible to study. He doesn't go over vocab with you or anything... you pretty much learn on your own (or attempt to). I prefer other Spanish profs over him but whatever works for you.
