First off, Prof Schwilk is soo nice! He makes class interesting with lots of discussion. You also don't have very many assignments and if you look over your notes the tests are pretty easy. His final was also online, which was great. Def take him, well worth it!!!

Prof. Schwilk is an extremely nice guy who is very knowledgeable in this area. You can tell that special education is his field. The classes can get boring with all power points, but I def. learned a lot. He grades really easy and if you get points taken off, if you have a decent rebuttal, you will get the points back. I would take him again!

Dr. Schwilk is an amazing teacher. He really knows what he is talking about and his classes are so interesting. He gives you study guides for his midterm and final exams (the only 2 tests all semester). When you go to observe a disability class, it is probably one of the most interesting things. I went to Yellow Breeches in Carlisle. I learned a lot in this class and will actually take some of the information with me.

Subject: WANT POWERPOINTS?  (Nov 19 2006, 05:59PM)

This professor is super-nice, always available even on IM. He's very devoted to teaching and extremely accessible. No attitude, no huge distance from his students. The class I took w/ him was rather dry, and he employed a lot of power points. They helped you study and understand the material, but too many powerpoints make you feel like you are in a boardroom :(

Yes I received an A in this class but I learned nothing. It was an online class but there was no feedback from him so it made it hard to know if I was doing anything right. He never graded anything and never gave any feedback on discussion boards. If you want an A for an online class then take anything he teaches over the summer. If you want to learn something then take another prof.

Subject: Online Course  (Sep 28 2010, 08:31AM)

Class:Intro to Exceptionality (B+)

Don't get me wrong, I actually enjoyed the material. It is a very important area that all teachers need to understand completely. Yet, Dr. Schwilk is a liar to say the least. He says in the beginning that he doesn't want us to stress out, and that his availability will be 24/7. As Dwight would say on The Office, this statement is completely "false." He pretty much abandoned us 2 weeks into the course without any warning. Then 3 1/2 weeks into the course (which is only 5 weeks long) he apologized and said that he would be much more involved. Again, that would be "false." He never responded to emails or gave any feedback. I wish I could explain how I got a "B+" in this course, but I have no idea. I emailed him many times during the course asking for feedback, and get nothing. I also emailed him with an explanation for how he gave me a 'B+" in his course. He said he would look it over and respond within a week. Third times a charm? NOPE. It is over a month later and haven't heard back from him. He is a fraud and signs up to teach online courses just to get money. Maybe in the classroom he's a good prof, but I wouldn't advise taking him during the summer. Make sure alcohol is in plenty.

Took a class online. Gives everyone an A but not much for helping with problems. Very unresponsive to email questions.
