Professor Stambaugh's class was really enjoyable, especially for my first semester. The way her class is structured is fairly reasonable but don't be fooled, it's not easy. You have 2 out-of-class essays, 60 homework points to acquire (which are easy to obtain before semester's end), 5 exams (including a cumulative final), a research assignment, and her infamous brain project. All of these are easy unless you cram, otherwise good luck. Her lectures are almost never boring because she is HILARIOUS, and her notes are set up in the easiest possible way. Be warned though her exams are not easy!. Study hard and you will succeed. She's perhaps the best Psychology professor to have.

Professor Stambaugh was an amazing teacher for my General Psychology class. She really wants to get to know all of her students and even in my class of 70, she knew all of our names within two weeks. She makes the class very entertaining. You do have to read for her class, but the material isn't too difficult. The papers and homework are not strenuous and can easily be done. Plenty of opportunities for points! My only complaint was that she spent too much time on a few aspects to help us understand, so it felt a little excessive.

She's my absolute favorite professor, would recommend her to anyone. Makes me want to be a psych major. She is hilarious and very understanding, easygoing. Love her homework system, you only need 40 points and you're done, she gives opportunities for more than that. I only had one issue in class is pop quizzes on the reading, that because I didnt read. Do the reading if you have time, it's interesting but you can get by in class without it.

Definitely a great professor. She uses powerpoints but not in the dull make you want to fall asleep way. She's funny and uses funny examples. Not much writing on her tests... it may be a short answer or labeling a neuron and defining the parts or something. There is a brain project at the end of the year which I think is kinda entertaining and easy to boost your grade, there is one two page paper which is easy. She does have pop quizzes but I have gotten good grades on them without studying before. Though obviously I recommend studying.

Very nice prof. Her teaching style is very effective, and easy to follow. Gives notes on PowerPoint, but knows her stuff. Plenty of opportunity for extra credit. Tests are pretty easy if you study a little. Gives impromptu quizzes, but they're pretty easy. One piece of advise: read the required chapters before class just so you're up to speed for class discussions. Overall, very good prof and fairly easy class.

I would definitely take any of her classes. I had it early in the morning and even then she could make the class laugh. She made the information interesting and everything made more sense. The tests weren't too bad as long as you had the notes and she practically gives you the answers for quizzes. Not a hard grader on papers either. Only thing is you can only skip one day before she takes points off... that is if she remembers to take attendance. Take this if you're looking for an fun easy class.

I had her class at 8 in the morning so I was usually exhausted when I got there but she always kept things interesting! I thought she was very funny and very nice! The homework was easy so all you have to do is remember to do it. Overall it's a relatively easy class! I would take her again if I had the chance!

Her class was easy & fun. As long as you look over/study somewhat for the exams you'll be fine. You have one paper to write (which is extremely easy), have 40pts worth of homework (which there are plenty of opportunities for in case you miss a few), etc.

I have her for general psych and she knows how to make it fun and interesting all while keeping it pretty easy to deal with. The tests are not very hard and the paper is pretty easy to deal with as well.

Stambaugh is such a nice and sweet prof! She teaches through powerpoint and interaction with her class. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of work. You have 5 exams, lots of pop quizzes, two papers, and a HORRIBLE brain model (I hated that thing!). However, her friendly attitude definitely makes up for the work. Pay attention, go to class, and definitely take her for Psych if you can.

I really liked going to class with Professor Stambaugh. She made class fun, and I learned a lot. There were 5 tests, 2 written assignments, and a brain project. There were also plenty of pop quizzes and homework assignments. You are graded on many different things in the class. The class was easier for me because I outlined the chapters before she lectured on them. This was a great way to stay organized in her class.

Subject: Awesome Psych Prof!  (Nov 04 2008, 02:32PM)

You definitely want to take Stambaugh~ she is so good at explaining things and gives plenty of examples until everyone understands exactly what she's talking about. She's really funny and jokes around in class all the time. Oh and her pop quizzes are really easy- she always gives little hints so you'll get the answer right unless you're stupid... Her tests are ridiculously easy if you actually study. You only have to do enough homework to accumulate 40 HW points, then after that the assignments are optional. She gives an extra credit opportunity, and a lot of outside assignments, so if you bomb a test you'll still be fine, and she drops your lowest 2 quiz grades. She's just awesome- take her!

Shes a good teacher. I think we have 4 or 5 tests, one paper, and the brain project. None of them are hard at all. The brain project takes a lot of time to complete, but its all cut and glue and such. Its not hard. As long as you go to class, you will get at least a decent grade on her tests. 90 percent of the test is from the notes/discussion in class. Shes very nice and is very willing to help. She often gives "charade" hints during tests. I would advise to take her. pPych isnt an easy A for any prof, but she is your best bet

This was my favorite class all semester. She has the perfect combination of interesting lectures and clear and concise notes. There are five exams (seriously, SO easy if you just STUDY THE MATERIAL). It's relatively interesting material, too. There are little five-point "quizzes" just to see if you've done the reading. The brain project is the biggest thing, but it's not really that bad. She is very funny - I really hope I can get into one of her sections again!

Ms. Stambaugh seemed like she was going to be difficult the first night I might her but as the semester goes on she becomes AMAZING. I loved going to class every Monday and Wednesday at 5. Although, another reason I went to class was because she gave 10 extra credit points to anyone who had perfect attendance. The Brain Project was not hard but time consuming. So, don't wait until the last minute. She also has you do a Psychology Outside the Classroom and it is really interesting to try to relate an everyday activity to Psych. I love her. And if you do take her ... ask her about her fear of birds. Its Funny ... she knows how to keep the class interested. I would take her again if I had to...

This class does require you to do work and is not just an easy A. Her tests are kind of hard, but as the semester goes on they get a little easier. It is a lot of reading, but some of the reading is kind of interesting. The pop quizzes kind of stink, but only 6 of them count so they actually aren't too bad. I was expecting to do horrible and I ended up not doing too bad. The brain project is a pain in the butt and DO NOT WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUTE!!! There are 5 tests including the final, which I didn't think was too bad. 3 writing assignment things, which weren't too bad either, but don't wait till the last minute for them either. She gives many homework assignments, but once you hit 40 points you are done, so get it done fast and you don't have anything to worry about. She is a really nice professor and makes class really entertaining. She is really funny and understanding. I would take her again if I had the chance. Even though the tests are hard and the class does require work, it was not bad. And it was actually kind of fun some nights.
