Any teacher that starts off class with trivia questions, rewarding the lucky student who knows the answer with a candybar, has to be a great guy. It's a very easy class. I got a c in my high school govt class and this one was much easier, probably because the professor actually taught. He let us stay after class once to watch a video for 5 extra credit points. I believe he said he wasn't teaching the 2008 spring semester at ship, but if he's ever back here again, I recommend taking him!!!!!!!

Subject: Great Prof - You'll Like Him!!  (Dec 08 2007, 12:51PM)

I strongly suggest that you take Prof Podvia. I had him for US gov & politics which would have been a horribly dry and boring course if I had taken anybody else. He starts every class off with a couple of trivia questions. We wrote a few one page response papers, had two pop quizzes which he hinted we would have the next class so you knew to do the reading, three unit tests and a take home final. We would review for the tests the class before so you always knew what was going to be on them and they were pretty easy. He teaches at Dickinson as well so he has to drive to Ship but you can always reach him via email and he'll be in the classroom early especially on test days if you need to ask questions. Also because of that, he normally teaches evening courses which won't conflict with the law college but it will be worth taking the night class just to have him!!!
