Malick is a great guy. He makes history interesting, always willing to answer questions. His class is engaging and he really loves history which makes his lectures more interesting and not a drag. He's a funny likable guy and as long you pay attention and take notes his class is a breeze.

I had Professor Malick my first semester of college. He made history so interesting that I took him again my second semester. He's definitely a storyteller. His exams are fairly easy, if you take good notes and study. He makes you write two 5-page papers based on two books you have to read. The papers are fairly easy to write and he grades them easily. I would definitely recommend him to someone like me, who was not the biggest fan of History.

Dr. Malick can make anyone feel like they are back in kindergarten sitting in the story circle again; the way he talks about history is like him telling everyone of a great story and he puts his own input in it too so hes not just spouting facts. I genuinely liked his class, I would gladly have taken him for World History II but he doesn't teach it which I was very disappointed about! There is no homework in his class except reading the 2 books he assigned which we have to write a 5 page thesis analysis and review for each; he gives plenty of extra credit as well and his tests are fair if you took notes and showed up to class every day. I really liked that the final was not cumulative though, so it was just like any other test. Take Dr. Malick if you get the chance, hes a great teacher!

Well coming into college freshman year I was a little scared especially of my history class. I've had great luck with history teachers all my life and I thought it couldn't possibly be true in college. I WAS WRONG. Malick was a great teacher! He was not boring what so ever. He made his lecture seem like stories, and he's sooo funny! I barely had to read from the book, his tests are basically allll lecture. Only 3 tests (simple if you listen and take notes..which isnt hard) and you read two books with an essay for each. I WISHHH I could take him for world history II. honestly...TAKE HIM!!

Mr. Malick is so great. He's funny, friendly and he makes the normally boring subject matter super interesting. The books he requires for reading are really interesting too, real page turners. I wish he taught more classes. What a great guy!

Malick is awesome, history can be a very boring subject but not in his class. He is always around if you have questions, he doesn't make you memorize dates. He is just all around awesome, take him. I'm kind of mad he isn't teaching History II

Have you ever hated history? Why? Because there are too many dates to remember? Forget that. Dr. Malick is the real deal. He makes the history come alive in his classroom, and I've learned 3x as much in this class than any other JUST BY LISTENING. He has a weekly quiz which you CAN'T fail if you read the material (just from one book, it's like reading a story since it's all from religious sources). The tests are straight-forward and easy to decipher, only one essay, very small and VERY easy. Just listen in class. He's hilarious.

Great professor. He has plenty of office hour time and is always telling you to stop by if you need help. Very friendly and his class is easy. 3 tests including the final and none are cumulative, and they are all 40 multiple choice.. 10 matching and 1 short answer. Have two books to read with a 5 page paper for each, but as long as you answer the questions and show you read then the papers are easy. 5 question quiz every Friday on a reading of primary sources, they're easy if you read. Overall he is a great prof and make him a first choice if you can.

I had Prof. Malick in the first semester of my freshman year. I liked him, even though I thought his class was almost too easy. All of the classes were lectures covering material from the textbook. Homework mainly consisted of reading sections of text from different historical sources. We had a quiz on the homework every week, which were very easy as long as you read the material. There were also four tests including the final. All of them were exactly the same: 40 multiple choice, 10 matching, and an essay question. We were assigned two books and had to write a 5 page paper about each. He also gave us lots of extra credit opportunities. Prof. Malick is a friendly guy with a great personality, I enjoyed chatting with him after class. I can't really comment on what he's like outside of class because I never visited him during office hours. But I do know he held review sessions before every test. My only dislike about Prof. Malick was that his class was always lecture, but overall I definitely recommend him.

Subject: I would take him again if I could  (Dec 09 2007, 08:47PM)

Professor Malick is a good choice because his exams are based on what he lectured on - no surprises if you come to class. The weekly quizzes are based on assigned readings, and are a great way to bring your grade up. The 2 books and papers we needed to complete were the most difficult, but not hard to get a good grade on if you show that you know the material. I wish he taught World History II, because I would definitely take him again.

Dr. Malik could teach ancient history to a monkey. He relates all of the material well, explaining it in terms that normal people can understand. I also liked the flow of the class; as in he told us about a society and related it to ones that we already learned about. His tests aren't too bad, so if you listen in class and take notes, you'll get a solid grade and actually learn stuff.

Take this class if you can. This professor is awesome. You take notes most of the classes, but he explains himself so clearly when he is giving you the notes. Tells jokes a lot and is fun to have as a professor. The hardest part of the class is the two papers you have to write on the two books we had to read outside of the class.

Everyone says how nice of a guy Malick is and how easy his class is, but I thought the exact opposite after taking his class. You have to write two essays for his class based on the thesis of the two books you'll have to read. He grades them based off of his personal interpretation of the thesis, not what it actually is. If you see him at all outside of class, he will blatantly ignore you and pretend like you don't even exist. Although he made history somewhat enjoyable for me, he's probably one of the rudest people I've ever met.

This prof started out the semester really really easy but after the first exam he got pretty tough. The books he has you read are ridiculous and you have to find one sentence in the entire 300 some pages to write as your thesis in a 5 page paper. This is an alright prof because he makes world history fun. He brings it down to our level and uses a lot of our slang. Do not take this prof though if you mind cussing because this is all this man does.

He's a weird guy. He tries to make things interesting but it doesnt work. Class is really boring. You have a quiz every friday from the reading. And you have two 6 pg papers to write on books about god...that was horrible. Other than that mr. malick closes his eyes after every sentence he speaks. It's a little annoying, but hes a nice guy.
