First and foremost, Galioto is not a professor that you will be able to sleep through or get away with skipping her class. She is challenging. I took a difficult course that required a lot of work, effort, and time. She expected every piece of it to be completed. We had four major assignments. All of them were required to have at least a C in order to pass the COURSE. There are four novels that HAVE TO BE READ as well as a textbook. YOU MUST BUY/RENT THEM ALL AND BRING THEM TO CLASS. (She'll call you out on it if you don't.) However, she is an effective professor who will help guide you in the right direction, but she will not spoon feed you the answers. Overall, you will be challenged in her course, but when you come out successful, it feels good.

I learned more in her wifys class than I did all throughout high school. She's a great professor who is willing to help you improve your writing skills. I would definitely advise taking her if you love to write.

Dr. Galioto is my absolute favorite english professor! She has a very different teaching style, and loves participation. I personally hate participating in most classes, but she makes the environment so fun and relaxing...and INTERESTING!!! Dr. Galioto actually inspired me to change my concentration to secondary ed. I would recommend her to anyone! Take her if you have the opportunity!!

Dr. Galioto was pretty cool. She is definitely very passionate about her work. If you pay attention in class you will do fine. We read a lot and wrote a lot but she has fun activities in class. I think she definitely likes girls more than guys not saying that she is a feminist at all. She was cool and fun and I suggest taking her.

Dr. Galioto is very passionate about what she teaches. In WIFYS, you do need the book and read from it often. You write several very short 1 page papers on what you read. 3 papers a little longer (3-6 pgs) and the final research paper (8-10 pgs) however she prepares for every paper with you, therefore it makes them very easy to write. The best thing about the class, if you get a bad grade on the paper you can redo it for a higher grade!

Dr. Galioto's class was my favorite this semester. Her class is so interesting. Its the only lit class that we actually analyze instead of simply reviewing the story. I learned a lot and loved going to class. Take her if at all possible!

She is more interested on your thoughts and ideas. She teaches you about interpretation with the books you read. You write like 2 papers which aren't bad at all. She is more interested in opinions and not facts of the books. As long as you go to class and read the books you will do good in this class. She gives quizzes every now and then but she doesn't grade them critically... she focuses more on the thoughts and if you show that you read the book. She really is a good teacher and I am def taking her for writing. I would recommend her.

Dr. Galioto was an excellent professor! There are only two exams and a few papers, but there are quizzes on the readings which is fine as long as you read. You will do well in her class as long as you read the books. I can't stress that enough. She is a big supporter of giving your own interpretations and ideas. She also loves when people start in-class discussions about what they thought of the short story or book. You will read a lot, but the novels she picks are interesting. I highly recommend Dr. Galioto!

This class was extremely time consuming with homework!! If you are taking a very light course load than you'll be fine, but with more than a couple of light classes, it sucks! 3 big papers, 6 response papers to D2L articles (which are all long to read and difficult to understand!). Very difficult grader, not easy to talk to. I personally did not get along with her personality type at all. Bad experience for me. I would never recommend her to anyone. All I can say is good luck if you choose to take her.

Dr. Galioto is one of the most ruthless, calculating, and intellectual professors at Shippensburg. But is her reputation as nasty as you've been told? Yes. This woman is the most intimidating person I've ever met. She constantly belittles you and creates an intense aura of intellectual superiority over you. There are no alterations or shortcuts with her. It is her way or nothing, you are never correct unless you agree with her. Her workload is absurd and her classes drag (she arrives late and dismisses you late). That being said, she does attempt to bring out the best in you. However, the way she goes about it is all wrong and she tries to force feed her methods down your throat rather than let you find your way as your own individual teacher. People say her class will prepare you for student-teaching; it will a bit, but it's not even close. I learned more in my first month of student-teaching than in her class and my 3.5 years of college. She might seem cruel and heartless, but I believe she truly does care and wants the best out of her students. Even though it doesn't provide you with the necessary skills and content that you need for student-teaching (from my experience and opinion), if you can handle her, you can probably handle student-teaching.

Classes are kind of tough to sit through. Often rather shallow and disjointed discussion (this not necessarily her fault). Her attempts to make the class fun usually entail elementary school level games or props, but are surprisingly effective once in a while. Her grading is fair, she is helpful and accessible. She is thorough with suggestions and commentary for your writing. At times humorous and witty and at others condescending and trite, but always intelligent, extremely capable, and beautiful. She will teach you some things if you can overlook some annoyances of her classroom.

Great at what she does. Come to class, read the assignments and you'll do well. I had her for both WIFYS and Intro to Lit and was able to get B+'s in each. She's kind of a biotch and definitely favors girls. Especially the ones wearing brand names. Overall she's not bad. I probably learned more about writing in her class in one semester than I did in high school english classes.

Overall, the class was a success, but it wasnt easy. She tends to play a feminist like role which can really piss you off. She also expects you to kiss her ass which if you dont will make the class more difficult. If I had the chance I would not take her again. The stress I went through with her was enough.
