She is kind of weird, but she is nice and you can tell she knows what she is talking about. She doesn't make the class too difficult because she realizes that it is a Gen. Ed. and that we're not all chem majors, which is good. She gives quizzes every week, which are easy if you look over your notes before the quiz. The tests are not too hard if you study. Just make sure you take notes and study them. She is willing to help if you need it. Overall, I would recommend her because I know most people taking this class are probably not good and/or not interested in Chemistry and just need to take another Gen Ed.

She talks about cake. She focuses too much on MLA formatting and it is supposed to be an easy Gen Ed. She gives quizzes every week... her midterm and final come right from the quizzes. Attending class definitely helps out your grade. She talks down to her students when you ask questions, she makes you sound like you're dumb and she rarely lets you out early.

Pretty much all of the negative comments here are spot-on. She talks down to students, all but insults her students, and the class itself? When she's not teaching concepts that should not be geared towards people who would/should take this class (i.e. humanities majors), she's placing emphasis on irrelevant skills (i.e. MLA formatting) in scenarios where students would best learn about chemistry from a cultural (or layman's) perspective. FUN FACT: she claimed that she submitted the PHYSICAL, PAPER COPIES of a term paper assignment to turnitin.com (an anti-plagarism tool which works by analyzing ELECTRONIC FILES), and that a whopping NINETY EIGHT PERCENT of that class section were plagarists. Don't take her, and if you are a current student of hers, TAKE THE CLASS EVALUATIONS SERIOUSLY, AND EXPOSE HER.

Do yourself a favor and avoid her at all costs. She is the worst teacher ever. She is rude and acts like she is better than everyone else. If someone has a question, it is likely she will make them seem stupid for asking. I think the main problem is that she doesn't have people skills.

Not a clue why Kubeika decided to be a teacher, even a professor for that matter. As an education major, I plan to at least care about my students, and she trashes the reputation of all educators. She is quite possibly the most horrible professor on campus, and walks in everyday with a condescending attitude. There is no book, so you have to be there to take notes everyday, which she rushes through without explaining. Not to mention the fact that I'm learning nothing relevant to real-life applications of chemistry, besides one obnoxious paper that we have to write explaining the chemistry of something for a non-chemist to be able to understand. Oh yeah, and she thinks she's an English professor too. She not only revised her own rubric in her red pen to fit the mistakes of my paper, but docked tons of points for MLA errors although she said it was a good paper, defeating the purpose of a rubric as well as completely over-looking the important part of the paper, content. Please do not take her, you will never feel so small in your life, because she talks to her students like we are 5 years old, then makes us feel stupid when we don't understand collegiate chemistry. I used to love chemistry in high school, now I realize it's the teacher who makes the class worthwhile.

This lady is terrible. She is very sarcastic, condescending and acts like everyone is dumb. Because kids were 2 mins late to her class, she told them their papers were late. THEY WERE ONLY TWO MINUTES LATE!!! That's just terrible, seeing how if they had class before and their class got out late, obviously they weren't going to make it on time. The only positive thing about her is that she does not require a book, hopefully you are good at taking notes!

Dr. Kubeika is absolutely hands down THE WORST teacher I have EVER encountered. I have never ever in my life met someone as rude and as ignorant as Dr. Kubeika. Don't bother asking questions in class because she will either tell you she doesnt have time to answer your stupid question because she taught it last class or she will just laugh at you and make you feel like an idiot.

Stay as far away as you possibly can. I took her for Chem a cultural approach, which everyone knows is a 100 level class. Well she taught it as if we already knew everything about chemistry and we were going for a doctorate. She is rude about everything and acts as if we were complete morons. During the final she asked us to sit in rows with one space between. We did and she looks up and goes "since we aren't even smart enough to follow directions I will point it out for you" and made us sit it columns, not rows. She has a smart attitude about everything and didn't show up for her office hours during finals week and never rescheduled them. I got a 47% on the final paper because I had incorrect basic information, which is funny because I got the information directly from the organization website of my topic. She thinks she knows everything and really she should never have received her bachelors degree, let alone her doctorate. again STAY FAR AWAY

first I took this class pass/fail, and she told me I was an idiot for doing that bc this class was an easy A. She was wrong. She seems like shes cool and nice or whatever, but she's very rude. She's very all over the place, which is hard to pay attention and take good notes in class. She's obviously inexperienced. The biggest problem is, she just doesn't understand why a student may not understand chemistry. Also, nothing about this class was cultural. It was all chemical. If you take it, take it pass/fail. Needless to say, I didn't have to take the final and still passed.

She is a horrible boring teacher. It is a 100 level course and she expects us to draw different bonds. This class is supposed to be about chemistry and our culture and all she has us do is draw stupid bonds. Things that will never relate to our culture. She sucks.... And she acts as if Kutztown is superior to ship... Personally Kutztown could fall off the face of the Earth and no one would care... I can't even explain to you on how bad she is... Don't take her..

This teacher is not only a horrible educator, but is so rude about everything. She makes fun of our class and laughs when the average quiz grade is an 8 out of 20. The scores reflect her teaching ability, but she decides to blame it on anything she can. Instead of giving us more time to finish the test that was wayyyy too long she tells us to hand it in anyway. I received a 64% on the test even though when you look at the problems I had time to complete, I received a 95%. Something is wrong here. Do not take her. Why waste your hard spent time receiving a grade that is not what you worked for. She honestly needs to lose her teaching certificate. If she was the only teacher left, I would seriously wait till next year to take the class.

This is her first year here are Ship, she claims to have taught at other colleges but I would never believe it. All of her classes are several chapters behind the other Chem Profs and she goes out of her way to insult students who question her teaching. Her exams would be easy...if you had time to finish them. Only 3 people in my class finished her second exam. We have been given less than 4 minutes to finish quizzes that should take about 20. Do yourself a favor and avoid this teacher at all costs.

AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!!! I took chemical bonding with Dr. Lacy last year and had to re-take it... I honestly wish that I could re-take Dr. Lacy, cause Kubeika sucks! Kubeika doesn't teach the material she just reads off her notes. She was hired 3 days before the start of the school year! And was not prepared for this position. The second test that I took only 3 people finished and all she had to say about that was that she gave this test somewhere else and they finished it. "So I guess that's just the difference between an A student and a B student." But honestly when there is a class of over 40 students and only 3 can complete the test (completed not got A's) that means you did something wrong not the students. She shouldn't be considered a professor! SHE CAN'T TEACH!

This professor needs to learn how to spell. This was her first year. The chem department hired her the Friday before classes started, because they couldn't get anyone else. She made it a point to be rude to the entire class, and let me just say if she could get a doctorate, I think a fourth grader could get one too. She is 2-3 weeks behind the other class, and is always behind our labs... She cannot teach. So honestly take one of the other more experienced professors, that aren't completely obnoxious, and you might have a shot at saving your GPA

She is not as bad as you all claim. She is kind of rude, but her assignments were easy. Also, half the time she gave us a 100 on our quizzes just for coming to class, which really helped our grade at the end of the semester. Also, her tests are based off your quizzes (the whole test is just our quizzes which we already had the right answers for). Overall, her personality needs some work but I thought the class was pretty easy.

I am still taking this class but Jaime is a nice teacher. She expects you to do your work, but we are in college. Do not take this class if you plan on coming to class hungover every day. Pretty easy as well.
