Professor Cella is really nice and understanding professor. He is an easy grader and allows the class to write draft essays, peer edit and then do the final draft. His essays are easy and he give good examples in class on how to do all of them. His lecture is kind of boring but everything he says makes sense when it comes to writing the papers. Be cautious of his quiet meek voice though, I would highly recommend you sit in the front because he's hard to hear. He has quizzes on some books but the readings are reasonable and the quizzes are easy if you read. Overall hes a great professor and I definitely recommend him.

If you need a gen ed, then you should definitely take intro to lit. with prof. Cella. Compared to other professors who teach the course the work load is a lot more then what we had. The class primarily starts out with readings about Native Americans, which is not as bad as you think!! You have about 10 quizzes about the readings throughout the semester and they are always only two questions. They usually are no brainer questions so if you have a general idea you will be fine. The second half of the semester you read plays, which are actually really interesting. There are two 500 word responses you hand in, as well as a midterm and a final. Everyone finished in under a half hour for both. Overall Cella is a fairly easy grader and such a funny guy. He did the single ladies dance in class...so take him.

Prof. Cella is the greatest Prof. I have had here at Ship. He is a very nice and smart man. You have three papers, read short stories and take little quizzes, and do two debates. He grades very fairly. I would take him if I were you!!!!! You won't regret it!

Dr. Cella is a nice guy who is willing to work with students. He got a little corny/goofy at times, but its definitely bearable. He gives extra credit here and there and isn't an overly tough grader on essays. He is very willing to work with you on your essay, and if students take the time to see him their grades will improve. Overall it was a good experience with Dr. Cella

Dr. Cella is a really nice guy and he has the nicest voice, which sounds weird but he should really do books on tape. Anyway his class was really straight forward. If you read all of the material you’ll be fine. His tests include sections from the readings which you have to identify where it is from, who said it and its meaning. He grades extremely fairly but make sure you proof read! If you decide not to read for his class you won’t do well on the tests!

Dr. Cella was by far my favorite teacher this semester at Ship. He is fair and a cool guy. The topic of the course is identity which includes 3 papers, 3 debates, and quizzes on the readings. The quizzes are very easy if you do the readings, which aren't bad at all. He is a fair grader on the papers, which he gives you all the info and guidance to get an A. Definitely the best prof at Ship...take him!

Cella's class was extremely boring especially if you do the readings. Every class you talk about what you read the night before. He has a few papers and almost weekly journal entries from the readings, but as long as you read you'll be fine. You don't learn too much but some of the books are good.

Dr. Cella is an extremely smart guy and a very nice man. His class was my favorite by far during my Freshman year. The class was mostly discussion about the readings. The books were very enjoyable and he always has great feedback. He is a relatively easy grader, but he won't just give you an A for showing up. If you read the books and come to class prepared you should receive an A. The exams were a breeze if you did the reading which he gives ample time to complete. Also, he is subtly very funny. He slips jokes into his very calm and cool lectures which usually get a good laugh or two. He is always available and overall his class experience is very enjoyable. If you have the chance to take him, do it.

He is an amazing teacher and a good one. The class is very easy. The books you read are actually interesting and are good books. And only one play which you just have to get the jist of it. He was always there and willing to help you and doesn't give too much homework. Just two tests. He is a great professor and I will advise you to take him. It was a great and easy class.

Very laid back, nice guy, don't have to do too much work aside from a good chunk of reading. As long as you show up for classes and do all the reading and work on your papers over time instead of procrastinating, you will do well in his class.

Cella is a great man. Whenever I emailed him, he always answered me within the same day. He may make his students read a lot but its not that bad. His lectures are like any other teacher's except a little funnier when he misspells words on the whiteboard. If a cell phone goes off in class, he laughs about the ringtone. He isn't strict and is a nice person. I have heard from others in my class he grades things hard, but I didn't think so at all. It's not exactly an easy A, but what is in college? He was one of my easier professors this year and if I can I will take him again.

You have a lot of reading to do, but then again it is a Lit course. You don't have any quizzes although you do have to respond to readings online. There is one final paper and he guides you through it, and your responses online help too. The midterm and final were easy as long as you paid attention in class and read the books.

As far as a writing class goes, this one was by far the easiest I have ever taken. Which may or may not be a good thing. If you're actually looking to improve by writing a lot of papers and being graded fairly hard, then this class is not for you. If you're looking for an easy class, then this is it. The papers are not graded too rough and you have easy, three question quizzes on the readings.
