Subject: Not Bad  (Oct 27 2008, 02:09PM)

She has a pretty heavy accent, so sometimes it's hard to understand her. Her class can also be kind of boring, so don't take her first thing in the morning. But she definitely loves her subject, so that helps. She is willing to meet with you to help. She gives a couple of papers, and you have to read a novel. It's not that hard though. She basically gives you the notes, and her tests aren't that difficult. She grades pretty easily. As long as go to class, pay some attention, and do the assignments, you will be fine.

Ok...the 1st time you have class, you'll sit there with your jaw dropped and wonder what the he** she is saying. The Korean accent is difficult to get used to, but with time...it grows on you. It actually was amusing to hear how she tried to pronounce things. She was always very cheery and nice. If you did bad on the papers, she'd let you redo it. There are two papers, one 500 wd and one 1000 wd. They aren't bad at all though. I just blabbed on and on about the same thing over and over and I got an A on it. The quizzes she gives are open book/open notes. If you read the article and answer the 5 questions after it, the quiz should take you 5 minutes. The lectures are honestly kind of pointless, but hey...it's a gen ed. Take Park if you want an A, just give it a little bit of effort and show up to class.

Professor Park's class is really easy. It is a very boring class though, kind of painful to sit through. But if you need an easy A I recommend her class.

Professor Park is very nice. She has a Korean accent but you get used to it. She asks questions in class which are usually easy to answer if you read the material. Her main priority in teaching you is to help you learn something, just anything. She wants you to see things in a large perspective and does not want you to pay attention to every minute detail. After all you cover the entire world's history in 2 semesters flat. I am very thankful to have had her for history. She has made me actually semi-like history.

This class is one you want to take. You probably wont understand a word she says and class can be really boring but it isn't hard to get a good grade in this class. Her quizzes are open book she puts the midterm and final on blackboard like 2 weeks before they are given and what she puts on blackboard will be exactly what she puts on your test. There are 2 papers: a 500 word one and a 1000 word one which isn't that much to write at all. All you have to do is go to class and she will raise your grade. I only went to class on days of quizzes, when papers were due and during tests and I still got a B. So take this class... if you mess up on a paper she will let you do it over.

She rushes through everything. She'll make extremely long powerpoints and expect to get through them in one class. You end up not learning a thing! She also forgot to bring the exam to the finals and we had to wait 30 minutes for her to go run off copies and we were not allowed extra time for her dumbness. The only good thing that came out of this class was attendance. I didnt miss a class and she rose my grade a letter higher.

I took this class as a freshman thinking "boy this is gonna be hard." But it wasn't lol!!! Shes hard to understand and you don't learn much but her grading is very easy to work with. Good attendance and good quiz scores will ensure you with a good grade. And make sure you do good on her papers too. I bombed the final (which she was unprepared to give us)but I still passed with a "B." enough said.

She is Korean so you cannot understand most of what she says, which makes it very hard to learn anything. But she does make it easy for you. She tells you what is going to be on the quizzes and tests, including the essays. She is too scared to yell at anyone so you can get away with anything. It is so easy to skip her class too, if you actually read the book you would probably do good in the class, but I didn't so I am not doing as good. Overall she makes it an easy class. No homework, just two short papers that she grades very easy.
