This professor manages to make accounting understandable. Plus he really tries to get you ready for life after college. There is work to do, but it's important stuff he wants students to know from his real world experiences. Take him if you really want to learn.

At first, I thought he was going to be really hard because of the way he acted and how hard the first test was but after that he became easier...Seriously if you go to class you will be fine...I did not do too well on my tests but because I showed up for class he noticed me and I got a good grade. And he will know who you are if you go to class and that will help you majorly...If you go all the time you will most likely get a curve on your grade...The 3 cases and 4 articles are not hard and you can even get extra credit...I would def say if you can stand attending class every time, then this is the class for you!

At the beginning of the semester I read the material before class and it flowed very well. He did talk about the steel company a lot but it was a useful example and it tied directly in with the material. After a while I stopped reading, skipped classes, and didn't pay attention at all in class. But I still read the material before the tests and did the homework assignments. That was enough to pass his tests with ease. The tests are right from the book and he tells you what is going to be on them. He is rude in class but it is hilarious. At first you think, "man this guy is an asshole" but later it loosens up the class. He grades easy and he gives "extra points" for random easy quizzes. You're an idiot if you don't pass his class, but you do have to READ (kinda like every other class in college).

In order to succeed in this class you A. need to go to class. He gives a lot of quizzes and if you start to miss classes then you will miss quizzes. B. study for your tests. The tests are fairly simple and a lot of the multiple choice on the tests are terms. C. Go to his office hour. He is very nice and will offer to go over your exams with you. Overall you need to put a substantial amt of time into his class and you will succeed.

All you havee to do is show up to class every day. If you participate and actually do the required readings and homework you should get an a. He will give you extra credit for your effort and you will get better grades on the quizzes than others will. I did not do anything but show up for class until the two days b4 the test and still managed to get a b in the class.

I HATE accounting. I took this class before I came to ship & had to withdraw. But Pitingolo was a nice grader. His tests never had any surprises on them (sometimes he would practically say what he was putting on the test). If you had the gist of the problem he gave you points. He gives you more quizzes than necessary in order for the all the points to work in your favor (which really helped). A 50 pt project that you had ALL semester to do and if you didn't get at least 45 pts, you're an idiot. He moves right along with the powerpoints (but its not too bad) so if you miss class you can follow right along. No surprises with him. I thought he was a nice guy and I regret not taking him for managerial.

Everyone is always talking about how he expects so much out of you, then why are you here. If you're not going to put in the work then why go to college. He expects you to come to every class, which you will get extra credit for and he also gives extra credit quizzes which are very easy. Not many assignments and if you read the chapters the tests are easy. If you're lazy, this IS NOT the teacher for you.

It's like he didn't care if students were actually learning the material or not. He never let us work through problems in class and would just say...you know what you don't know...when it came to test time. If you don't pay attention for like one second he will call you out in front of the whole class. DON'T miss any classes either. You'll never recover.

This class was very difficult. I did not expect this class to be this hard. I studied 5 plus hours for the exams, and still got a low grade. He is a very rude person in general and is always in a sour mood. I cannot stand this man and I would NEVER take him again. WORST PROFESSOR AT SHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is the worst professor I have ever had. He doesn't know anything about accounting, all he talks about is the steel industry and has nothing to do with what you are learning. His tests are ridiculous, he doesn't put anything you have done before on there and doesn't curve at all. He doesn't do problems in class, just expects you to know how to do the homework. If something is wrong with the powerpoint he will be lost, he seriously doesn't know anything. Don't bother asking a question either because he doesn't know the answer and then makes you feel like an idiot for not knowing. Don't take this class. If you have to, get a tutor and don't waste your time going to the class!!

Do not take this professor. You will learn nothing from him and all he will do is tell you how you owe him 9 hours every week of work. He will make you feel stupid in front of the class. He is a complete jerk and I would not recommend him to anybody. He does not know how to teach, he just tells stories about things that are not related to the material you are learning. He will not show you how to do problems and his tests are extremely hard. If you absolutely have you take this professor, sign up for a tutor after the first day because you will learn nothing from this guy.

So the tests are all two day tests, one day is multiple choice and the second day is all problems. The first test is the hardest to make people drop. There are 4 tests and there are 3 or 4 case assignments and 4 article assignments. He gives the most random extra points on assignments even though he swears he doesn't give bonus points. But beware, he can be a pompous a$$ who is never wrong and doesn't know how to teach and he is actually bad at math and plays it off by telling the class they should tell him the right number because he isn't a calculator. If he likes you, you are fine and he gives an awesome curve if you show up to all the classes. Overall, I would not recommend him.

I feel like I could have been a bit more prepared for this class, but I think I still should have been able to catch up even if I wasn't prepared, however that was not the case. His class is sooo hard. If you fall the least bit behind.. you're done for. He definitely could have taught this class much easier than he did. If you are not good at accounting in the least bit you will need a tutor if you take him. Like I said, I think I could have been a bit more prepared than I was, but I think if the class was actually taught like it was the first accounting class most people have ever taken, I would have done better.
