Subject: GREAT teacher  (Feb 17 2009, 07:53AM)

Ihave her for a night class and it is such an easy class but soo interesting! First off, she doesn't even know what time the class is over with, she lets you out early every class. There is a quiz every week but she TELLS you where all of the questions are (the book website). She's also on the radio..soo cool! I'd definitely recommend her because not only is it an easy class, you learn so much from the class cause it is fun!

In the beginning, you will assume this class is a waste of your time...but it really is not. You learn the overview of Mass Communications as a whole. If you do not mind having Professor Williams for a night class, then do yourself--and her--a favor and drop the class. Otherwise, be very thoughtful, learn something, and stay. There are NO EXAMS, but there is a quiz every week, and we always watch "Frontline" because they cover pertinent topics to the mass media world. We had two guest speakers, one group activity, a huge mass media project, and 1-2 page papers due every week. If you cannot do well on the multiple choice quizzes each week, take the opportunity of doing the extra credit. Also, if you are lucky to have her, you will also get the benefit of leaving early (usually around 7.30-8PM). The reason is, she wakes up at 3.30 AM to focus on her other job, which is being a co-anchor for her morning radio show, on 93.5 WTPA-FM. So, why not take this woman? She is pretty hip and knows what is going on in relation to mass media, and you would be an idiot not to learn something from an expert that is in this field. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the material.
