Subject: Strange math class but good professor  (Sep 29 2014, 11:00PM)

I had no clue what Mathematics for Liberal Studies was but it's basically applied math for real word situations. Quizzes are open notes and fairly easy. Attend classes and do the homework to ensure good grades. Tests are not open notes and are not as easy. Ask questions because he will help as much as possible. I would recommend taking over something out there and useless like calculus.

Dr Bryant is a very laid back person...tries to make jokes but really doesn't work. Other than that he is a very good teacher and his class is very easy... a quiz every thursday..and the first part is open notebook..and the second part is group based. 3 exams. Overall, easy class and good teacher.

Lance is just a young guy out of college who isn't ready to be a professor. I could not learn from him. He just doesn't explain the material very well. He's easy to talk to, but grades hard. He doesn't curve either, so good luck.

Dr. Bryant is a really nice person, but I don't really think he is an effective professor. He does try to help you out in class and he is available to speak to during office hours. I never was very good at math though, and this professor did nothing to change that. His quizzes are nice because they are only like 2 or 3 questions and you can use your notes, but if you don't understand the material to begin with, your notes might as well be written in chinese. He doesn't help you with anything on the quizzes either if you have a question. I'm just glad this is the only math I have to take.

This man is a nice guy who is easy to talk to. BUT, his class is ridiculous!!!! We took our first exam in his class and the average was 66.7% and there was NO CURVE!! Apparently it isn't all the students fault if everyone is averaging a D! We also take quizzes every Thursday and it has 2 parts. The first part we are allowed to use our notes and the problems are directly from the homework, which you could consider your notes, and then the second part is a group activity. Which is very nice.
