Wow, come on, this lady is easy. The book on Tuna you dont even have to read you can skim for the answers in the book because she gives you the questions. If you actually read the book you're an idiot. She will never ask you questions on the book if you dont raise your hand. She does give you points for going to class on the day the questions are due, but why wouldn't you go anyway, are you lazy? She gives a curve on the tests if the class doesn't do good on it so if the class does bad she will give a curve. Her class is easy and all you have to do is go and she puts an outline on D2L or blackboard so you have to follow along. Put some work into it and you wont do bad, its how college is. Not everyone just hands out an A but if you try you can get one. Also she gives extra credit that isn't hard. I would take her, you learn some cool stuff if you actually listen.

Subject: new at ship, still settling in, lots of potential  (Mar 04 2010, 01:16PM)

Sahli is new, so she is still settling in, but she has the potential to make a hell of a good professor. Shes young, easy going, and easy to relate to. It's easy to listen to her in class, even though she could jazz up her POE lectures a little. I think that shes something like an evolutionary plant biologist by trade, she graduated from somewhere in Hawaii. Her first POE test average was like a 72, I dont know how the F**k that happened, it was easy as pie. I guess because a lot of dumba*s freshmen just don't come to class. Personally, I don't think that tests get much easier, anyone with a brain could have pulled a B with just coming to class regularly, get an easy A by looking through the notes a time or two. Shes always around in her office and if you go see her she is more than happy to help you and she is really easy to talk to. She responds to questions in class very well. I could tell her first week or two that she was nervous, but she is much more comfortable now that the semester has progressed. I would def take the upper level classes that she is scheduled to teach in fall 2010. The only thing that sahli doesn't have going for her is the years/decades of teaching experience that the older profs have, her lectures can be a bit choppy, just because she is new at teaching. But she has a lot of potential. As far as work goes, in POE there is a few pages of reading a week (usually 15-20 pages) and a few questions, it will get you an easy 5 points per week. I think there are 3 tests, and a project or two, both are pretty easy going. Dont listen to the negative comment. Sahli is worth it. Take her class. You have to be stupid if you don't do well.

Dr. Sahli is a very confusing teacher for Basic Biology. Her lecture is all on powerpoint which doesn't even have a lot of information on it. She writes something on the board but you're expected to take notes from what she says. She's difficult to keep up with because she definitely jumps around in her lecture. She doesn't even follow her powerpoint most of the time. Also when you ask a question, most the time she just laughs and doesn't really give a clear answer.

If you ask a question she looks completely flustered and doesn't know what to say. She goes through her powerpoint too fast for you to write down everything and its really dull. I'm always fighting off sleep and lose frequently. She also made us read a book about tuna. Most horribly boring book I've ever read and it's 440 pages. She makes you do reading questions before class and then questions in groups in class (if you miss it you get no points). I would strongly advise you to take someone else.

I have only been in this class for 2 weeks now and I absolutely hate it. She has no public speaking skills whatsoever! She is all over the place with her notes that go in no order. She will talk about one thing and go right into another thing that is completely different. And when you go to answer a question, she looks at you blankly and is like "ohh okk" like she has no clue what you are talking about. I would never take this class with her again!
