Dr. Hargrove knows what he is talking about in this class. If you pay attention you will learn more in this class then any other class you have taken at ship. This class isn't that tough either, he tells you what's going to be on the test. He gives homework 2 times a week and its straight from the textbook. I highly recommend you take his class

This is probably the only class I actually really enjoyed. He made class fun and interesting even for early in the morning. Some of the stuff is hard but it's college... what do you expect. He treats his students like adults, makes sure you actually learn something, and has been great at building relationships with all his students even though he's only been here for like a year. Take him.

Some people complain about the amount of work in this class, but it's really not that bad. If you participate in class and are attentive, that's what is most important to him. So don't be afraid to ask questions and raise your hand. He's always available to give you extra help outside of the classroom if you need it. If you have the chance, take Dr. Hargrove.

This was the first semester Dr. Hargrove was here but he did an excellent job. Yes his class was a little difficult but if you attend each class and actually try, you should do fine. You have one big group project but if you get to working on it early you should have no problem finishing on time. Overall, I really enjoyed his class for having it in the morning. He really enjoys teaching and is always willing to help. Take his class if you can!

In addition to what someone else said.. verbatim from his 20 page paper grading rubric "According to the rubric, you see that "Format" only accounts for 15% of your grade. Please note, if your paper is not a final draft of the quality expected of a SENIOR student in a business major, you will receive a D or F on this paper without regard to the weighting on this rubric. Your final paper must be written as if to be submitted to your future boss in a professional arena. If your paper is not in good order, you will be "fired" on this project." Also, he announced in class that a bad presentation will drop your paper 3 letters grades. Have fun

First off he's not a bad guy, but he's a terrible professor. The first half of this class was all philosophy and he makes you read like 30 pages a night then doesn't explain the readings at all.. He basically teaches you nothing! Our first exam was open note and the avg was still a 65%!! He has unrealistic expectations of his students and treats everyone as if they are all getting their doctorates in this stuff! He hates helping his students because he says that in a 400 level class you should be able to help yourself! We have to write a 15 page paper and he said not to come to him for help.. Absolutely terrible!!! Avoid him at all costs!!!

Not much to say here except if you are looking to slide through B&S do not take Hargrove. I repeat do not take Hargrove. From the first day to the last I would say half of the class dropped. He grades extremely hard and the information is extremely hard to go along with that. He is very passionate about this class, but as a senior looking to graduate you are practically on a teater totter with this guy whether you will graduate or not (Not a good feeling). I walked into this class playing checkers and this man was playing chess from the jump.
