The best professor I have ever had. The way he teaches is impressive and nothing like I've experienced before. He's the math teacher you've always wished you had. His examples are straightforward. The concepts are simplified. He moves at a slow, fair pace. By and large, the most effective professor at Shippensburg. He's ALWAYS there to help you. He's the professor that wants to see you succeed. I'm going to miss him.

I struggle with math and knowing that I had to take applied calc made me cringe. I never wanted to show up to class and it was like pulling teeth for me to actually go. Prof Evitts would always email me to ask if things were alright because he was concerned with my grade/attendance. He is such a nice guy, I wish I had taken his class more seriously when I had the chance. I could have really succeeded if I gave it the chance.

I'm good at math and still thought Applied Calculus was going to be difficult. With Professor Evitts, he made Calculus extremely easy to understand. His tests are fair and there are no surprises. Also, he is very easy to get in contact with for help. If you have to take a math class and see his name, take him!!!!

If you have trouble with math take him because he teaches the information really well and is easy to follow. His homework consists of my math lab and hand in problems. MML you have unlimited tries to get the question right and its not timed and the hand in problems are usually pretty easy and he will help you with them if you go to his office hours. His tests are directly from what you learn in class and hes a really nice guy who wants you to understand the information

If you ever have the chance to take him... do so. He is an amazing teacher and a really nice guy. He is able to break things down for those who dont understand the content. Somethings were a little hard...but nothing you can handle.

Dr. Evitts is no doubt one of the nicest and smartest professors I've had so far. He makes sure all of his students understand and he always put his students first. Some of the material can be tough but it's simple: just go to class, do your work, ask questions, and study. An all-around great guy. Take him if you get the opportunity.

I had Dr. Evitts for Applied Calc Fall 2011. Best prof I've ever had at Ship. He is available whenever you need him. I went to his office hours every MWF so he could help me with certain problems and he stayed longer hours for me. I am terrible at math, my test average was a D and I still managed to get a B in the course. Don't be afraid to ask for help! Nicest prof I've had. If you show any interest in improving your grade, he will help any way he can! He also doesn't rush during class. Take him for any math class!!!

This course is pretty simple and basic already if you took the typical math courses in high school. But if you aren't so good with math, Dr. Evitts will help you with whatever you need, no doubt. He is very approachable and easy to talk to. He explains things in class very well and if anyone has any questions he will take the time to answer them for the whole class. He was a very good professor, and I would suggest him to anyone.

Professor Evitts is the perfect gen ed professor, he doesn't take himself too seriously, but at the same time you can tell that he cares about what he is studying. If you show up every class, you are basically going to pass. He even went as far as to bring doughnuts the one class to illustrate a mathematical point. Let's face it, math professors don't get better than Dunkin Dounuts

If this man is teaching a math class that you need for a gen. ed, then without a doubt take it! This class consisted of homework assignments, blackboard quizzes, and chapter quizzes. The final - a 10 question quiz. Great professor. Take him!

He is the most caring prof at SU. He really will try to help you with your grades. He is very dry and boring but he will help you to understand the material. You should def take him.

I have always been good with math, but even for a friend of mine who hasn't, we both did well. As long as you come to class you'll do fine. I almost never looked at the material in the book and I did well. He has hand-in homework assignments and a Blackboard quiz and an in-class quiz for each chapter, but there is no final and that was the best part. He is really understanding and I would def. recommend this class to anyone, whether you are good in math or not. And if you aren't good in math, this one is probably the one for you.

He was a good teacher. You get a lot of online things but they are really easy. He really helped people out with their final grades. He took your highest grades and used those. He just wanted everyone to do good. I would take him!

The first thing he did in our class was pull out a Koosh Ball. This was followed by an ice-breaker that was lots of fun. Though I have NEVER been good at Math, he has changed my opinion of the subject. I was a little worried about this class, but it all turned out well. He's helpful, thorough (if a little slow at times), and almost always available for questions. Tests aren't hideous, but you have to read the directions very carefully. I don't care if you have to beat other people out of the way with a very large stick, make sure you take him at least once:)

Sweetest and most caring man I have ever came across. He is known as the "easiest" teacher to take M for LS with and this is correct. So, if you want a pretty easy A, then I highly suggest taking him. However, every so often you may find a tough question on occasion on one of his tests.

 T. Evitts uses emails, phone calls (if wanted), and personal time to help every student to understand each problem. It is like we will not go on till everyone understands. His class is slower paced which helps all students learn. We also learn through several different methods daily and help each other learn. He does not call on you unless you want to answer. I wish he was teaching finite math!!! I would take him again for every math class at Ship.
